Please contact me by email at jfries@ptd.net to make a special request or to find out all that I have to offer and to express your comments or concerns. Thanks, John.  The song spent six weeks at number one on the US Billboard Hot 100 pop singles chart in the spring of 1969 and was eventually certified platinum in the US by the RIAA.  Instrumental backing was written by Bill Holman and provided by session musicians commonly known as the Wrecking Crew.  As Holman tells it, the recording can be traced to an incident in which 5th Dimension lead singer Billy Davis Jr. left his wallet in a New York City cab; the man who found the wallet was involved in the production of Hair and invited the group to see the show:  After they'd seen it I received a phone call in which they were all talking over one another, saying 'We've got to cut this song Aquarius.  It's the best thing ever.'.

Alleluia, Amen
Composed by: David Richard Corkill
In Loving Memory of Charles David Vasquez (June 13, 1968 - February 5th, 2022)
SATB Choir A Capella

The piece is Alleluia, Amen, an a cappella composition for SATB choir, imbued with a spirit of faithful energy and enthusiasm. From the outset, the choir's voices soar with a sense of exuberance, their collective energy filling the cathedral with an uplifting resonance. The sopranos lead the charge, their voices soaring like angelic heralds, while the altos provide a rich, grounding counterpoint. The tenors and basses add depth and dimension, their voices intertwining with the higher registers to create a tapestry of sound that is both powerful and intricate.

As the piece progresses, the choir's enthusiasm never wavers. Each phrase is delivered with a sense of conviction and devotion, their voices resonating with the joy of praising their faith. The harmonies are tight and precise, yet there is an underlying sense of spontaneity and passion that elevates the performance beyond mere technical perfection.

The piece culminates in a climactic crescendo, the choir's voices rising in a glorious proclamation of faith. The final Amen rings out with unwavering conviction, leaving a lingering sense of awe and inspiration in its wake. As the final notes fade, the audience is left with a renewed sense of hope and devotion, their spirits lifted by the choir's infectious energy and unwavering faith.
