Treasures unfold on the cov’nant path,
Blessings bestowed by The Lord,
Unto the righteous reserved by the God they have served
Through their faith in His glorious Word.
Given the strength to endure is inheritance pure

Knowledge and pow'r are a blooming flow'r
Planted by those who obey.
Nourished by service with care, and the waters of prayer,

Like Eve, she gives life; it’s her divine nature.
As the Garden’s pure fragrance, nurture awaits her.
And with her God she gives love like no other.
Before children are born she is ever a mother.

Like Eve, she gives life to bring forth creation,
Multiplying God’s glory, bringing salvation.
Her holy work she performs with slight slumber.
God bestows his great pow’r because she is a mother.

Like Eve, she gives life to God’s holy children.
On this path she gives rise as highest of mountains.
And as a gift she is there to lend succor,
For as with each new birth, she is named blessed mother.

Kevin Boesiger has created a wonderful anthem that combines a Scripture-based lyric with original musical material and two well-known Christmas melodies (CAROL and KINGS OF ORIENT). The quickly moving music is set in the minor mode and creates a wash of mysterious sound. The accompaniment features a variety of interesting keyboard textures, and an optional oboe part adds to the evocative nature of the anthem. The part-writing is very practical and the artful use of repetition will aid in the learning process.

1. Sing the hymns without any variation whatsoever.

2. Combine hymns into a medley of hymns.  

3. Change the time signature of a hymn or a verse or section. For example, a hymn in 3-4 time could be changed to 4-4 time by adding an extra beat to each measure.

4. Men, women, or both sing one or more verses in unison.

5. The congregation joins the choir on the final verse or chorus of a hymn. (This is a great way to help the congregation become more familiar with lesser-known hymns.)

6. Women sing one or more verses. Women can sing most hymns in two parts (soprano and alto) or in three parts (soprano, alto, and tenor).

7. Men sing one or more verses. Many hymns can be adapted for use by men's choirs and quartets. One idea is to arrange the voices in the following manner:

-Baritones (1st basses) sing melody

-1st Tenors sing alto above the melody

-2nd Tenors sing Tenor

-Basses sing Bass
