This is one of my favorite texts for choral literature, combining Old and New Testament text.  It is for SATB(with some split parts) and piano, intermediate-advanced, approximately 3 minutes, perfect anthem length.  It is a nice combination of contemporary harmonies and impressionistic styles, and very moving.  I hope you and your choir enjoy this offering.  .

Stewart (A0.1509625). “Kiss from a Rose”, written by Seal, first appeared on his self-titled album Seal II in 1994 - eight years after he wrote the song; and then two years after its initial release, it became a phenomenon.  Currently it has the distinction as one of the most sung karaoke 90’s tunes performed.  The lyrics, while passionate and lovely, are cryptic and have been the subject of debate since its release. That said, this arrangement simplifies the ‘power ballad’ to an uncomplicated madrigal-like folk-song setting.  It is scored for 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment.  Performance time: 4:20+-.
