Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.854828 Composed by Daniel Elder. Contemporary. 20 pages. Daniel Elder Music #4983459. Published by Daniel Elder Music (A0.854828). It is undeniable that we humans are, as a species, outgrowing our small planet. As populations boom and technologies diversify, we are increasingly unable to run away from our problems. As a result, violence in civilized society is increasing at an alarming rate. How do we combat those that do harm to others, and more importantly, how do we convince our race as a whole that the problem cannot long be ignored? This original poem and its musical setting seek to pay tribute to the victims of violence in the modern United States. In an age where it seems a new tragedy has occurred somewhere every day, this work is titled 365 to represent each day of the year. The poem is structured in seven stanzas for the days of the week, and there are twelve iterations of Three hundred and sixty-five for the twelve months in the year. The final, introspective stanza parallels the poignant Christian story of Christ's crucifixion at the hands of his brethren, and lends a darker side of thought with the chosen grouping of words (read either no more; God forgive us or no more God; forgive us). This text humbly seeks to draw attention to what exactly is happening among us, among our neighbors, our governors, and our legislators, and the importance of addressing this ever-growing crisis in our society.

Mixed choir (SATB/SATB) a cappella - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q19099 Motet. Composed by Carl Friedrich Zelter. This edition: choral score. Choral Treasury. Downloadable, Choral score. Schott Music - Digital #Q19099. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q19099). German.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027467 Composed by Keane Southard. Contemporary. Octavo. 8 pages. Spindrift Pages #546435. Published by Spindrift Pages (A0.1027467). Do You Hear How Many You Are? for SATB choir was written in April and May of 2010. The origins of this piece and text come from a very interesting experience I had in December of 2009. I have been learning a lot in the past few years about the state of our world and the many huge problems and crises we are faced with in the near future, and this discovery has been so daunting and overwhelming to me. So much change needs to happen in order for the near and long-term future of our world to be just and stable that I have felt a lot of guilt over my choice of profession. Why have I chosen to be a composer and musician when I could make more of an impact on solving these problems if I were a scientist or policy maker etc.? I have been struggling to find a solution to this dilemma for a while now and I just happened to be thinking about it, while filled with lots of stress and worries, one night as I was falling asleep in December of 2009. At the moment when I was in that state halfway between sleep and consciousness, I suddenly heard the line Do you hear how many you are? in my head, yet I felt as though I didn't come up with the line but that it was said TO me. I was instantly comforted, as if a load fell off my shoulders, and then I began to hear it being sung, which I knew was the beginning of a choral piece. I woke up, wrote down the music I was hearing (about the first six measures of the work) and then wrote down this entire poem. I truly feel that this message came to me for a reason, and that I need to share it through the music I create. Those of us who want to change the world for the better are not alone; we are many and we will make our voices hear in order to heal the world. -Keane Southard Duration: c. 3 minutes -Winner, 2010 Ars Nova Singers Colorado Composers Competition (Professional Division) -1st Prize, Warren County Summer Music School's Promising Young Composers Competition, 2014 Premiered June 3, 2011 in Boulder, CO by the Ars Nova Singers, Thomas Morgan-conductor PROJECT : ENCOREâ„¢ has found this work to be of exceptional merit. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.701660). An original hymn with text by Kathryn Hales below.YouTube video: https://youtu.be/VNBnN3F9N10 When your well is dry, your life seems in a drought, When problems loom large, and nothing works out, When your soul is parched, you’re weary and tired, There’s no spark in the coals that once flowed with fire. Then…Come to the fountain.   (Chorus) The Fountain of Life that never runs dry, The source of all hope wipes all tears from the eye, God’s Living Water, always clean and pure, Will quench your thirst; His promise is sure.   Without Living Water the soul shrivels and withers, Heed the Lord’s call: Come to Me, Hither. Without Living Water problems keep growing, So come to the artesian. It’s peace ever flowing. So…Come to the fountain Repeat chorus

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1024968 Composed by Simon M. Sperl. 20th Century,Contemporary. Octavo. 4 pages. Sperl Publishing #3684071. Published by Sperl Publishing (A0.1024968). This piece is meant to help men overcome toxic masculinity. Toxic masculinity is the practice that legitimizes men's dominant position in society and justifies the subordination of women. This type of masculinity imprisons men with fear of not being manly enough. This is exemplified by use of terms such as be a man and man up or the use of feminine names as insults. Because of this fear, many men are unable to talk about their feelings, be vulnerable with their loved ones, or cry. While this is tragic, toxic masculinity also normalizes physical (often sexual) and mental abuse of women. This is the real concern. The only way to end this violence towards women is to dismantle toxic masculinity. In a grossly oversimplified version of this idea, if society allows men to cry - by dismantling toxic masculinity - then society will also cease to accept violence towards women. As a man, I feel it is my duty to be a part of the solution to the problems that my gender creates and perpetuates. This piece of music is meant to be one of my contributions.

SATB choir (choir divisi) unaccompanied - Moderately Easy - Digital Download SKU: MQ.1.3613-E Composed by Kyle Pederson. Graduation. Instrument part. 10 pages. Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #1.3613-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.1.3613-E). UPC: 600313136139. English.Selected as a ï¬nalist in the 2019 Ithaca College Choral Festival and premiered there as part of the festival. This piece received its Midwest premiere at the ACDA North/North Central regional conference in 2020, performed by Roosevelt High School, directed by Robyn Starks Holcomb. The text of the piece is addressed to anyone facing struggles—and it presents an honest afï¬rmation that those struggles are real. Rather than deny the existence of problems or pain, the listener is encouraged to “lean into†the hardship, to name it—and to thereby reduce its power. Textually and musically, the listener is presented with the metaphor of a tree—being whipped by the wind—but built to bend in that wind and ultimately withstand the pressure-ï¬lled gales. The power of community is also afï¬rmed—as the listener is encouraged to walk alongside—to bend along with—their neighbor.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1157142 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Classical,Contemporary. Octavo. 15 pages. Sally Whitwell #757469. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1157142). Written in the Stars -- text and music by Sally Whitwell Written in the Stars was originally conceived in the aftermath of the 2019-2020 bushfire season, the most destructive Australia has yet seen. At the time, we thought things couldn’t get worse, but then followed more extreme weather events, insect and rodent plagues, and a deadly pandemic that brought the world to its knees. All these things are connected, the result of humanity’s exploitative relationship with the planet and its other inhabitants. But we continue to deny the problems and to fail to act. As a species, in our more optimistic moments, we talk about having great opportunities to reinvent, that to live the status quo means that we will be faced with an untenable future. Talking about it is one thing but as far as I see it, we are not taking any opportunities to act. It is clear that we do not learn from our mistakes. As Spanish American writer George Santayana once said “Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.†It is from this notion that this song was born. Written in the Stars is about society’s propensity to go through cycles of behaviour, never learning from the mistakes of the past. Written in the Stars was originally commissioned by Adelaide Chamber Singers, directed by Carl Crossin. Sally Whitwell January 2023.
