Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.969748 Composed by Kerry Barnes --- British Female Composer born 1962. Christmas,Contemporary. Octavo. 7 pages. Kerry barnes #4729505. Published by kerry barnes (A0.969748). Dicken's It's Christmas! A fun Christmas choral piece for any choir to sing!! Piano part 'really easy' too!! Very playful and festive. Based on the Christmas stories of Charles Dickens ...eg  A Christmas Carol with Ebeneezer and Jacob, Tiny Tim etc. Very catchy chorus in true Gilbert and Sullivan style!  Lots of 'unison' singing with NO harmonies to battle with! The chorus is men and women in Call and Response mode. Other Dickensian characters include Fagin, Nancy, Bill, Bullseye, Havisham's, Mr and Mrs Bumbles.  Two verses in 'spoken words' where soloists can indulge in their acting abilities too!!  The Coda Finale includes Descant parts mimicking London Bells in augmentation, whilst the piano part bulks up a bit with strong double octaves but slowly so still easy to play and finishing with everyone shouting aloud BAH HUMBUG!!

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.904849 Composed by Giorgia Todrani, Maurizio Fabrizio. Arranged by Marco Borsoi. Jazz,Pop,World. Octavo. 21 pages. Marco Borsoi #3512071. Published by Marco Borsoi (A0.904849). --------------- Strano il mio Destino is a piece of music by the Italian singer-songwriter Giorgia, 3rd at the Sanremo Festival 1996. The piece is on the album Strano il mio destino (Live & studio 95/96). Authors of the song are Giorgia and Maurizio Fabrizio. This original harmonization for mixed SATB choir and piano, enhances even more the melodic and harmonic characteristics of the piece, making it even more unique and magical. The song is about a woman who reflects on a past story. A story that she herself wanted or had to close, but certainly not without regrets; What a woman I will be, if you are not with me and if I will love you more and more.... And she thinks: Strange is my fate, that brings me here…; a fate that compels her, for some reason, to reflect on her past, bringing her back to the moment in which she decided to leave away in silence. A destiny that, even today, surprises her to rethink about that love but without indicating a new way to go, because, even if all that love, I have swept it away ..., it hurts not to think about you. In the refrain, a hope emerges (underlined by the opening of the melody): I will not lose you, beyond time and distance I will go ...; hope that is confirmed in the last stanza: It is clear my destiny ... I will reach you, when the girl also understands that not everything depends on her: I will try to shout and maybe you will hear, my voice calling you, if you want . And hope, become certainty, returns with the repetition, emphasized by the melodic impetus, of the concluding sentence ... not to leave you, anymore.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.972650 Composed by James Siddons. Contemporary,Opera,Ragtime. Octavo. 79 pages. James Siddons Music and Writings #4898807. Published by James Siddons Music and Writings (A0.972650). Two Views of Scott Joplin is an exploration of a personal and artistic crisis that Scott Joplin, the King of Ragtime, went through between 1904 and 1906. This crisis was precipitated by the untimely death of Freddie Alexander in September 1904, to whom Joplin had been married only ten weeks. Knowledge of this marriage was lost to history for almost a century until the Joplin scholar Edward A. Berlin discovered the newspaper obituary, which is quoted in the bass solo in Part II, The Obituary of Freddie Alexander.           Apparently, Scott Joplin, already inspired by the progressive ideals of Booker T. Washington, saw a path to social and artistic betterment through his love of Freddie, a daughter of a refined family. During this period, Joplin used the title rag less often in his piano-solo works, and nurtured an interest in opera (he had long been active in vaudeville as well as ragtime piano). He seems to have lost his sense of direction in 1905 and 1906, until led by his publisher John Stark to move to New York City in 1907. Once there, apparently growing out of his grief, Joplin studied with an Italian opera singer and composer, composed his folk opera Treemonisha, and composed Wall Street Rag and his other late masterpieces for piano. Joplin died in April 1917 following two years of debilitating illness.           Joplin left almost no personal writings, such as letters or diaries. To create an impression of autobiography, Two Views of Scott Joplin consists mostly of words and music written by Scott Joplin, and piano music composed by two close associates, the composer-pianists Louis Chauvin and Scott Hayden. These words come from Treemonisha, from Joplin’s little-remembered vaudeville and parlor songs, and also from text in his sheet-music---copyright notices, publishers’ addresses, titles and subtitles of rags, performance directions. In most cases, selected lyrics are extracted from songs and paired with piano-solo themes. These ingredients are combined in creative ways to express the biographical narrative. Instrumental themes are re-cast as necessary to express their newly-attached lyrics. But in no place can any of the music in Two Views of Scott Joplin be considered an arrangement of a given, intact composition, nor a medley of tunes, nor a theatrical revue. The character development and dialogue found in Scott Joplin’s Struggle with Destiny (Part II, No. 3) is my own biographical interpretation of Joplin, based on known evidence and on his music. The score contains extensive Performance Notes for performing this 16-minute work as a choral work or as a short opera scene.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1027800 Composed by Justin Casinghino. Contemporary. Octavo. 11 pages. World Projects Corporation #2989153. Published by World Projects Corporation (A0.1027800). The text for Not but a Seed…, which was written by the composer, follows the growth of tree from a single seed, through its existence as a full-grown member of the forest around it. In the mind of the author/composer, this growth exists as a metaphor for two of the most important elements of life, family and the process of artistic creation. In each, the tiniest of particles is created from elements that it is initially unaware of. Over time, these tiny elements grow to become able to foster creation of their own, ultimately connecting into a single unending web. Musically, this concept is dealt with during the course of the piece, where the opening chord is used as a catalyst for melodic and harmonic expansion throughout. This sonority is also used at important goal points throughout the setting of the three–stanza text. The piece is set for SATB choir, with each section occasionally splitting by half. The work includes rich harmonies throughout, as well as melodic moments for each voice part to shine through. The clear linear progress of each voice, combined with the recurring sonorities mentioned above make this piece a rewarding and accessible musical undertaking. A rehearsal piano reduction is included in the vocal score.

Kevin G. Pace #703624. Published by Kevin G. Pace (A0.1099749). A beautiful Christmas hymn with music by Kevin G. Pace and text by Mary Ann W. Snowball. Text: When I think of Bethlehem and its silent slopes, Lighted by a glowing star bringing man new hope, I remember Mary's Child from so long agoHow He grew to save the world: Love for all to know. Still He lights the weary world; Jesus is His Name. Still He brings eternal hope; still He is the same. When I think of Bethlehem and its silent slopes, Lighted by a glowing star bringing man new hope, I remember Mary's Child from so long agoHow He grew to save the world: Love for all to know. Still He lights a weary world; Jesus is His Name. Still He gives the greatest gift. Still He is the same. Stillness covered Bethlehem; Stillness calls today. Bringing quiet reverence, He's the only way. Open hearts receive his words. Listen, if you will. Holy voices clearly call to the world: Be still! Holy voices call Be still! Still I ponder Bethlehem at that sacred place. Mary's Child so willingly brought the world His grace. Just a tiny Baby's love, born for all man kind. Changed the world that star lit night past the reach of time.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1008086 Composed by Connie Pwll Walck Tyler. Christmas,Hanukkah,Sacred,Spiritual. Octavo. 7 pages. Connie Tyler #4629455. Published by Connie Tyler (A0.1008086). This choral work for SATB, harp (or piano) and drum sings of five different winter holidays: the Winter Solstice, Hannukah, Christmas,  Isra and Mi'raj, (a Muslim holiday that is held according to the Islamic calendar and therefore falls in the winter only on some years)  and Kwansaa. I'm sure there are many more holidays and verses could be added for them. It is meant to celebrate both our common ground and our diversity. The recording is generated by computer and the voices are choral oohs, without words. The words are:A candle's glow is hard to see in the light. , , It is made for the dark, warm womb of a winter night. Chorus: Dark winter, nurturing womb of the year, hold at your center the spark of the future here. Solstice night the yule log burning bright. Seeds deep in the earth turn, turn to the light. Chorus   Small cruse of oil gave eight long days of light, restoring the temple faithful their former rites. Chorus Tiny Babe born from His mother's dark womb, Under a star shining over the stable room. Chorus Gabriel carried the Prophet through the dark night, to Mecca, Jerusalem, on ‘til Heav'n's gates were in sight. Chorus Kawansa, time of preparation and growth, The new with the old combining the strength of both. Chorus
