During the Covid 19 lockdown the community choir Amber Valley Voices have worked with their MD Angie Cope and accompanist and composer Chris Lawry to write a lock down inspired song to rehearse in their Zoom rehearsals to hopefully use in their forthcoming concerts once restrictions are eased and we can begin to meet and sing together again.

This is a charming little Christmas carol based on the nursery rhyme Mary had a little lamb. The SATB choir with soprano solo is set as a Spanish lullaby (imagine castanets and tambourines).  It can also be performed as a soprano solo, a cappella.   

Lyrics begin:  The Virgin Mary, when a child, had a little lamb whose fleece was white as snow: and everywhere that Mary went the little lamb was sure to go.... When she grew to be a woman, the Holy Ghost came down from heav'n above: and she conceived a tiny Lamb, the Lamb of God: God's Holy Light.

This version is for SATB voices. It has the original melody with pretty harmonies added. There are solo, duet and complete choir singing the words. Humming and ahhs are used for the solo and duets.
