This is an SATB+piano arrangement of one of Bob Dylan's perhaps lesser known folk tunes, but one of his most plaintive and heartfelt songs. With Dylan's exquisite sense of analogy, he paints a heartfelt portrait of Americana. The difficulty level would be intermediate. This is an excellent example of homophonic choral writing in an authentic American style, emphasizing characteristics of American folk songs, connection to nature and humanity. This would be an excellent show stopper, end of concert, or other appropriate place in a program. For students, this builds choral tone, has solo, unison, two, three, and full choral singing, and a small solo. The theme builds community, and respect and love for nature and humanity. This has simple warm harmonies that exemplify American folk music, yet with a modern touch. I guarantee you will love this piece and it will find it's place in your permanent library. Perfect For Earth Day or general service in a church setting, the text is general, fits almost any church service. This piece combines the standard text of Ave Maria in English with the text from Proverbs 31 known as Woman of ValorI wrote this piece to venerate Mary and also to venerate all women and their personal strengths.  I consider this Easy to Medium in difficulty, as it has a lot of unison singing and simple four part choral singing.  This would be perfect to use to in a Christmas, Mother's Day, or regular service that highlights contributions of women, and the personal strength necessary to surmount ordeals in life.   The middle melody is taken from the Gregorian Chant Ave Maria but with words from Proverbs.  It should be sung in the style of a legato, light chant, yet with crisp consonants to hear all the words.  I am working on an SSA version of the same piece.  For those who do not have a budget for a harpist, I also have a backing track available with the harp and organ.  The organ is lighter, so an organist could play along and be dominant, and the harp would be heard most.  The harp part is attached score.

This is an Introit and Benediction.  The Introit, Rise Up, is best suited for Easter, with all the pomp and flourish, with brass quintet and timpani.  The benediction, May The Road Rise To Greet You, uses the text of the Gaelic Blessing, with a few word changes, with piano accompaniment.  The level for these would be intermediate or more.  I maintained the grand processional style for the Introit and wrote a lighter style for the benediction.  The benediction could be done anytime during the year.  Several have adopted it as their standard benediction.  I hope you enjoy them.  I also have a version that is for organ and piano only, no brass(the organ does the brass parts, modified) in case your budget is slim.

This is a more contemporary choral arrangement of the familiar hymn, with a new melody that ties the arrangement together.  It progresses from traditional harmony to more a more contemporary choral treatment, while still retaining the original feel of the hymn.  This would be for a intermediate level church choir, and could be ready for a service in one rehearsal.  The solo instrument could be solo violin or Bb clarinet, both fit the melody beautifully.  This is one of a series of hymn arrangements I am writing that follow the church year, this one would be a New Year's hymn, but of course could be sung anytime.  It is around three minutes, perfect for a typical service.

This is designed to be a service anthem, meditative, with cello solo throughout.  The original devotional poem by Laura Kinney Farrand is included, and is based on Psalm 23.  It is of Early Intermediate difficulty for SATB choir, piano, cello, and the same melody is used for all verses with each verse a little more harmonically complex.  It is a very enjoyable anthem, short, and congregations have been very positive in their response.  I hope you enjoy it.
