SATB choir divisi and soloists (soprano, tenor, and two baritones), with organ or brass ensemble - Digital Download SKU: OX.9780193536319 Composed by Bob Chilcott. Sheet music. Octavo. 16 pages. Oxford University Press Digital #9780193536319. Published by Oxford University Press Digital (OX.9780193536319). ISBN 9780193536319.SATB choir (with divisions) and soloists (soprano, tenor, and two baritones), with organ or brass ensemble Chilcott's mighty setting of words from the Gospel of St John is a dramatic yet optimistic retelling of the Passiontide story. As with Bach's great Passion settings, the role of the Evangelist is taken by the tenor soloist, who provides a melodious narrative throughout the work, in arioso style. The words of Jesus and Pilate are performed by solo baritones. Within the narrative, the SATB chorus becomes a crowd or a group of soldiers, commenting on the story in short outbursts, although the larger role of the choir is to perform the four meditations and five hymns that support the story. For the meditations-two of which include soprano solos-Chilcott has selected English poems from the 13th to the early 17th centuries. The five well-known hymn texts are set to new, original melodies, which are also intended for performance by an audience or congregation.

Kevin G. Pace #1003305. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1421969). A moving, sacred choral composition.  Music by Kevin G. Pace.  Text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.Text:Even As a Child“ . . . becometh as a child, submissive, . . .†- (Mosiah 3:19)When Jesus was a child, he reasoned with the scribes,Desiring to teach them at the temple spires.Because his age was twelve, He stayed in Nazareth,Growing much in wisdom’s path, gaining holy breath. He waited patiently, his ministry to come . . .Yielding to his Father’s will; He was God’s own Son.He trusted as He lived with all obedience,Even as He faced, with strength, many mortal threats. Then when his end was nigh, when none would intercede,Standing before Pilate’s face, He did never plead. He firmly held his peace and answered to no man.Nearing his own death He pled: Clean those soldier’s hands! In honor He did live, thus showing us the way.Now He only begs that we, too, can God obey.Oh, even as this Child abandoned earthly hopes,Can we also live our lives with our Savior yoked?Chorus:Will we also give to Him each worldly desire,Even as this Child of God, and so be lifted higher?

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.818371 By Stephen R Dalrymple. By Stephen R Dalrymple (Dalrymple Designs). Arranged by Stephen R Dalrymple. Sacred. Octavo. 32 pages. Stephen R Dalrymple #6709745. Published by Stephen R Dalrymple (A0.818371). Hope of the World: 12 Your King Comes Riding original song for SATB choir and piano by Stephen R Dalrymple (with optional parts for Shofar or Trumpet)   sequenced by the composer music © 1999 Stephen R Dalrymple recording ℗ 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple presentation © 2022 Stephen R Dalrymple based on Zechariah 9, Psalm 118, and Matthew 21 ♫ Many of the predictions of Zechariah are futuristic, looking far ahead in history. There was no king of Judah in Zechariah’s day. The former exiles who had returned to Judah were under the authority of the Persians. Any king would have to be authorized by the higher secular authority. But Zechariah foresees a king who will enter Jerusalem, riding on a donkey. ♫ The choice of the animal here is important. The donkey is the beast of burden of the common man. (Analogous to an economic or dilapidated automobile.) Horses were primarily used by soldiers; something like a victor riding into town in a tank. Mules (Jewish law forbade the breeding of hybrid animals) were the choice of the wealthy. In Judea, they were evidently imported. David had Solomon ride into Jerusalem on his mule (something like a sports car.) But Zechariah sees Messiah will presenting Himself as king riding the transportation of the common person. On Psalm Sunday, about a week before Jesus’ death, the crowds quoted Zechariah 9 and Psalm 118 as Jesus offered Himself to the nation as king. ♫ Hope of the World is made of 2 suites of songs that present messianic prophecies from the Old Testament that are referenced in the New Testament. The first 8 songs center on the birth of Christ, the last 9, Christ’s life and passion. ♫ Includes 1) full score 2) SATB choir part on 2 staves 3) optional shofur part 4) optional trumpet part 5)full score for 10 inch tablet ♫ (Tell your computer which pages you want to print. SATB choir unaccompanied - Medium - Digital Download SKU: MQ.8320-E Composed by Ronald Perera. Advanced/Collegiate. Secular, Christmas, Christmas-Sacred. Octavo. 14 pages. Duration 4 minutes, 40 seconds. E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital #8320-E. Published by E. C. Schirmer Music Company - Digital (MQ.8320-E). This setting of the well known Christmas poem 'I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day' restores some of the language that is commonly left out of most hymnals. This setting restores some of the anguish associated with the Civil War and allows for a tension not often associated with this text. A powerful setting. The title of the original Longfellow poem is 'Christmas Bells.' Charles Appleton Longfellow was the eldest son of the famous poet Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and Fannie Elizabeth Appleton, who lived in Cambridge, Massachusetts. In March of 1863, with the Civil War then in its third year, nineteen year old Charley ran away to Washington to join the Union Army. He presented himself for enlistment to the commander of Battery A of the 1st Massachusetts Artillery, who knew the boy. The officer contacted Henry who reluctantly gave his permission for the boy to enlist. Charley proved himself such an exceptional soldier that he was soon offered a commission as a Second Lieutenant of Artillery. He first saw action at the Battle of Chancellorsville. In June he was briefly invalided home following a bout of typhoid fever and malaria, rejoining his unit in August. Then in November, during the Battle of New Hope Church, Charley was shot through the left shoulder, the bullet just grazing his spine. He narrowly avoided being paralyzed. Henry received word of Charley’s wounding on December 1, and he and a younger son went immediately to Washington, where Charley was in hospital, and brought him home to Cambridge. It was while nursing his son in his slow recovery that Henry Wadsworth Longfellow composed this poem during Christmas, 1863. -Ronald PereraDuration: 4:40.
