Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.784652 Composed by P.F. Tillen. Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 13 pages. PFTMusic #3227487. Published by PFTMusic (A0.784652). Regnum Pacis... The Reign of PeaceA choral setting of the Isaiah 11 text: There shall come forth a shoot from the stock of Jesse, and a branch shall grow out of his roots... Then shall the lion dwell with the lamb, then the leopard shall lie down with the kid, the wolf and the lion cub together, with a little child to lead them... Contemplative, with rich harmonies, quiet, but ultimately hopeful, as the season of Advent itself. You will find this this piece fits perfectly in worship services of lessons and carols, as well as Advent, and Christmas season services and concerts. Accessible to a good high school, college/university, or church mixed choir. The piano part is challenging, but not difficult. Soprano splits occasionally, otherwise, solid four part writing; lyrical melodies, lush harmonies, but no extremes in range. Please check for more piano music, sacred and secular choral and vocal selections at pftmusic.com.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.862512 Composed by Michael Bomier. 20th Century,Christian,Jewish,Sacred,Standards. Octavo. 5 pages. Michael Butkus-Bomier #2032239. Published by Michael Butkus-Bomier (A0.862512). If God Is... love, hope, peace or Justice to your faith community, this anthem will give you a chance to sing out that truth, in a clearly contrapuntal SATB setting that also has rich harmony. The secret is in having each melodic voice be as smooth as possible, so that any passing dissonances or non-chord-tones are moved to in the closest, most natural way for the intermediate singer. The piece has been performed at services in Wisconsin. It also makes a good concert selection for any liberal religious school choir, or any secular group that wishes to acknowledge the roots of choral music in liturgical traditions, while keeping a non-denominational stance. The audio clip is a wordless vocal MIDI file, which shows the melody and harmony. The lyric can be read from the first page of the example. Running time is approx. 3 mins. MBB.

Minus-One Tracks, 5. Rhythm Track, 6. Recording Stems (for those who wish to use their own Digital Audio Workstation).Composed by the Canadian Celtic singer Loreena McKennitt, Mummers' Dance has its roots in a centuries old tradition in which a roving band of costumed actors travels and puts on performances for people throughout the land. McKennitt's lyrics speak of the beautiful natural settings in which these mummers would live and work, and the musical landscape is matched perfectly in this arrangement, featuring both sustained and open sounds and exotic melismatic figures that would normally be played by period instruments. This arrangement features a break-out treble-clef soloist, with some modern reharmonization included to employ the vocal jazz aesthetic, and a polyphonic, wordless development section increases the energy of the piece before it winds down at the end, as if the mummers have moved on to travel to the next village.

Kevin G. Pace #920223. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1333944). A beautiful, sacred hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball.Text:Like a ground is cared for ere a crop is grown, As our seeds are planted deep in fertile loam, As we tend young saplings 'til the real growth starts, God can nurture promise in a swelling heart. Like a seed needs moisture from a rain to pour, As we bask in sunshine, always wanting more, As a thriving seed needs ample space to grow, God can give assurance He loves to bestow.Like the waiting needed 'til it's time to reap, As we pray when nature harms the crop we seek. As we pause for produce finally to appear, God can grant His blessings as we persevere.Chorus:God is He who gives the greatest yield,Pruning each one's soul 'til all are healed. He will strengthen us from His own roots,Then with patience we can reap the perfect fruit.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1319814 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Colin Kirkpatrick. Celtic,Folk,Historic,Irish. 10 pages. Colin Kirkpatrick Publications #908371. Published by Colin Kirkpatrick Publications (A0.1319814). This is one of the most well-known of all British folksongs and refers to real historical events. It has been used in film and television programs and known to almost everyone in Britain. Skye (also known as “The Isle of Skyeâ€) is the largest island of the Inner Hebrides. With an area of about 640 square miles, the island is about sixty miles long and lies close to the Scottish mainland.  The boat in the song (“Speed bonny boatâ€) refers to a small sailing ship that in 1746 “carried the lad who was born to be king†to the Isle of Skye. The lad in question was Prince Charles Edward Stuart known affectionately as “Bonnie Prince Charlie.†The song also refers to the Battle of Culloden of April 1746, the last ever battle on British soil, fought between the British Army and the army of Bonnie Prince Charlie.  In June 1746 and disguised as a maid-servant, Charles was secretly transported from the Hebridean island of Benbecula to the more southerly Isle of Skye. This is the event to which the song refers. The Skye Boat Song has its roots in a traditional Gaelic melody. The lyrics in this arrangement are the familiar ones written in the 1870s by Sir Harold Edwin Boulton. This is an easy SATB arrangement, with all vocal parts well within range and difficult leaps avoided. There are no divisi sections or solos, though can obviously create solos if you want. The keyboard part also avoids technical hurdles. Your singers will surely enjoy this joyful melody, with its contrasting verse and attractive counter-melodies. Vocal ranges are Soprano: D4 – D5; Alto: A3 (only once) – B4; Tenor: D3–D4; Bass: G2-B3.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.945510 Composed by Michael J. Van Slyke. A Cappella,Easter,Sacred. 9 pages. Van Slyke Audio #5888229. Published by Van Slyke Audio (A0.945510). The piece: Chorale: Messianicum, Prophetia, was not originally composed as a sacred work. Rather, it was an exercise; written to practice aural and written theory while I was a student at the University of Wyoming.  So, its roots were those of a Vocalise. Be that as it may, the harmonies are reminiscent of the music for Mass in the old Catholic cathedrals and churches.  Therefore I added a text taken from Isaiah 53: 3-5 from the the Vulgate to complement the music. There are moments where the music appears to be at odds with natural inflection of the Latin language and this is not an error.  Though there is a time signature indicating a meter, this is to facilitate greater ease in conducting and reading the music.  It is very much in free time and thus I invite the conductors and choirs performing this work to please refrain from following the metronome mark as if it were God reincarnate. Finally, a thank you to all musicians who suffer for my madness, the conductors and directors for taking a chance, my fellow composers for the inspiration they give, and my friends and family for the loving support they give to one, who for better of for worse, works hard at nothing all day.8 1/2 X 11 pre-prepped for Booklet Printing

Published by Lagom Music (A0.723486). This arrangement of Bring a Torch, Jeanette, Isabella draws its character from the story of the text, as well as the melody's historical roots as a drinking/dance song. Generally upbeat and uptempo, the mood of the music tracks closely to the story of Jeanette and Isabella, two young farmhands who have discovered the baby Jesus and rush to inform the whole town and bring them to the manger. Scored for evenly divided SSAATTBB a cappella voices, this powerful setting is a challenging but accessible concert number for more advanced choirs.Find more Christmas music at https://holidaychoirmusic.comVisit https://garrettbreeze.com for a cappella music, blog, and choral commissionsBring a torch! Jeanette, Isabella. Bring a torch, come quickly and run! Christ is born, tell the folk of the village. Mary has laid Him in a manger. Ah! Ah! Beautiful is the mother. Ah! Ah! Virtuous is the father. Ah! Ah! Wonderful is The Child. At the stable who now comes knocking? Who comes knocking upon the door? Grant us entrance, 'tis gifts we come bearing. All of our finest we shall give Him. Toc! Toc! Grant us entrance, gifts we bring. Toc! Toc! Celebrate now the Son!It is wrong when the baby is sleeping, it is wrong to speak so loud. Silence now as you gather around, lest your noise should waken Jesus. Hush! Hush! See how The Baby slumbers. Hush! Hush! See how He smiles in dreams! Hasten now, good folk of the village, hasten now, the Christ Child to see. You will find Him asleep in a manger, look at Him there, His cheeks are rosy! Haste! Haste! Follow Jeanette and run! Haste! Great for concerts about nature and the environment, pandemic life, creativity!Shelter in Place by Adrienne Inglis (ASCAP) for mixed SSAATB chorus with nature soundtrack created by Chris Clark-Johnsona setting of Shelter in Place, a poem by Kim Stafford Commissioned by Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, April 2021Founder, composer, and singer with Inversion Ensemble of Austin, Texas, Adrienne Inglis also serves as principal flute with the Central Texas Philharmonic, flute instructor at Southwestern University, and flutist with flute/harp duo Chaski. She has music degrees from Lewis and Clark College and the University of Texas at Austin. An avid birder and environmentalist, she lives in the rural hill country of Central Texas.Poet Kim Stafford grew up in Oregon, Iowa, Indiana, California, and Alaska, following his parents as they taught and traveled through the West. He is the author of a dozen books of poetry and prose, and the founding director of the Northwest Writing Institute at Lewis & Clark College, where he has taught since 1979. He holds a PhD in Medieval Literature from the University of Oregon, and has worked as a printer, photographer, oral historian, editor, and visiting writer at a host of colleges and schools, and offered writing workshops in Italy, Scotland, and Bhutan.Shelter in Place by Kim Stafford (used with permission)Long before pandemic prisoned us,the trees knew how to guard their placewith roots and shade.Moss found how to hug a stone for life.Every stream knows how to move in place, stay home and yet flow outward, sending bounty far.Now is our time to practice-now to sing from balconies, now send words of comfortby any courier, now to hoard lonesome generosity-and then to shine in all directions like stars.Program note: Shelter in Place (2021) by Adrienne Inglis, commissioned by Lewis & Clark College, Portland, Oregon, April 2021, sets former Oregon poet laureate Kim Stafford’s poem Shelter in Place (2020) for SSAATB mixed choir with Oregon nature soundtrack created by Chris Clark-Johnson, Lewis & C lark College class of 2021. Written during the coronavirus pandemic, the poem expresses how quarantine can serve as a conduit for healing, how words of comfort flow despite barriers, and how the paralysis of sheltering in place generates creative movement. The music and poem draw inspiration from ancient forest wisdom, shown musically with a pentatonic scale. The tight harmonies of Locrian mode bind moss to stone and stream to its own flow. Then vocal expression bursts forth with lush harmonies as singers serenade from balconies, sharing compassion through music. Returning to the pentatonic scale, we overcome obstacles and send generosity beyond our ancient and modern world into the celestial realm. The nature soundtrack features sounds of the Oregon forest, stream, and night sky.Acknowledgements: The composer warmly thanks Katherine FitzGibbon, Bailey Dean, Chris Clark-Johnson, Kim Stafford, and the Lewis & Clark College Community Chorale. Contact the composer to obtain the audio file of the nature soundtrack.Copyright © 2021 Adrienne Inglis | adrienne.inglis.com
