Stephen R Dalrymple #454566. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.847874). Hope of the World 06: On the Road to Bethlehemoriginal song for SATB choir and piano by Stephen R Dalrymple♫ sequenced by the composer♫ music © 1999, 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple♫ recording ℗ 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple♫ presentation © 2023♫ based on Genesis 35, Jeremiah 36, Matthew 2♫ This prophecy alludes to Rachel’s death near Bethlehem. Rachel dies in bitterness. Jeremiah prophecies the grief of the mothers of Jerusalem will experience at the sack of Jerusalem by Nebuchadnezzar and personifies it as Rachel weeping. A third use of the metaphor is the mothers whose babies are destroyed at Herod the Great’s command. ♫ Coventry Carol is 1 of 3 songs belonging to Pageant of the Shearmen and Tailors, a Coventry Mystery play of the nativity. The only surviving copy of the play (and the song) is dated 1534. The text of Coventry Carol expresses horror of the murder of the innocents by Herod.♫ To balance the darkness and grief of the music, the composer has concluded the song with a reminder of how God intervened to protect His Son and the redemption of mankind.♫ Hope of the World is made of 2 suites of songs that present messianic prophecies from the Old Testament that are referenced in the New Testament. The first 8 songs center on the birth of Christ, the last 9, Christ’s life and passion.♫ Includes 1) full score 2) SATB choir part on 2 staves 3) full score for 10 inch tablet♫  (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1135078 By Paul Anka. By Paul Anka. Arranged by Sylvia Miles. 20th Century,Film/TV,Historic,March,Multicultural,World. Octavo. 9 pages. Sylvia Miles #735119. Published by Sylvia Miles (A0.1135078). The Longest Day, from the film of the same name, commemorates the events of D-Day, 6th June 1944. The courage of those fighting men is legendary. I arranged this for my French choir. Based in Normandy, this has special poignance for local people, who owe their freedom to those warriors, and for whom these are their fields, their beaches. Annual commemoration events here in Normandy are extraordinarily moving, and happen in every town down to the smallest village, often attended by families of the men who fought on that day. (We sang it in French, of course - Le Jour le Plus Long - let me know if anyone wants this arrangement with the French words.) If you don't have enough singers to split the parts, sing the upper note.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1019368 Composed by Kevin Longley. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 13 pages. Kevin Longley #6511323. Published by Kevin Longley (A0.1019368). InspirationAs a follow up to a previous piece Oh Holy Spirit I decided to set music to another prayer, this time by Saint Columba. During the composing of the music my mother was sick in a nursing home with dementia and copd. My Mom always spoke of going on adventures and journeys; this prayer in many ways reflected her faith so it seemed fitting to write the music around the theme of Journey On My Way with My Way reflecting Gods way. By the time the piece was finished she had passed away. I sang the piece at her funeral commemorating her new adventure and journey in the presence of God. The Music A simple melody in the spirit of the great shaker hymn Simple Gifts. The A section of the music represents a stanza in the prayer which is then followed by a short B section where God reminds us to Journey On, Journey On My Way. The first AA sections are sung by a soloists, followed by the entire choir and then concluding in a bravura section featuring 2 tenors.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1283376 Composed by Todd Marchand. Advent,Christian,Sacred. Octavo. 6 pages. Con Spirito Music #874560. Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1283376). Charles Wesley’s (1707-1788) Advent hymn, “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus,†from Hymns for the Nativity of our Lord (1744), reflects the dual nature of Advent for Christians, in that it recalls the first coming and incarnation of the Messiah while also anticipating His return. Each stanza presents a different idea: Stanza 1, the longing for freedom from sin and fear; Stanza 2, attributes of or names for Christ; Stanza 3, the Messiah's birth, kingdom, and purpose; and Stanza 4, a prayer for Christ's rule in believers' hearts. Among the Scriptures referenced in the hymn are 2 Corinthians 4:14, Revelation 3:21, Isaiah 61:1-2, Luke 4:18-19, and Romans 6:22. In this setting of Wesley’s text to an original tune, a short introduction is followed by verse 1, presented by women’s voices (soprano, alto) and verse 2, presented by men’s voices (tenor, bass). Verse 3 is presented by SATB voices, unaccompanied; and following a short organ interlude and modulation from D minor to E minor, the concluding verse 4 is introduced by all voices in unison with organ, then expands both dynamically and in texture to SATB and ends on a glorious E major chord.©Copyright 2023 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP). Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1345216 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Mary Ann W. Snowball. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Religious,Sacred. 3 pages. Kevin G. Pace #930154. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1345216). A beautiful, sacred, Christmas hymn.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.Text:On my road to Bethlehem, I don’t hear new angels sing.I am not a shepherd tending flocks in early Spring.I don’t see a brilliant star in the darkened sky,But I long to see a King . . . a King I won’t deny.On my road to Bethlehem, I will sing a heav’n-sent song.I will make great haste in spreading news so all belong.I will search for constant light on a darkened earth.I will witness sacred life from Jesus’ holy birth. On my road to Bethlehem, as I walk in paths He shows,I’ll declare my witness of his truths to which I’m prone.I will find the light of Christ shining far above,Finally I’ll reach his side . . . a manger filled with love.Chorus after the first two verses:On my road to Bethlehem, searching for the King,I will follow sacred Light and the life He brings.Chorus after the final verse:On my road to Bethlehem, as I find the King,I will feel his sacred love . . . love He freely brings.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1141619 Composed by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Johnny Marks. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. 20th Century,Christmas,Contemporary,Holiday,Religious. 12 pages. Scott S. Stewart #741957. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.1141619). The Christmas carol I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day, based on the 1863 poem Christmas Bells by American poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, was set to music by Johnny Marks in 1956. Longfellow’s poem tells of the impact of hearing Christmas bells during the American Civil War. Marks, and other arrangers and performers normally omit the mention of the war in their adaptations of the poem. This arrangement uses the complete text of Longfellow’s masterpiece, and through respect to the text, (using choral colors and styles), honors what this arranger considers to be Marks intention, a simple hymn-tune narrative of America in time of crisis much like today. This arrangement in scored for 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment. Performance time: 4:15+-.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.891191 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Laurie Betts Hughes. Contemporary,Folk,Traditional. Octavo. 16 pages. Dandelion Music Press #3103589. Published by Dandelion Music Press (A0.891191). An ideal SATB choice for Middle School/early High School changing voice and developing ensembles of all ages, this boy-friendly accompanied concert arrangement explores the cambiata voice, male vocal registers, and encourages enthusiastic use of the falsetto and upper range through the use of an appealing yodel. Ask your choristers to bring their guitars, ukuleles, mandolins, and banjos and strum along!Conceived using the SA(T)B concept (http://www.dandavisonmusic.com/what-is-satb.html) and also available in Two-Part Treble and Unison voicings, Git Along Little Dogies is a traditional American cowboy ballad.  The melody and lyrics were first published in 1910 in John Lomax's Cowboy Songs and Other Frontier Ballads, though the song has existed long before publication in the anonymous aural tradition of folk music. Since selling cattle was quite profitable, a crew of cowboys drove a herd, particularly from Texas, to railheads where they would be loaded into railcars and shipped cross-country to get the best price at market. Cowboys watched the cattle 24 hours a day, herding them in the proper direction in the daytime and watching them at night to prevent stampedes and deter theft.  Around the campfire, cowboys sang of life on the trail with all the challenges, hardships, and dangers encountered along the way.E. C. Teddy Blue Abbott, honored in the Montana Cowboy Hall of Fame, explains The singing was supposed to soothe the cattle and it did... The two men on guard would circle around with their horses on a walk, if it was a clear night and the cattle was bedded down and quiet, and one man would sing a verse of a song, and his partner on the other side of the herd would sing another verse; and you'd go through a whole song that way.Notable performances: 2016 Idaho Middle School All-State Choir, inaugural year | 2016 Northshore 6th Grade Honor Choir, boys2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1169891 Composed by English Folk Song, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and John Baptiste Calkin. Arranged by Mark R Lewis. Christmas,Folk,Holiday,Religious,Traditional. Octavo. 23 pages. Mark R Lewis #770256. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1169891). On Christmas Day is a medley of I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day and I Saw Three Ships by Mark R Lewis. John Baptiste Calkin wrote the music for I Heard the Bells in 1872 as an adaptation of the earlier poem Christmas Bells by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. I Saw Three Ships is an English carol thought to originate from the 17th century, though the lyrics used is most modern arrangements come from later published versions. This arrangement is intended to be performed by SATB divisi choir and accompanied by a 3-5 octave handbell choir. All four voice parts pass the melody back and forth and are featured at different times and explore different vocal and accompaniment styles throughout the piece. Most intermediate choirs should be able to perform this piece, although the basses and alto should be able to sing down to a D2 or an F3 respectively (there are optional notes if this is too low). The handbell part is not particularly difficult but is active across the whole ensemble and uses mallets through one of the middle verses. There are also several key changes that will require quick bell changes or sharing of bells. It is also worth noting that I Heard the Bells is in 4/4 and I Saw Three Ships is in 6/8.This download includes a piano and choir score for when handbells are not an option as well as the handbell sheet music. Handbells are the preferred accompaniment, although it will still sound good with just piano.
