Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.976711 Composed by Isaac Watts / Lowell Mason. Arranged by Robert Myers. Christian,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 31 pages. WheatMyer Music #4775085. Published by WheatMyer Music (A0.976711). When I Survey the Wondrous Cross, written by the Father of English Hymnody, Isaac Watts, in 1707 and later matched with Lowell Masonā€™s 1824 tune, HAMBURG, has long stood at the forefront of English hymnody. This arrangement, taken from my Passion Week cantata, Wounded, Bleeding, Still Proceeding, allows the full talent-spectrum of the Body of Christ to contemplate His sacrifice and offer their devotion. The first two stanzas feature an alto/soprano duet, set in a minor key with frequent diminished and augmented chords to reflect the despair and loss of a witness to the crucifixion. The entire third stanza, set for SATB chorus, never really moves off the F minor tonic until the end. That, and the relentless pounding of the bass line, ponders the witnesses anguish and our vicarious experience of it through Scripture. So, sing these stanzas sadly ā€“ they are sad! When the choir enters, be sure to observe the swelling crescendos/diminuendos as the sorrow and love mingle together. The fourth stanza offers optional congregational participation and may be used to provide a responsorial to the Word of God or a preparation for the Table. The choir sings this stanza in four part harmony as the congregation joins on the melody. It stays in a major key and closely follows the traditional consonances used in Lowell Masonā€™s harmonization; thus, the choral parts will feel familiar and the congregational melody will flow naturally. Take the text literally (Love so amazing, so divine, demands my soul, my life, my all.) and sing it firmly, enthusiastically, passionately, but never triumphantly. Sing it as a song of personal devotion to commit all that you have, all that you are, and all that you will ever be, to the one who humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross (Phil 2:8b) so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Cor 5:21)The music is well within the grasp of any ensemble competent with traditional SATB anthems. The piano/organ accompaniments are straightforward yet very colorful. When I Survey the Wondrous Cross is an unapologetic Christian worship anthem suitable for sacred services, yet does not compromise on artistic expression. The parts provided in this version include a full score, a piano-vocal octavo (which may be performed alone), and organ and timpani/percussion parts. Neither organ or timpani are required but adding either or both provides a deep and rich experience. Parts for reduced orchestra (strings and single winds) are available separately.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.747215 Composed by Christopher R. Brown. Christian,Gospel,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 11 pages. Christopher Brown #4756805. Published by Christopher Brown (A0.747215). About the song: In Psalm 22:22, David writes, I will praise You to all my brothers; I will stand up before the congregation and testify to the wonderful things You have done. Again, in Psalm 66:16, the psalmist says, Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He did for me. Jesus, after healing a man with a demon, commands the man to go home... and report the great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you. The testimony of a life changed by God's love and His great mercy is a powerful tool for both spreading the Good News and resisting temptation. It is good for us to remember and proclaim, both personally and collectively, the great things the Lord has done. Can be performed with piano accompaniment only, OR with additional band members, OR with full orchestra*.Please Note:You can purchase individual copies of the vocal part separately on Sheet Music Plus. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.958123 Composed by Adam Judd. Christian,Gospel,Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. Adam Judd #3129737. Published by Adam Judd (A0.958123). The Goodness of the Lord grew out of the striking statement of faith found in Psalms 27: 13. While much of the psalm indicates that its author was dealing with some serious life issues, in this verse the psalmist affirms a trust in the Lordā€™s help: not salvation for the next life, but rescue and shelter within the present lifetime. This piece attempts to portray such trust in God during times of struggle and pain.At least two soloists are necessary, but the solo parts may be divided among more singers if desired to suit your ensemble. The piece may be performed successfully using only chorus, soloists, and piano; however, there is also an orchestration available (S0.249231) for trumpet, tenor sax, guitar, and upright bass. Be warned that the tenor sax part is advanced-but someone who regularly handles musical theater woodwind books should have no problem. Including a drum set is recommended if you have someone who can find his or her way through the piece and enhance its gospel flavor; there is no written drum set chart, because the person you would want to play this piece with you wonā€™t need it.Enjoy!

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796824 By One Direction. By Jamie Scott, John Henry Ryan, and Julian Bunetta. Arranged by Eric Hagmann. A Cappella,Pop. Octavo. 6 pages. Eric Hagmann #4580515. Published by Eric Hagmann (A0.796824). An SATB + solo contemporary a cappella arrangement of Drag Me Down by One Direction.  Recorded in 2015 for their fifth album, Made in the A.M., Drag Me Down was One Direction's first single since Zayn Malik left the group in March of the same year.  It topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Austria, and New Zealand, and it won the fan-voted Best Video Award at the 2016 Brit Awards. This arrangement retains the energy and intensity of the original song while adding a dash of supportive harmony to give it that contemporary a cappella flavor.  The main melody fits comfortably in most tenor ranges but also could be performed easily by treble voices with minimal adjustment during the pre-chorus/chorus.  Vocal percussion is encouraged, and this tune would be perfect for someone who might be learning beatboxing for the first time.  Easy enough to learn over the course of a few rehearsals but still challenging enough to keep it engaging, this piece would be great as an opener or closer in your high school or college ensemble's repertoire.  Soprano range: Bb4-E5Alto range: G3-C5Tenor range: C3-G4Bass range: F2-C4.
