Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1084615 Composed by Alan Bullard. Children,Christmas,Classical. Octavo. 36 pages. Colne Edition / BullardMusic #688801. Published by Colne Edition / BullardMusic (A0.1084615). A seasonable celebration for SATB choir, optional youth choir and narrator, with piano (or brass quintet, or string quintet, score and parts available from www.colneedition.co.uk). Duration c. 25-30 minutes. This 8-movement cantata contrasts the cooking of the Christmas dinner with more reflective Christmas themes, with an opportunity for the audience to join in at the end. Ideal for Christmas concerts. We welcome you to our ‘Feast for Christmas’.  In the first movement, Christmas Welcome, the scene is set: but the key to a successful Christmas dinner is forward planning and in the second movement the Christmas Pudding is prepared in November, on ‘Stir-up Sunday’. In the third movement, Christmas Eve, the early twentieth century poet Robert Bridges looks back, on a frosty evening, from his own time to the very distant past, and considers what Christmas means to him. Then in the fourth movement, our Christmas Feast is prepared, and the Christmas Grace (fifth movement) is not forgotten.  It is of course impolite to sing during the actual Christmas Dinner itself, but towards the end of the meal the peace is rudely interrupted by the sixth movement, Christmas Crackers. The seventh movement, Christmas Spirit, reminds us, in seventeenth-century words, of how we should share our good fortune with those who have need of it, and in the last movement, Christmas Celebration, the audience is invited to join in, with the last verse of the well known ‘We wish you a merry Christmas’ Some separate movements are also available: Christmas Recipe, Festival (Christmas) Grace, and Christmas Celebration. SATB choir, piano, and Spoken word, with optional violin, B-flat trumpet, and snare drum - Moderately Difficult - Digital Download SKU: MQ.1.3682-E Composed by Kyle Pederson. 9/11 Service, National Songs/Patriotic. 104 pages. Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital #1.3682-E. Published by Galaxy Music Corporation - Digital (MQ.1.3682-E). English. An exciting extended work by Kyle Pederson, centered around themes of social justice—inviting the choir and audience into a compelling vision of a world rooted in compassion, freedom, inclusivity and justice. This five-movement, genre-bending work is for SATB chorus, with piano, spoken word, and optional violin, snare drum, and trumpet. Texts by Langston Hughes, Walt Whitman, Robert Bode, Shanelle Gabriel, and Pederson invite the listener to reach out and build bridges of care and connection, that we might find a better way of being in community. That we might stand in solidarity with those whose voices are too often dismissed, regardless of their skin color, sexual orientation, faith background, or other characteristic. That we might not dismiss, disdain, and judge those whose politics are different from ours, but that we might make the uncomfortable effort to see them as people just as worthy of respect and dignity. Each of the five movements in the work can be performed as a stand-alone piece; and choirs are welcome to craft their own spoken word narration (poetry, speech excerpts, etc) throughout the work to explore themes and perspectives that most resonate for their community/audience.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796809 By Robert Palmer. By John Moon Martin. Arranged by Eric Hagmann. A Cappella. Octavo. 8 pages. Eric Hagmann #3692383. Published by Eric Hagmann (A0.796809). An SATB + Solo contemporary a cappella arrangement of Bad Case of Loving You by Robert Palmer.  Released in 1978 by John Moon Martin and then covered the very next year by Robert Palmer, this driving-rock spin on the traditional blues form fits perfectly as a piece just for voices.  Contains alternate lyrics which could be used by a female soloist.  In the hands of a skilled vocal percussionist, the propulsive rhythm of Bad Case thumps alongside the bass; thus laying the groundwork for your soloist and setting the electric tone for the entire song.  Rather than mimicking the guitar licks of the original piece, the supporting vocals fill the void between phrases and then pack a true punch when finally getting to the chorus that we all know and love.  At the bridge, the bass has a moment to shine on the melody before handing it off to the altos to finish the section.  This is followed directly by a unique departure from the original tune - a breakdown where all but one section drops out.  Over a short time, each part layers themselves back into the texture, thus building to an exciting climax where the vocal percussionist resumes the original groove along with the full support of the rest of your singers.High energy and lots of fun, this arrangement is great for your high school or college ensemble!  .

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1215879 Composed by Arthur Ager. Arranged by Robert Luke Thompson. 20th Century,A Cappella,Christian,Easter,Praise & Worship. Octavo. 6 pages. Monkspath Music #812573. Published by Monkspath Music (A0.1215879). James Arthur Ager (1867-1947) was a British composer, organist, and music educator. He studied composition at the Royal College of Music in London under Hubert Parry and Frederick Bridge. Ager served as the organist and choirmaster at St. Andrew's Church in Birmingham for over 50 years. Ager also became Professor of Organ & Harmony at the Birmingham and Midland Institute School of Music (the predecessor of the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire) for nearly four decades. Although not as well-known as some of his contemporaries, Ager's music, including a variety of songs, choral, piano, and organ works, is worth exploring for those interested in late 19th and early 20th-century music. Perhaps his most famous composition is The Legend of St. Christopher, a cantata based on the medieval legend. Rejoicing is a beautiful hymn for SATB choir, which would be perfect for any number of concerts, festal days and services, such as Easter, Harvest, Earth Day, or for any suitable occasion. The register for all voices is suitable and accessible, making it an ideal addition to any choir’s repertoire. This version (in the original key of A major) has been re-engraved for both SATB short score, and long score – giving your choir the flexibility you may need. The short score has been kept as close to the original as possible, whilst the long score features some suggested extra dynamic markings. A PDF scan of the original publication is available via email request. For further pieces, view the Monkspath Music catalogue and click here!
