Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1295477 Composed by Isaac Cohen. 21st Century,A Cappella,Classical,Contemporary,Jewish. 15 pages. Isaac Cohen Music #885765. Published by Isaac Cohen Music (A0.1295477). I wrote Oseh Shalom, wanting to connect my Jewish heritage to my own contemporary classical style of writing. While not very religious, I've always loved Jewish music. To that end, I sought out to write something that wasn't an arrangement of an already existing tune but wasn't also a more obscure prayer that only the more religious people would know, both of which I've done before. In addition, I wanted to write something oriented more toward a concert rather than a religious setting.Oseh Shalom comes from the last part of the Mourner's Kaddish, a longer prayer recited in memory of the dead. It is not only said in sadness, however. Many settings of the prayer, including Debbie Friedman's and Nurit Hirsh's, which are the settings I grew up singing, are very festive. As such, when Oseh Shalom, I tried to encapsulate mournful and festive feelings and give it a more classical touch.Questions? Feel free to reach out to me at isaacwilliamcohen23@gmail.com.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1173627 Composed by Dave Gardner. Arranged by Dave Gardner. Contest,Festival,Historic,Multicultural,Traditional,World. Octavo. 12 pages. D. M. Gardner Music #773774. Published by D. M. Gardner Music (A0.1173627). Performed by the National Youth Choir of Scotland for the Scottish Parliament's 20th Anniversary Celebration also attended by Her Majesty the Queen.  The Bonnie Banks O' Loch Lomon', or simply Loch Lomond for short, is a well-known traditional Scottish song first published in 1841 in Vocal Melodies of Scotland. The song prominently features Loch Lomond, the largest Scottish loch, located between the counties of Dunbartonshire and Stirlingshire. In Scotland, the song is often the final piece of music played during an evening of revelry (a dance party or dinner, etc.).For this interpretation, the song is being sung by a soldier who chooses to die to save the life of his friend. But with that decision, his true sacrifice is revealed, as he will not only lose his life, but his true love as well. Each of the main verses are sung to her. However, his refrain then turns back toward his friend whom he reassures by reminding him that they will both go back to Scotland...That he (his soul) will go on the low road and get back to Scotland first, whereas his friend and brother-in-arms would take the high road home that linked London and Edinburgh upon his release. To learn more about the composer, please visit https://www.dmgardner.com.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841363 Composed by Felix Bartholdy Mendelssohn, Samuel Arnold, and William H. Cummings. Arranged by Michele Galvagno. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 18 pages. Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele #6098159. Published by Artistic Score Engraving di Galvagno Michele (A0.841363). This year's Christmas publication choice fell on a song very dear to me: Hark! The herald angels sing. The text, inspired by Luke’s Gospel (2:14), appears for the first time in a collection of Christmas carols called Hymns and Sacred Poems in 1739, jointly written by Charles Wesley (1707-1788 ) and George Whitefield (1714-1770), two of the founding members of the Methodist movement. The version we know today is the one adapted by William H. Cummings (1831-1915) from the section Vaterland, in deinen Gauen of the Festgesang zum Gutenbergfest, WoO 9, by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy (1809-1847). The story, however, is more complex and articulated than that. The original version of the text, written by Wesley, bearing the title Hymn for Christmas-Day, had received only slow and solemn music for its verses, music now almost completely discarded. Also, his original opening lines were Hark! How all the welkin rings / Glory to the King of Kings .The version that has been passed to us is the result of alterations made by different hands, especially those of Whitefield, who changed the initial couplet into the one we know today. In 1840-one hundred years after the publication of Hymns and sacred Poems-Mendelssohn composed a cantata commemorating Johann Gutenberg’s invention of movable-type printing. The English musician William H. Cummings finally adapted Mendelssohn’s music around 1855 in order to fit the music to the verses and give it its present look.In this edition we propose the version that every listener expects to hear when reading the title on the programme and, immediately after, one of the few original versions that have reached us in their entirety, that is the one set to music by Samuel Arnold (1740-1802) and available today in The British Minstrel, and Musical and Literary Miscellany, vol. 3, published in 1843.The proposed instrumentations are those of the classical string quartet and the cello quartet. Both variants are very simple to perform and are certainly suitable for small string ensembles formed in musical schools. In the cello quartet version, the only relatively complex part is that of the first cello, which should be left to the teacher or to a student able to play up to the 7th position without excessive troubles.I hope this music can bring you the serenity that made me prepare it.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1033366 Composed by William Billings. Arranged by Michael Laurence Cooper. Classical,Contemporary,Holiday,Patriotic,Praise & Worship. Octavo. 2 pages. Michael Cooper #6369969. Published by Michael Cooper (A0.1033366). William Billings' Chester was a popular tune in the American colonies during the Revolutionary War, and a natural candidate for the new nation's national anthem. Billings' placement of the melody in the tenor, however, makes his voicing rather awkward for modern SATB choirs. This arrangement preserves the chorale texture but solves the issue by moving the melody to the soprano. The harmonies have also been expanded and modernized. Only the first and last verses have been included. The performer is free to include whichever additional verses they wish. A performance of two verses will last about one minute. Suitable for high school and church choirs. A different arrangement, tailored to the ranges and abilities of your singers, can be requested by contacting the arranger at michaelcooperpiano@gmail.comRanges:soprano F4 - F5alto C4 - Bâ™4tenor C3 - D4bass F2 - A3
