Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912481 Composed by Thomas R. Schadl. Christian,Contemporary,Easter,Romantic Period,Sacred. Octavo. 6 pages. Thomas R. Schadl #3019163. Published by Thomas R. Schadl (A0.912481). Based on Revelation 1: 5-6, Jesus Was The First To Conquer Death is an anthem that resembles the Victorian choral writings of Sir John Goss (1800-1880) and John Stainer (1840-1901). The first part states that Christ is the ruler of all earthly kings and should be sung at a stately manner, but not too slow. The next part, where the choir sings at a slower pace, is about Christ's love for humanity. The final section is performed at a moderately fast tempo and it is about Christ's eternal glory. The speed for the Amen section could be stretched to bring the anthem to a brilliant conclusion.    .

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.778383 Composed by Claudio Monteverdi. Arranged by Thomas R. Vozzella. Baroque,Renaissance,Sacred,Standards. 8 pages. Thomas R. Vozzella #6234743. Published by Thomas R. Vozzella (A0.778383). Claudio Monteverdi (1567-1643) composed Adoramus te, Christe the year the Pilgrims landed at Plymouth Rock (1620). He was an Italian composer, string player and choirmaster. A composer of both secular and sacred music, and a pioneer in the development of opera, he is considered a crucial transitional figure between the Renaissance and the Baroque periods of music history. After the loss of his wife and subsequent years of depression, Monteverdi found his own renaissance in the Basilica of Venice as their music director. He invented opera and poured himself into church music, eventually becoming a member of a monastic order after surviving the plague. His exquisite small pieces were a great part of his complete works. As he aged, they reflected his journey through the stages of faith.
