He's a Tramp for SATB voices and piano (with optional rhythm section), is a hilarious arrangement of the Peggy Lee's classic from the beloved Disney film. Starting out as easy swing with a female solo ala Peggy Lee, the arrangement suddenly shifts into high gear with a blistering uptempo shout chorus and an ending that will bring your audience to its feet. He's a Tramp is sure to be a favorite of performers and audience alike. Rhythm section part included with score. To purchase or peruse more music by Jason Heald, visit www.jasonheald.com .

By Regina Spektor. By Paul Horner. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. Contemporary,Pop. 8 pages. Scott S. Stewart #6201627. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.955816).

My Dear Acquaintance (Happy New Year) was written by Peggy Lee and pianist Paul Horner for her 1983 Broadway musical, 'Peg.’ ‘Peg’ was a flop and the tune was cut from the show.  Ms Lee recorded My Dear Acquaintance in 1983 but it was not released until 2006. This song found new life in Regina Spektor’s 2007 cover.  The spirit of this song is in that of a good old drinking song and a toast to the celebration: Raise a glass and we’ll have a cheer… is a great way to welcome in the New Year.  This arrangement is scored for a 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment. Performance time: 2:08+

Why Don't You Do Right (Get Me Some Money, Too) - Choral Arrangement for SATB and Piano arranged by Michael Thomas Coull

Why Don't You Do Right (Get Me Some Money Too!) was originally recorded as Weed Smoker's Dream and is an American blues and jazz-influenced pop song written by ‘Kansas Joe’ McCoy and Herb Morand in 1936.  Both men are given composer credits on the original 78 record label, although Morand’s name is misspelled.

In 1936, the Harlem Hamfats recorded the Weed Smoker’s Dream.  Band member Joe McCoy later rewrote the song, refining both the composition and lyrics.  The new tune, titled Why Don't You Do Right (Get Me Some Money Too!), was recorded by Lil Green in 1941, with guitar by William ‘Big Bill’ Broonzy.  The minor key twelve-bar blues song, with a few chord substitutions, proved popular and quickly became a jazz standard.

With its roots in blues music, the song originally dealt with a marijuana smoker reminiscing about lost financial opportunities.  After it was rewritten, it took on the perspective of the female partner, chastising her man for his irresponsible ways:  ‘Why don't you do right, like some other men do?  Get out of here and get me some money too!’

A wonderful bluesy arrangement for full SATB choir with piano accompaniment, not just fun for the choir to sing, but also one the audience will really enjoy too.
