SATB Chorus & Piano - Digital Download SKU: IZ.VMW227 Composed by Ernest Brandon. Octavo. 8 pages. Imagine Music - Digital #VMW227. Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.VMW227). 9 x 12 inches.“Paris Without You is a piece for solo tenor saxophonist and orchestra with jazz quartet accompaniment. By way of introduction of the piece, in 2012, I met my wife, and very early on we had different trips planned. I was going to visit family and Cindy was going back to Paris, a place she had visited many times. So it was that we were almost literally a world apart. Upon both our returns, Cindy shared her many photos of Paris with me, a place I have never been. These photos were but a few that really made an impression on me and made me feel almost as I were there, even though Cindy was there (in one of the most romantic places in the world) as musicians would say, “solo. So the title of this piece suggests a telling of the story in pictures from her perspective. In performing this piece, it is preferable to have a tenor saxophonist who is equally comfortable in an orchestral setting as in a jazz quintet setting. Though all the jazz quintet parts are very specifically written, with either chord voicings and suggested solos, there is room for improvisation in these parts, but using a keen ear and direction to know when to align properly with the orchestra. In my recording of this piece, Maynard Ferguson Band alumni, Andy Weinzler is the featured tenor saxophonist. Many Western New York musicians came together to record this piece, and I thank them all for their incredible musicianship and willingness to perform this piece.

Published by Christopher Brown (A0.747215). About the song: In Psalm 22:22, David writes, I will praise You to all my brothers; I will stand up before the congregation and testify to the wonderful things You have done. Again, in Psalm 66:16, the psalmist says, Come and listen, all you who fear God, and I will tell you what He did for me. Jesus, after healing a man with a demon, commands the man to go home... and report the great things the Lord has done for you, and how He had mercy on you. Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.879627 Composed by Stephanie Martin. A Cappella,Christian,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 36 pages. Biretta Books #3518053. Published by Biretta Books (A0.879627). The Traditional Latin Requiem Mass is a musical genre that brought the Western musical tradition important works ranging from composers such as Mozart, Faure, Berlioz, Verdi, Palestrina and Victoria. This is a newly composed setting of the Latin text of the Requiem Mass from Stephanie Martin, a master of the choral idiom. This setting of the Requiem has solid choral writing, beautiful melody and rich harmonies. It is that sort of sensuous music that is choirs love to sing, and which stirs the hearts of listeners. In 2017, All Souls’ Church in San Diego, California, commissioned Martin to composed a Requiem for All Souls. Martin’s Requiem for All Souls was premiered on Souls’ Day, November 2, 2017, and dedicated in loving memory of The Reverend Edward Kellogg. On the day before the premiere, Chris Jennewein of the Times of San Diego wrote: This is the first major musical commission in the church’s history, but follows the centuries-long tradition of churches commissioning new music from significant composers. ‘Today many people don’t realize that the music commissioned by churches for performance during Masses, holy days, and other ceremonies forms a part of what we now call classical music,’ says Ruben Valenzuela, who is All Souls’ Director of Music and will conduct the premiere. So many of the landmark works we still love and perform were in many cases commissioned by churches or other religious institutions. Martin’s 25-minute Requiem for All Souls is set to the traditional Latin text of the Requiem Mass and will be performed a cappella. Valenzuela describes it as a work of pure, beautiful vocal music grounded in traditional church music.

Published by Moonhouse Music (A0.749985). During the Covid 19 lockdown the community choir Amber Valley Voices have worked with their MD Angie Cope and accompanist and composer Chris Lawry to write a lock down inspired song to rehearse in their Zoom rehearsals to hopefully use in their forthcoming concerts once restrictions are eased and we can begin to meet and sing together again.Much love to all out there that can't sing together yet; we are feeling your pain with you!Sheet music (for Unison, SA and SATB choir) available from www.chrislawry.com. If you need a backing track or leadsheet, or anything, please get in touch using: contact@chrislawry.com   Lyrics: Waiting by the window, Parcels at the door, Kisses left hanging in the air. Doorstep daughters and street-side sons, It's the little things to show that you still care. ]Smiles from total strangers we pass along the way, Neighbours that speak now ev’ry day. Time for conversations, time for souls to touch It’s the little things that now mean oh so much. The little things that mean so much The little things we miss and those we don’t, as such The little things: a sight, a sound, a smell, a touch. It’s the little things that now mean oh so much. A letter from a loved one, flowers from a friend The look that says I know, I understand Early morning birdsong, a woodlands dappled light, It’s the outward signs of natures healing hand.To wander through a meadow, to drink in cleaner air New life bursts out around us ‘midst our pain. So much has been lost at immeasurable cost But together we’ll rebuild our world again. The little things that mean so much The little things we miss and those we don’t, as such The little things: a sight, a sound, a smell, a touch. It’s the little things that now mean oh so much. The little things that mean so much The little things we miss and those we don’t, as such The little things: a sight, a sound, a smell, a touch. It’s the little things that now mean oh so much.

SATB choir and piano or wind quintet and piano - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.4286-E Composed by Libby Larsen. Choral score. 52 pages. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #4286-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.4286-E). English. This piece is a three-part collection based on poetry by American pioneers. The texts are full of a kind of raw energy, swashbuckling attitude, and profundity of heart and commitment characteristic of those settlers west of the Hudson. I had also looked at the more erudite essays of Coleridge-Taylor, Thoreau, and Emerson but chose the rougher stanzas because the primitive voices, the pioneers, were profound, simply in the way they expressed the nature of their experiences. The first piece, 'Comin’ to Town,' is about cowboys after a month on the range—bawdy, rowdy, and raucous. The second, 'Beneath These Alien Stars,' is about the bonding of the human spirit to the land. The third piece, 'A Hoopla,' depicts a barn dance and vocalists circle ‘round the instruments, stomp, clap, and generally perform with abandon, vigor, and boisterousness. The Settling Years was commissioned and premiered by The Singing Sergeants and the United States Air Force Band for the 150th anniversary of the Music Educators National Convention.-Libby LarsenInstrumental Parts include: Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Horn, Bassoon, and Piano.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.522260 Composed by Colin Kirkpatrick. Holiday,Patriotic. Octavo. 33 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #6028587. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.522260). This choral work is sure to add excitement to your concert and it was given splendid reviews when it was first performed at London’s Royal Albert Hall. It was later performed at Croydon’s Fairfield Halls just outside London where it received a rapturous reception from the large audience. The work is ideal for music festivals (for which it was originally written) or any important event which needs a celebratory piece for choir and orchestra. The piece celebrates the endless joy of life and light, as children play on the seashore. The choral parts are not difficult and parts of the soprano could also be sung by children’s chorus if necessary. The words of the soprano solo part have a reflective, maternal quality as she watches the children playing on the shore. Singers are sure to enjoy the catchy melodies, the expressive soprano solo and the dramatic middle section of this work. Parts of the piece use several irregular time signatures. Don’t let them put you off! They are good deal easier than they look and the score contains indicates how they break down into simple units of two and three beats. The choral score contains a piano reduction of the orchestral score. The full orchestral score and parts are available separately from SMP. The orchestration is standard and requires: 2 flutes and piccolo, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets in B flat, 2 bassoons; 4 horns in F, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, 1 tuba, timpani, percussion (4 players), violin 1, violin 2, viola, cello, double bass. A high-quality audio file containing the orchestral accompaniment is also available. The words are by the distinguished and much-loved Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore (1861-1941). He made significant contributions to literature and wrote a prodigious number of works including essays, philosophical treatises, journals, memoirs, short stories and letters. The text of this work is taken from two poems in the book entitled Gitanjali. The title is translated as Song Offerings and was largely responsible for Tagore winning the Nobel Prize for Literature. The book contains over one hundred poems, translated freely by the author into English from the original Bengali, published in 1910. The English version appeared in 1912 published by the Indian Society of London. The text has been adapted slightly for this choral setting.Colin Kirkpatrick has published a great deal of music and his publishers include Boosey & Hawkes, Novello, Paxton, Schott, Oxford University Press, Chester and Belwin Mills. His music has been performed and broadcast world-wide.

Published by Con Spirito Music (A0.1439047). “Let All the World in Ev’ry Corner Sing” is a short poem from the collection, The Temple, by Anglican priest, poet, and orator George Herbert (1593-1633). A contemporary of William Shakespeare and John Milton, God-child to poet John Donne, Herbert is associated with the 17th-century Metaphysical poets and “is remembered as a pivotal figure: enormously popular, deeply and broadly influential, and arguably the most skillful and important British devotional lyricist of his or any other time.” Shortly before his death in 1633 at age 39, Herbert directed that a manuscript of his religious poems be sent to his fellow clergyman and friend, Nicholas Ferrar, reportedly saying, “Tell him ... if he can think it may turn to the advantage of any dejected poor Soul, let it be made publick: if not, let him burn it: for I and it, are less than the least of God’s mercies.” First published in 1633, The Temple was an enormously popular work, totaling more than 20,000 copies printed in 13 editions between 1633 and 1679.“Let All the World in Ev'ry Corner Sing” is the refrain of Herbert’s poem, “Antiphon (I),” which appeared in the “Christian Life” section of The Temple. An antiphon may be defined as a short sentence or refrain sung or recited before or after a psalm or canticle; and in Herbert's short poem of two stanzas, he may also have intended that the verses be recited antiphonally (alternately) by two groups. The third stanza in this setting for SATB voices and organ, a doxology by an unknown author, was added in the 19th century. ©Copyright 2024 Todd Marchand / Con Spirito Music (ASCAP). For more sacred, patriotic, folk, and popular music for instruments and voices, visit www.conspiritomusic.com
