Sorry I'm a little late to the party, but from 2010 here is a transcription of the epic Gwyneth Paltrow performance on Glee, arranged here for choir and piano plus optional rhythm section. (At the back of the octavo is a separate rhythm chart.) The mp3 is a quick computer-generated demo since I couldn't access the mp3 of the cast recording. Li Bai (A.D.701-762) of Tang Dynasty has written a poem of 20 Chinese characters called as 靜夜思, or, Quiet Night Thoughts (Nostalgia) in English. The poem is very famous in China and in Japan. Up to date 1314 years have passed. But, very few composers had ever made the song for that poem. Then, Johnson Gao composed a song for it on May 16, 2016. He further enlarged it to 8 voices and made the Karaoke (卡拉OK) for you to try. 靜夜思 李白 (公元701~762) 床前明月光, 疑是地上霜。 舉首望明月, (抬頭望明月,) 低頭思故鄉。 Quiet Night Thoughts by Li Bai (A. D. 701~762) Translated by Johnson Gao (English translation by Johnson K. Gao) The bright moonlight is casting over the floor before my bed. It seems to me as like as the frost spreading on the ground. When I raise my head and stare at the bright moon, Bowing my face, I couldn't help thinking of my hometown.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1019372 Composed by Kevin Longley. Christian,Easter,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Kevin Longley #6550433. Published by Kevin Longley (A0.1019372). Where Is JesusInspiration January 1st, 2021 was the start of my official retirement from a wonderful company that I had been employed at for 40+ years, Cirtronics Corporation. Where Is Jesus was my first retirement music so to speak. A 2 measure musical idea came to me in early January. Several weeks later I had the overall structure completed and started inputting the score into my music program. At this point I had no lyrical ideas, however with Easter approaching it occurred to me that the musics dramatic content leaned heavily towards Good Friday, in spirit. As I pondered that, I couldn't help but wonder what the disciples thought when Jesus was taken. Certainly they would question where he was, question what had happened. Thus was born Where is Jesus with the lyrical content asking and then answering. The Music The music is comprised of an A section which begins with the Tenors and Altos singing Where Is Jesus. The choir then responds (in chronological order, as recorded in the Gospels ) with lyrics that describe the brutality that Jesus endured. Here the weight of what has occurred is felt with the lyrics and music evoking great emotion. The B section follows; a retrospective look back sung by the soloist, stating that all had transpired as foretold, or as stated, by Jesus and the prophets. A C section is then introduced which contains the hope then, and the crux now, of our faith deaths chain cannot have its reign, he will rise, he will rise. After a short piano interlude we are returned to the A section, now modulated to a higher key; here the most emotional section of the music is felt with the raw truth of what has happened. He is nailed to the cross, he has died, we are lost. The piece then ends as it started Where Is Jesus, to be answered three days later.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1129659 Composed by Kevin G. Pace (ASCAP), Kathryn W. Hales. 20th Century,Blues,Jazz,Religious,Spiritual. Octavo. 14 pages. Kevin G. Pace #730069. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1129659). A fun, jazzy, energetic choral composition telling the story of Ebed-Melech and how he saved the prophet Jeremiah. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Kathryn W. Hales. Text: The Good Book says that Moses Was buried by the hand of God; And those bitten by fiery serpents Were healed by lookin’ at a rod. Elijah was taken up to heaven By a chariot of fire, But the prophet Jeremiah Was cast into a pit of mire. “Can’t you hear me, Lord?” Jeremiah is a’cryin’, “Wilt Thou deliver me? For I am surely dyin’.” The Lord touched the heart On one Ethiopian And says to Ebed-Melech, “Go and save my son.” That black man, he did hearken And went straight up to the king, “What you’ve done to Jeremiah Is a very wicked thing.” “Can’t you see his misery? Can’t you hear him cryin’? Let me deliver him, O King, For he is surely dyin’.” Then Zedekiah repented, Said, “Go get Jeremiah Out of that old dungeon Out of the pit of mire. Take thirty strong men with you Do not delay or wait, Bring the prophet up again Before it is too late.” Ebed went to the pit, Called down into the dark, “I’s a comin’ to save you, Now, oh man, take heart. The king has relented, But before we start, Put old rags beneath your arms, So the ropes won’t leave a mark. Poor Jeremiah was so weak, He’d almost lost all hope, The men did gently lift him up ‘Cause he couldn’t climb the rope. He was kept in prison, But now he had some food, Until the Babylonians came To seize the multitude. ‘Twas an Ethiopian that saved him, A servant to Judah’s King, Blessed be the name of Ebed-Melek For doin’ such brave things. The Lord uses many people From every tribe and race To be an instrument in His hands, An implement of His grace. “Repent all House of Judah,” Jeremiah kept on a’cryin’, “Turn unto the Lord again, Otherwise you’all be dyin’. His words come down through the years To the people of today, “Repent and turn back to the Lord, And walk His chosen Way.”.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.569657 Composed by Pavel Grigorievich Chesnokov. Arranged by James W. Featherstone, III. A Cappella,Multicultural,Sacred,World. Octavo. 13 pages. Jim Featherstone #178790. Published by Jim Featherstone (A0.569657). This Russian Orthodox Feast of the Annunciation hymn was set to music by Chesnokov for baritone soloist and male chorus, and the hymn (lyrics) is in Slavonic, The arrangement is for baritone soloist and SATB chorus and the lyrics are in English I heard the piece for the first time a few years ago when I was searching YouTube for a different Chesnokov work and stumbled onto the performance linked below, which thrills though the imperfection of the recording. It has now had 1.4 million views . I liked the music and wanted to obtain it for my church choir. I couldn't find anywhere an SATB version in English, so I finally created one myself. The piece should be sung a cappella. A piano part for rehearsal is included.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1215602 Composed by Reno Fusani. Christmas,Classical,Contemporary. Octavo. 46 pages. Reno Fusani #812332. Published by Reno Fusani (A0.1215602). Fantasy on hark! uses Hark! The Herald Angels Sing as a theme. Written for SATB choir with a version for small orchestra, and one for organ, it provides a very interesting and modern setting for a special Christmas performance. Both versions feature the harp. Both versions also include a “vocal rehearsal piano score” which may be copied for your choir members to facilitate rehearsal. This organ version includes a score, organ only part, and harp part as well as the vocal rehearsal score. I couldn't get the organ sound on the computer rendered mp3 to my liking. You may want to listen to the mp3 of the orchestra version (available elsewhere on this site) to get a better idea of the sound. Obviously an organist will make a suitable registration for performance.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.582905 Composed by Steven Curtis Chapman. Arranged by Jeff Tincher. Christian,Gospel. Octavo. 18 pages. Jeff Tincher #3513541. Published by Jeff Tincher (A0.582905). This is a C instrument and Piano arrangement of a rare Steven Curtis Chapman composition. This song is so rare, I couldn't find it Steven Curtis Chapman's discography. The only recording I could find was one by The Homeland Quartet on their Down Home Days CD. So this arrangement is in the original key from that recording. This is a typical 1980's Southern Gospel Patriotic song, great for any live venue, but especially good at Memorial Day, Fourth of July, or Veteran's Day celebration. Duration=3:29. A jolly parody of Shakespeare's song by the same name but using my Bell Dance as the melody to represent mobile phones (or cell phones as they say in the USA). A version for men's voices is also available on this site. The sound sample here was performed by the Composer's Choir under Dan Shaw. ring ding dong ding dong ring ding dong ding dong It was a lover and his lass in the spring time that through the city streets did pass in this ring time calling each other every minute or two and texting in case they couldn't get through oh hearken to the lovers in the spring time! Between the supermarket aisles while they're shopping these pretty city folk would chat without stopping vainly the birds are welcoming spring with their song they'll wear themselves out e'er very long while lads and lasses never tire of ringing! Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1019370 Composed by Kevin Longley. Christian,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 12 pages. Kevin Longley #6532899. Published by Kevin Longley (A0.1019370). Bring His LoveInspiration (below is a note I sent to my sister) Hi Karen! In the fall of last year I started working on a new church anthem for FUMC. Over the years your choir has sung several pieces of mine; so I felt I should do something in return. I quickly got an idea for the music only (sometimes I will get some lyric ideas also, but didn't this time.) By the first of the year I had the basic structure sketched out on paper but then put it aside for Easter Rehearsals. When the pandemic stopped all church choirs I returned to the music and by early May had the score in the computer, close to completion. At that point I still didn't have any lyrics but began feeling that it should be about God's creation. All I could envision was a singer with his arms stretched out to the sun, the ocean, the moon, etc. while singing this piece. So I started searching for a possible prayer that might fit and came upon Canticle of the Son. As I read it through I liked the structure and began sketching out the lyrics. I couldn't help but wonder what our response should be to God's creation. How should we thank him or praise him or take care of it? I then turned my thoughts to FUMC and considered this - what phrase would sum up this churches mission? I almost immediately got Bring His Love. From there the balance of the lyrics fell into place. So attached is the recording and the music. I have no expectations but hope you and the choir enjoy the music. The Music The piece starts with 16th note broken chords in the upper register of the piano which lead to the opening theme. A tenor soloist begins by singing God's praises for all he has given us; ending with the thought How can we thank such kindness?; The answer Bring His Love the B section. At its conclusion we are returned to the opening theme, this time sung by the choir which again leads us to the same questionHow can we thank such kindness?, The answer Bring His Love the B section. A C section is then introduced with a change to a more beat driven accompaniment with the vocals alternating between the upper and lower voices. A return to the opening theme, with minimal chordal accompaniment, features the original soloist but then adds a second voice leading to a duet and a return to the broken chord accompaniment.. Finally the B section,Bring His Love is repeated and concludes in a rousing fashion.. Program Notes The piece could work very well for Earth Day celebrations.
