Here is a short a capella novelty song. I did this arrangement in respect for Peter Tork, who passed away today 2/22/19. He may have not been the best bassist but he was probably one of the more famous, being the basist for The Monkees. This is in the original key from the expanded version of The Monkees' The Birds, The Bees, and The Monkees CD. Originally it was a solo. I added harmony to make it a fun song to perform. Here is one of my favorite Monkees song. At the time it was unusual to have a rock/pop band do a song in this jazz blues style. It was released as the B-Side to their Daydream Believer single. This is the long version with sax and trumpet solos transcribed. This was a mainstay in their concerts. The song was used to mimic the end of any James Brown concert. It's a very fast song with fun lyrics. Great for any performance ! Duration = 4:25.
