Choral Choir,Choral (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1373417 Composed by Phil Beaman. Classical,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Pop,Romantic Period. 10 pages. Phil Beaman #957783. Published by Phil Beaman (A0.1373417). I originally wrote Total Eclipse as an expressive Art Song for solo voice and piano.  I used several lines of poetry from Newburgh Hamilton (1741) and set them to unique music that is a fusion of Classical, Romantic, and Modern, with a touch of Pop.  The music expressively drifts from major to minor to modal every few measures, inspired by the themes of darkness and light.  When I adapted it for SATB I filled out the already rich harmony and added ethereal 'oo's under some of the melody.  In a few brief measures, at different places, SAB each will have a divisi line where it splits to 2 parts.  (The texture is never thicker than 5 parts at once.)  This approachable piece of music is a good introduction for singers to the interpretation of an Art Song and is a dramatic performance piece for concert.  And perfect for the upcoming April 8 total eclipse!(Haydn also used variations of this text to create several Recitatives and an Aria for his oratorio Samson.)  10 pages, 2:00 minutesVocal Ranges:  all 1 octave; Sop - middle C to C; Alto - low G to G; Tenor - D to C; Bass - G to Gattached recording is of the original solo voice version which SATB is closely based on.  Be the first choir to record this and send me a link which I will post.  plbeaman@gmail.comalso available on this site as a vocal solo in several keys, and as a Unison Choral hymn

Kevin G. Pace #1028528. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1448715). A collection of 17 songs, 157 pages (SATB Choir, TTBB Men’s Choir, vocal duets, and a vocal solo) addressing several of Christ’s attributes as we see them demonstrated during his mortal sojourn. Not all attributes are addressed, as there are far too many positive qualities of our Master, for He is perfect in every way. But, presented in this book of sacred songs, are several of his most noticeable attributes that can help us grow and learn as He would desire us to live. Some of these are patience, charity, submissiveness, healing, compassion, and more.We hope you will enjoy these original renditions and that each song will give each listener a sense of who we really worship, and how much hope we can have that through our Savior’s help we can each become closer and closer to Him. As we rely on his promises, may we follow His admonition to become “even as I am” (See 3 Nephi 27).

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1028613 Composed by Lydia J. Wede. A Cappella. Octavo. 12 pages. Lydia J. Wede #3591703. Published by Lydia J. Wede (A0.1028613). The Battle of Kresvia is an a capella choral piece that tells the story of several knights going to fight in a mythical battle. There are several phases throughout this song. It starts out with a recurring melody of the soldiers marching, then the knights pause to dream about what they will encounter. However, all of their dreams turn to nightmares when they realize the mortal terror they will encounter. The warriors drearily march until their commander riles the troops and raises their morale. We continue the journey with the troop until the battle begins. The knights fight on to victory! Sorry for the bad audio, email me at lydiawede@gmail.com for any questions or assistance.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1012990 Composed by Santiago Suarez. Arranged by Donald Dilley. Contemporary. Octavo. 8 pages. Dilleyhouse Publishing #6659353. Published by Dilleyhouse Publishing (A0.1012990). As performed by Eva Eugenio.  This arrangement of Katakataka grew out of a desire to introduce our classes to the culture and music of the Philippines. While we have several Filipino students in our choirs, we were surprised at how little the non-Filipino students knew of this wonderful and diverse group of islands. In the process of learning this piece, in addition to getting a small sample of the Tagalog language spoken in many parts of the Philippines, we took time to study its history and geography as well as the history and evolution of it’s music - from native instruments, to the Spanish influence and beyond. Additionally we spent time learning a fun Filipino dance called Tinikling and included that dance as part of our performance. Any combination of C instruments would work including violins, flutes, and Orff percussion just to name a few. A good guitar player could replace the piano part to make it more authentically Filipino. My Filipino students were a great help in learning the language and there are several resources available on YouTube and beyond that will aid in better understanding and performing this work.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.535387 Composed by Carson Cooman. Baroque,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 65 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3043973. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.535387). I. SinfoniaII. To Mary on the vigil of her AssumptionIII. A Votive SongIV. The Heliotrope-the mind of man turned to GodAscensions (2009) for SATB chorus, traverso, baroque violin, viola da gamba, and organ was commissioned by and isdedicated to the Cornell University Chamber Singers, Holland J. Jancaitis, director. The work is a cantata consisting of an instrumental sinfonia followed by choral settings of three poems by neo-Latin poetJakob Balde, S.J. (1604–68), hailed as the Horace of Germany and considered one of the greatest Latin poets of any era.In the case of the three poems selected, Balde’s vivid imagery and mastery of Latin poetics are put in service of religiousexpression. The poems are filled with countless allusions to the classical poetic tradition; notably, he creates a strongcorrelation between the Virgin Mary of his Christian tradition (Balde was a Jesuit priest) and the goddesses invoked inclassical Latin poetry. Thus, Balde uses the older forms to express something that was, for him, contemporary andrelevant. (An analogue to this use of language is the idea of creating new music to be played on period instruments.)The opening sinfonia begins with an ascending pattern of triads, which returns throughout the work. The forwardmomentum is interrupted several times before the movement settles tonally. The first choral movement employs abouncy momentum to set the celebratory poem on the Virgin’s assumption. The second movement is a prayerful song onthe acceptance of death; it is spare and meditative, unfolding as a series of sectional canons over several drones. The finalmovement returns to the celebratory spirit of the opening; this time, instead of the Virgin’s journey, the poem describesthe speaker’s journey and compares a purposeful sea voyage to a directed life.Balde’s poems are provided in their original Latin and in two translations. One is a free translation in rhyming poeticEnglish created by James J. Mertz, S.J., longtime professor at Loyola University. The other is a newly-created literaltranslation by Edward J. Vodoklys, S.J., Senior Lecturer in Classics at the College of the Holy Cross.Carson P. Cooman, January 2009, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USAPERFORMANCE NOTES: The composer prefers a classically-informed Italianate pronunciation of the Latin(church Latin is acceptable). (It is important that V always be pronounced as V, not as the W soundoften used by classical Latinists.)The work is conceived for a chamber choir, as a larger choir would not balance the timbres of the baroqueinstruments. It is suggested that 16–24 singers be employed (no fewer than 12).As with much early repertoire, dynamic and expressive markings are kept to a minimum. It is expected thatdirector and performers will inflect lines expressively and naturally. The organ part is notated for a small portatiforgan with pull-down pedal (with no independent pedal stops). If played on a larger instrument, this smallerregistration plan should be kept in mind so as to create balance with the instruments and choir

SATB chorus & piano - Grade 2 - Digital Download SKU: IZ.VMW193 Composed by Richard Sorce. Score. 8 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #VMW193. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.VMW193). 6.75 x 10.5 in inches. In 2015, Fr. Paulo Tanzini, former pastor of Church of the Assumption in Emerson, NJ, commissioned me to write a piece for the fiftieth anniversary of the building to be celebrated in mid-August of the same year during the recognition of Mary's Assumption. Although this was to be a fiftieth year jubilee, the parish had been in existence for many decades prior, and many of the choir members had been parishioners since the construction of the new building and some even before.Myidea was to ask the choir members to participate in this piece by expressing their thoughts regarding their devotion to Mary, and from their writing I would assemble their words into a lyric.Initially, A Prayer to Mary was composed as a unison/octave setting, after which I arranged it for SATB with piano accompaniment. Most important in the performance of this piece is to approach it with a generous amount of expression and rubato in several areas so that the meanings of the individual lyric phrases become meaningful and not just words.I have included chord symbols in the score for those who wish to personalize their own accompaniments; however, chord symbols do not, and in several cases cannot capture the exact content of the accompaniment. It would be beneficial to analyze the content of the written accompaniment before assuming that the chord symbols reflect the exact harmony.A Prayer To Mary can be appropriately performed during Mother's Day, the celebration of The Assumption of Mary in mid-August, as a communion meditation or any time during which special devotions are warranted.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1044850 By Mark R Lewis. By Mark R Lewis. Celtic,Folk,Irish. Octavo. 48 pages. Mark R Lewis #649472. Published by Mark R Lewis (A0.1044850). This original song tells a fairy tail in the style of a Celtic folk song. Both the story and the tune are wholly original and were composed as part of a music production class that Mark participated in during the spring of 2022. This song tells the story of a young boy's adventure in the woods, his skepticism towards what the old folks say, and the results of his failure to listen to them. This piece by Mark R Lewis is arranged for SATB ensemble. All parts get the melody at some point and there are several duets between voices parts throughout the piece. Additionally the accompaniment voices switch between homophonic harmonies and arpeggiating chords several times for increased complexity and interest. The instrumental parts consist of vibraphone, piano, bass guitar, and floor tom parts. Any mellow metallophone would be an appropriate substitute for the vibraphone and the bass guitar part can be played on almost any bass instrument. The optional floor tom could be substituted with any other lower, resonant drum available but should not be a short, sharp sound. All that said, both the vibraphone and bass guitar parts are mostly doubled in the piano or vocal lines so groups that do not have access to those instruments should still be able to perform this piece without concern. This piece is also available for Vocal Trio w/ Mixed Ensemble and the sound files sampled here are from that arrangement. Vocal Range: d minor Soprano - 1+ octave (D4 to E5) Alto - 1+ octave (A3 to D5) Tenor - 1+ octave (C3 to D4) Bass - 1+ octave (F2 to A3) Instrumental Range: Vibraphone - 1+ octave (D4 to E5) Piano - ability to reach at least an octave in both hands Bass guitar - 1+ octave (E2 to A3).

SATB chorus & piano - Grade 2 - Digital Download SKU: IZ.VMW185 Composed by Richard Sorce. Score. 6 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #VMW185. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.VMW185). 6.75 x 10.5 in inches. The text for this piece appeared in a small booklet of reflections by several writers, and while perusing several of these reflections I came upon, My Strength Is My Lord by Albert Norman Theel. That was 27 years ago. I contacted Mr. Theel asking for permission to set his text to music and he agreed. After the music was written, it sat in my collection of original manuscripts until Imagine Music Publishing agreed to publish it. I believe performers will find Mr. Theel's words inspirational. This work is an SATB setting with piano accompaniment. I consciously kept it brief. Nothing to detract from the lyrics. Perform it with expression and the message will unfold.

Mixed choir and organ - intermediate - Digital Download SKU: S9.Q20945 For mixed choir and organ. Composed by Stefan Heucke. This edition: score for voice and/or instruments. Schott Chamber Choir. Downloadable, Vocal and performing score. Op. 57 a. Duration 7 minutes. Schott Music - Digital #Q20945. Published by Schott Music - Digital (S9.Q20945). German. From his Pater noster for soloists, choir and orchestra, written in the form of a cantata, in which the original Latin text is combined with the new German translation of the former President of the Bundestag, Norbert Lammert, Stefan Heucke has taken an almost seven-minute German version for mixed choir and organ for practical use and newly arranged it. The text version of Norbert Lammert uses a direct and concise language which reinterprets several archaic expressions of the traditional translation: 'Dein Reich kommt, wenn dein Wille geschieht, auch auf Erden'. Stefan Heucke set the choral parts in major/minor-mode homophony in a deliberately simple way. The organ basically supports the choral setting and expands it rhythmically and harmonically now and then.
