Choral Choir (Mixed) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796870 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Stephanie Daige. Baroque,Concert. Octavo. 29 pages. Stephanie Daige #3377603. Published by Stephanie Daige (A0.796870). This little fugue is one of Bach's most famous and beloved organ works.  Re-imagined for double reed choir, it is a challenging and fun setting for this fugue.  The different instruments take turns entering with the subject of the fugue, and interplay back and forth with the other instruments.  The timbres of the different instruments adds a whole new textural dimension to this already fascinating work by J.S. Bach.  I considered the need to breathe for each of these wind instruments, which obviously wasn't an issue for the original version intended for organ.  This piece would be appropriate for advanced high school students, college students, or professionals.  It would do well in a chamber music concert, in a church, or between acts of a larger ensemble concert, perhaps in another location of the auditorium while a (quiet!) set change is taking place.  It would also work well as prelude or lobby music.  The duration is just over three minutes (or longer if you prefer to take it slower).  Each measure is numbered individually for convenience during rehearsals.  I hope you will enjoy performing this piece as much as I have enjoyed arranging it!  There are also versions of this piece available for wind and brass quintets.  Please check out my other arrangements at: http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/stephanie-daige/6875

Stephanie Martin’s Ascension, Salute the Everlasting Day is written in a festive anthem for SATB choir (div.) and organ for the Feast of the Ascension. In York University’s School of Arts,Media,Performance and Design she teaches music history, composition, harpsichord and organ, and coaches historical ensembles.ReviewsWhen someone says new music, most people imagine something abstract or conceptual, probably dissonant and experimental...Martin is a great tone painter who serves her texts with great attention to detail while also drawing the us along in a broader musical narrative...Martin, who was director of music at Toronto’s Church of St Mary Magdalene for several years, is particularly effective in setting texts with a devotional bent.John Terauds Musical Toronto & Toronto Star

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.990685 Composed by Stephanie K. Andrews. Contemporary. Octavo. 29 pages. Stephanie K Andrews #6432151. Published by Stephanie K Andrews (A0.990685). Crystal Veil Suite was composed in 2018 for REVEL, an Austin, Texas based classical music group led by Dr. Carla McElhaney, and for Chorus Austin, also of Austin, Texas, Ryan Heller, Artistic Director. The premiere of the piece took place on December 1, 2018, at the Existential Solstice concert, part of REVEL's Radio Project concert series. The Existential Solstice concert, a collaboration between REVEL and Chorus Austin, featured music and poetry meant to elicit vivid imagery of winter scenes. As a lifelong Texan, this required a stretching of my creativity, as you well might imagine. The A section of the first movement, The Snow, was written in Phyrigian mode to evoke the melancholy mood that may accompany a long winter, with descending patterns in the viola and the right hand of the piano painting a gentle snowfall. The B section contrasts with a faster tempo, suggesting an intensification of the snowfall, before returning to the melancholic A section. The second movement, Frost and Wind, paints a snowstorm with its faster tempo, swirling winds in the right hand of the piano and in the choir, and bitter frost evinced in all voices. Finally, in the third movement, Snow, a shift to the major mode and tranquil melodic lines suggests a return to a gentle snowfall following the storm, with contemplative motives in all voices, until a lone robin's voice and sunlight bring us hope of spring's return.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1272763 Composed by Stephanie K. Andrews. 21st Century,Chamber,Classical,Sacred,Traditional. Octavo. 20 pages. Stephanie K Andrews #864958. Published by Stephanie K Andrews (A0.1272763). Written in December of 2020 for Be near me when my light is low, a collaborative Requiem by the composers of Inversion Ensemble (a conductor-composer collaborative based in Austin, Texas), the Offertory movement text is a modern English rendition of the Offertory (“Domine Jesu Christe†and “Hostias et preces tibi, Domineâ€) from the traditional Latin Requiem Mass. The Offertory is introduced by a light, flowing sixteenth note pattern in the righthand of the piano that is rhythmically repetitive and meditative. The voices then appear in unison at first, gradually beginning to divide into harmony as the piece progresses until at the word death they fall back into a stark, unaccompanied unison. The Archangel Michael appears in the section that follows, leading the souls of the faithful to eternal light as the music crescendos and moves through an accelerando, ending on a triumphant C major chord on the final repetition of eternal light. A motive of assurance that this light is promised to the faithful for all eternity is presented in E-flat major, a motive that will reappear in the finale of the piece. The flowing sixteenth notes and harmonic shifts of the first section return at Sacrifices and praises we offer you, O Lord. The movement concludes with a fugue in the victorious key of C major, once again offering comfort to Christ's faithful ones through the assurance of heavenly light for all eternity.

Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1272747 By Traditional. By Stephanie K. Andrews. 21st Century,A Cappella,Chamber,Christmas,Sacred. Octavo. 11 pages. Stephanie K Andrews #864941. Published by Stephanie K Andrews (A0.1272747). O Magnum Mysterium was composed in Austin, Texas in mid-2020 and lovingly dedicated to the Parish Choir at All Saints' Episcopal Church in Austin, Texas, the composer's home parish for over a decade, and to Gregory Eaton, Organist-Choirmaster of All Saints'. From measures 17-21, homage is paid to Irish composer Sir Charles Villiers Stanford (1852-1924), whose Beati quorum via has been sung by the All Saints' Parish Choir on a number of occasions.Written in the midst of a pandemic during which choirs could not sing together without risk of infection, this was composed in anticipation of the joyous day when we are all able to once again sing together, and as a reminder that, even in the darkest of times, wonder, beauty, awe, mystery, and the love and light of Christ remain with us now and forevermore.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.990676 Composed by Stephanie K. Andrews. Sacred. Octavo. 9 pages. Stephanie K Andrews #3680001. Published by Stephanie K Andrews (A0.990676). I was inspired to write The Peace Prayer as this particular prayer has proven to be an uplifting source of strength, encouragement, and renewal throughout my life, especially in times of adversity. As there is no repetition in the words of the prayer, the piece is through-composed with a significant amount of text painting for textual emphasis: for example, the gradual building of the D major chord of the word light to paint a transformation as light dispels darkness. In the final measures, the Amen progresses from B-flat major to C major to D major, portraying hope, joy, and peace as the soul is uplifted and enlightened by the power and majesty of this incredibly inspiring prayer.
