SATB chorus, Flute, Oboe, Piano, Djembe - Grade 5 - Digital Download SKU: IZ.VMW1812 Composed by Daniel Baldwin. Score. 36 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #VMW1812. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.VMW1812). 6.75 x 10.5 in inches. My good friend, Elizabeth Tomorsky Knott, has personally commissioned me to write several pieces for her various organizations. This piece was requested for Music for Tanzania, which serves underprivileged children in Tanzania providing them with music and instruments. Maombi na Sifa (in Swahili, for which the diction is similar to Latin) is translated as Prayer and Praise. As the title suggests, the piece begins with a prayerful chorale which leads into a joyous affirmation of life.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1291785 Composed by Traditional Irish. Arranged by Desmond Earley. A Cappella,Celtic,Irish,Traditional. 20 pages. Seolta Music Limited #882396. Published by Seolta Music Limited (A0.1291785). Bó na Leathadhairce (the one-horned cow) is a playful song learned by many Irish children in school. With origins in county Kerry, located on the south-west coast of Ireland, the one-horned cow is a metaphor for a poitín still (think Irish home-brewed moonshine). The lyrics become more peculiar as the song unfolds, perhaps reflecting the increased level of intoxication of the singer, ‘B’fhearr liom ná sciling go bhfeicfinn mo chaora ‘Teacht chun an dorais/I would prefer to a shilling to see my sheep come to the door’.To explore all choral titles in College Choral Series please click here.

Choral Choir,Choral,SATB Chorus - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1476839 Composed by John Cameron, 1856. Arranged by Sheena Phillips. 19th Century,Celtic,Folk,Irish,Multicultural,World. 14 pages. Sheena Phillips #1054352. Published by Sheena Phillips (A0.1476839). Mist-Covered Mountains is a very accessible SATB choral arrangement of the gorgeous 19th century Gaelic song Chì Mi Na Mòrbheanna (usually translated as The Mist-Covered Mountains of Home). The original song was written in 1856 by John Cameron, and since then has entered the folk tradition. It was made famous by The Rankin Family in the 1970s, and many other folk artists have covered it. This arrangement was written for Belsize Community Choir in London, and is well-suited to community choirs. The refrain is in the original Gaelic, but the verses are in English. The Gaelic refrain is easily learned and a pronunciation guide is included. The tune passes among different voice parts, and is sometimes sung in unison. The (optional) piano gives solidity and depth – like the mountains themselves. There is also a part for soprano recorder. If performing the song a cappella, start at bar 7, end at bar 86, and leave out the third beat of bars 38, 54, 70 and 78.
