This is designed to be a service anthem, meditative, with cello solo throughout.  The original devotional poem by Laura Kinney Farrand is included, and is based on Psalm 23.  It is of Early Intermediate difficulty for SATB choir, piano, cello, and the same melody is used for all verses with each verse a little more harmonically complex.  It is a very enjoyable anthem, short, and congregations have been very positive in their response.  I hope you enjoy it.

This is a wonderful setting of three hymns that are usually sung on Palm Sunday.  I wrote a melody that is used to tie the three together.  It would be for early intermediate or more choir.  The hymns themselves are in typical chorale style for the most part, and are tied together by my common theme.  This is a nice, budget friendly way to celebrate Palm Sunday, as it employs one trumpet, piano, and organ, as well as the choir.  This would work with a minimum octet choir or larger.  Also offered is a Piano-Choral version for the choir to use, which is less pages than the full score.  The trumpet part is included at the end of the full score.

This is an SATB+piano arrangement of one of Bob Dylan's perhaps lesser known folk tunes, but one of his most plaintive and heartfelt songs. With Dylan's exquisite sense of analogy, he paints a heartfelt portrait of Americana. The difficulty level would be intermediate. This is an excellent example of homophonic choral writing in an authentic American style, emphasizing characteristics of American folk songs, connection to nature and humanity. This would be an excellent show stopper, end of concert, or other appropriate place in a program. For students, this builds choral tone, has solo, unison, two, three, and full choral singing, and a small solo. The theme builds community, and respect and love for nature and humanity. This has simple warm harmonies that exemplify American folk music, yet with a modern touch. I guarantee you will love this piece and it will find it's place in your permanent library. Perfect For Earth Day or general service in a church setting, the text is general, fits almost any church service. This will be alongside such standards as The River Is Wide,Down To The River To Pray and others. I feel very confident you will love this piece. The music clip is page 6, the most complex verse. This original poem and piece was written with Ascension Sunday/Week in mind, but could certainly be used in a general service.  It is intermediate-advanced level, requiring good reading skills, SATB+piano.  The poetry is non-denominational.I use the women and men as double choirs.  It's less than 4 min, perfect for services or in a collection of pieces in a concert.

This is an Introit and Benediction.  The Introit, Rise Up, is best suited for Easter, with all the pomp and flourish, with brass quintet and timpani.  The benediction, May The Road Rise To Greet You, uses the text of the Gaelic Blessing, with a few word changes, with piano accompaniment.  The level for these would be intermediate or more.  I maintained the grand processional style for the Introit and wrote a lighter style for the benediction.  The benediction could be done anytime during the year.  Several have adopted it as their standard benediction.  I hope you enjoy them.  I also have a version that is for organ and piano only, no brass(the organ does the brass parts, modified) in case your budget is slim.

This is a beautiful rendition of the familiar chant, keeping the intent of early chant and choral sound, but within a more contemporary harmonic palette.  It begins simply and ends in a very uplifting, positive manner, with several transpositions along the way.  However, the feeling of plainchant is always present in each variation as they evolve.  This is the first of what I hope to be a collection of hymn arrangements for choir that follow the Christian Church Year, this one being Advent season.  Of course it can be sung anytime that fits the situation, but I used the United Methodist Hymnal suggestion for an Advent hymn.  The piano simulates bells and chimes, and the voices sometimes do also.  A very uplifting arrangement, while not so difficult as to discourage choirs.  It employs the concept of canon and contemporary harmonies.  I hope you and your choir or choral organization enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
