Hoffman says of his arrangement: Rather than taking the easy way out by placing a pre-existing accompaniment from a piano/vocal score beneath the newly created alto, tenor, and bass choral parts (the soprano part retaining the original melody throughout), I went back to the orchestral score and created my own piano reduction. Bracketed items indicate editorial additions intended to make the arrangement more effective. The piece should be performed in a hushed manner throughout. The song still holds great significance nearly 16 years later as it poses important questions of discipleship to those who associate themselves as Christians. The song asks; if we are the body of Christ, what are we doing to further his kingdom? It also candidly points out many faults in Christian behavior, which is an honest quality I love about this song. Youth groups and praise-bands often perform this song; however, I have arranged the accompaniment more solemnly to highlight the text in a more meditative manner so that it is also accessible for adult church choirs.

Kennedy School in Berlin, to mark the 25th anniversary of their annual Advent services held in Berlin Cathedral. It was performed by joint choirs, drawn from students, parents and faculty, and choir members of the American Church in Berlin on 29 November 2017.The piece is built around the ancient hymn, Let all mortal flesh keep silence. I was asked to write an organ prelude, to serve as a processional as the choirs assembled. This may be ordered separately through SwirlyMusic.org - and now also through SheetMusicPlus.After an opening fanfare-like section, the hymn setting starts gently, with sopranos singing in unison, with successive verses using contrasting choral forces to reflect the words, and the music builds to a big climax, with a return of the fanfare opening, for the final verse, At his feet the six-winged seraph, ending with joyful Alleluias. I wrote this work during the height of the Coronavirus pandemic. I was inspired to praise God and compose new music using text from the book of Revelation. Next to each song title, I have provided the bible verses for easy access. I arranged the songs in chronological order, but may be sung in any order. Most of the songs are easy to medium in difficulty level, including the piano accompaniment. One of the songs titled Amen! Amen! (Revelation 7:12) is sung and played in whole tone scale and is challenging to perform. There is a couple of short solos, and acapella sections throughout the cantata.
