Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1095125 Composed by Mark Lehnowsky. A Cappella,Contest,Festival,Historic,Patriotic,Spiritual. Octavo. 11 pages. Mark Lehnowsky Music #699184. Published by Mark Lehnowsky Music (A0.1095125). This is a challenging SSAATTBB setting of Otto Leland Bohanan's Harlem Renaissance poem of the same name. My musical adolescence was spent singing music of the African and African American traditions with Essence of Joy. This piece, written for them in 2015, was inspired by those experiences and integrates spirituals that had special significance to me during my time in EOJ. There are quotations from Over My Head; Bye and Bye; My Lord, What a Morning; Great Day; and Oh, Freedom. During the climax of the piece, these spirituals combine into a moving tapestry of half-forgotten songs. As with most of my music, there is a numerological Easter Egg, a hidden message in the structure of the piece itself, for those music theorists who like deep diving into pieces they are singing. My Lord, what a morning...

Choral Alto Voice,Bass Voice,Soprano voice,Tenor Voice (SATB) - Level 5 - Interactive Download SKU: A0.726326 Composed by Barron Brothers. This edition: Interactive Download. Folk,World. Octavo. 25 pages. Duration 281. Barron Brothers #6JvK5OaFLfcELYSz4fsbms. Published by Barron Brothers (A0.726326). Key: Ab major.**NJMEA Finalist Composition** Sun Tracks The track of the Sun across the sky leaves its shining, eternal message Illuminating, strengthening, warming... all of us who are here It shows us we are not alone. We are not alone. We are yet alive. And this fire, our fire shall not die! *- Atoni* Iyo he, iyo he; iyo he, iyo he; He, he, he, iyo he. - *Choctaw war dance* ...... Tribute to the Trail of Tears is an original SATB choir song commemorating my Choctaw heritage. When I wrote this song, I wanted to look at the Trail of Tears from the Choctaws' eyes. I did this by emphasizing the contrast between their anger with the shouting taken from a Choctaw war chant and hope with a Choctaw Sun Prayer (the sun is an important figure of hope in Choctaw spirituality), their English traditions forced upon them and their true Choctaw nature, and the betrayal of a government that was supposed to protect them. This song is designed to be slow and relaxed (~70bpm for the first part and ~85bpm for the piu mosso), with the bends representing relaxed glissandos in the voice. The last three chords are meant to be sensitive and should be taken very slowly. Keep in mind that this piece should not only be meaningful but convey the emotions to spread the Native awareness that is so direly needed in America.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 1 - Digital Download SKU: A0.723296 Composed by Mary Ann Baker, H.R. Palmer. Arranged by Garrett Breeze. Easter,Praise & Worship,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 7 pages. Lagom Music #6093717. Published by Lagom Music (A0.723296). This arrangement by Garrett Breeze is easy to learn and fun to sing! The men and women sing the first and second verses respectively in unison, then come together on the third verse in familiar harmony. The piano part is full of movement, evoking the motion of the ocean as it ebbs and flows. An excited and accessible arrangement suitable for many different kinds of church services.Visit https://garrettbreeze.com to read my blog and discover new music!Check out my catalog of choral music at https://holidaychoirmusic.com!Subscribe to my YouTube channel at https://bit.ly/35HZC2d!Lyrics:Master the tempest is raging! The billows are tossing high! The sky is o'ershadowed with blackness. No shelter or help is nigh. Carest thou not that we perish? How canst thou lie asleep when each moment so madly is threat'ning a grave in the angry deep?Master with anguish of spirit I bow in my gried today. The depths of my sad heart are troubled. Oh, waken and save, I pray! Torrents of sin and of anguish sweep o'er my sinking soul, and I perish! I perish! dear Master. Oh hasten and take control!Master, the terror is over, the elements sweetly rest. Earth's sun in the calm lake is mirrored, and heaven's within my breast. Linger, o blessed Redeemer! Leave me alone no more, and with joy I shall make the blest harbor and rest on the blissful shore. The winds and the waves shall obey thy will: Peace, be still. Whether the wrath of the stormtossed sea or demons or men or whatever it be, no waters can swallow the ship where lies the Master of ocean and earth and skies. They all shall sweetly obey Thy will: Peace, be still. Peace, be still. They all shall sweetly obey Thy will: Peace, peace, be still.

Octavo. 10 pages. Mark Lehnowsky Music #700179. Published by Mark Lehnowsky Music (A0.1097087). Premiered by Dr. Anthony Leach and Essence of Joy at the Celebration of African American Spirituals (now known as the African American Music Festival), this arrangement was a hit at ACDA National Convention in Chicago. From concept to premiere in under a month, Wade in the Water quickly became a choir favorite. It is an in-your-face fusion of styles that ends with an enormous bang. It has a steep learning curve, but your choir will take enormous pride in the accomplishment. Its effect on audiences is special; I personally guarantee it. If you do this piece, I would like to know. Please email me in advance. I am more than happy to meet with your choir. There are some stories that will entertain them.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1277132 Composed by Adrian Gagiu. 21st Century,Christian,Classical,Latin. Octavo. 128 pages. Adrian Gagiu #868444. Published by Adrian Gagiu (A0.1277132). Missa Solemnis in B major, op. 27, vocal score and piano part (for rehearsal purposes only). Based on its Neo-classical style, this setting of the Roman Catholic mass text could possibly work as a festive mass (missa solemnis) with trumpets and timpani, and its duration would fit such a solemn service. However, its intense and sometimes dramatic treatment and universal addressability due to its well-known and rather concentrated text, yet also due to eliminating the „Filioque” (which would still fit the rhythm of the repeated „qui ex Patre”, should any Catholics ever wish to perform this as a mass) make it rather a „liturgical oratorio for all nations”, more appropriate in the concert hall. The work has had a long gestation: imagined in 1984 after the composer’s first contact with Beethoven’s masterpiece, then sketched first in 1987-1989, and many of its themes date back from those years. Its working out is quite polyphonic, discretely modal and cyclical, and also full of centuries-old musical symbols traditionally associated with the setting of the mass text: e.g. unisons for the more dogmatical parts, Baroque dotted rhythms at the Nativity (the first coming of the  King of Kings), „rex caelestis” and also at his Passion (whose setting is discretely inspired by folkloric Romanian laments), the „anabasis” gesture at „Gloria in excelsis Deo”, „et ascendit in caelis”, „in remissionem peccatorum” and the resurrection, a flute trill standing for the Holy Spirit who has come ’like a dove’ at „et incarnatus est”, a cross-shaped texture at „crucifixus”, and some word-painting (hushed sonorities at „et invisibilium”, anticipations between orchestra and chorus at „et exspecto” etc.). Moreover, certain symbolic roles are assigned to the instrumental groups when alone (the organ represents God the Father and transcendence, the winds and/or solo voices represent God the Son and humanity, and the strings represent the Holy Spirit). „Kyrie” is restrained and soft, besides the powerful chords opening the respective sections of its tripartite, simple structure, and it leans towards Palestrina’s serene modality and counterpoint. „Gloria” begins with a colorful orchestral introduction depicting discretely the shepherds who kept watch over their flocks right before the Nativity, and then gradually the bright revelation. „Credo” has an orchestral introduction as well, but powerful, recurring and based on the beginning of the plainchant hymn „Pange lingua”, made famous by Mozart’s last symphony and by other Classical composers. Both „Gloria” and „Credo” end with extended, powerful and elaborate fugues („in gloria Dei Patris” and „et vitam venturi saeculi”, respectively) with dramatic modulations and sometimes with enthusiastic syncopations at odds with the words’ accents, a la Stravinsky. The same sections plus „Agnus Dei” end with soft quartal harmonies suggesting transcendent appeasement (similar harmonies appear powerfully at the beginning of „Sanctus”). „Judicare” quotes the beginning of the well-known „Dies irae” plainchant tune, and the Consecration between the „Sanctus” and „Benedictus” sections is represented by a contemplative prelude for solo organ, quoting Lutheran chorales, too. Another long orchestral introduction, suggesting the Last Judgment and based on traditional Byzantine hymns, opens „Agnus Dei”, which includes another quotation (the famous ’Dresden Amen’ at „qui tollis peccata mundi” and „dona nobis pacem”). In the final section, with its refined simplicity, the choral voices enter in descending order, and the „Kyrie eleison” theme is briefly remembered, then it ends softly and peacefully. Total duration: 50 min. Performing Rights Organization: SOCAN. The mp3 audio clip is Kyrie.

Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1096104). A beautiful sacred hymn of the Savior. Music by Kevin G. Pace. Text by Mark R. Fotheringham. Text: Calvary is far away On a little hill, Where the Son was crucified To fulfill God's will. Rock and stone washed clean with time No longer bear the stain Of blood our Savior shed for man, By whom the Lord was slain. Nature wept to hide the deed. Wind would scour His pain, To leave behind a promise true That we shall live again. Far too is Gethsemane, Hidden 'midst the trees, Where he suffered for our sins, Fallen on His knees. There he drank the bitter cup, With none His pain to ease. The garden mutely heard His groans Dispersed upon the breeze. Ev'ry bough in reverence bent To His grief unseen, In honor of His sacrifice, That man could now be clean. Christ is not so far away, Nor His loving care. All creation sings His praise, Knowing He is there. See Him in each blooming flower, In rivers streaming by. Then feel Him in each mighty gale, Each snowflake in the sky. Glory Lord is thine alone. Earth still sings Thy fame, 'Til all shall bow before Thy throne, Remembering Thy name.
