Published by Nicholas D Palmer (A0.782803). Pange lingua gloriosi proelium is perhaps a lesser known text than the Pange lingua that is sung on Holy Thursday, even though it apparently pre-dates it. This setting is somewhat minimalist, modeled on Arvo Pärt's tintinnabulum style.  The piece works as a processional for Lenten and Holy Week concerts or devotional choral services for Palm Sunday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, feasts of the Holy Cross, and other occasions.  Piano is used in this version, but it could be sung entirely a cappella. .

This arrangement for SATB choir works best with accompaniment, but can also be performed successfully a cappella. In my heart, I know that my redeemer lives is a setting of the funeral sentence from the Anglican and Episcopal Prayer Books.  The piece is suitable for funerals, but also for the Easter season, any occasions of memorial, or Sundays with readings about eternal life, resurrection, trust in God's goodness, or triumph over persecution.  This motet is scored for a cappella voices, with men and boys choirs in mind, but, of course, usable with any treble choir, or SATTBB ensemble.  The harmonies are lush, and for the most part, the piece is homophonic.  See the SATB version with optional divisi for a simpler arrangement.  Listen to the audio file to get an idea of the pace and sound of the piece.
