Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1229657 By Sylvia Miles. By Traditional Welsh. Arranged by Sylvia Miles. Celtic,Folk,Irish,Wedding. Octavo. 3 pages. Sylvia Miles #825418. Published by Sylvia Miles (A0.1229657). Ar Lan y Môr is a popular tradtional Welsh folk song, and as with many folk songs, there are various versions. My personal preference is for this version; it paints a seashore picture that I can imagine, and I'm completely convinced by the romantic element!Musically speaking, I love the alternating 3 and 4 beat bars; they make me think of waves coming irregularly to the shore.Pronunciation notes: slight roll on all 'r' sounds; rye - 'ye' as in bye-bye; 'ch' as in loch, back of throat; 'll' is said H L - run them together 'hl'. Everything else is written phonetically.Translation: 1. Beside the sea grow red roses, and white lilies, and there lives my true love, sleeping all night and rising in the morning. 2. Down where the sea laps at the flat rock, we walked together, and spoke words of love; lilies grow there, and branches of rosemary.3. By the sea are blue pebbles, golden flowers, everything that's beautiful - and also my dearest sweetheart.

Stewart #6640731. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.955881). All Through the Night (Ar Hyd Y Nos): to some it’s a lullaby, to others it’s a hymn and yet to others still, it’s a Christmas carol. Originally a Welsh harp tune (pre 1700), this melody has evolved through many forms. Welsh Poet John Ceiriog Hughes contributed verses to the tune, as did the English poet Sir Harold Edwin Boulton.  This arrangement is scored for 4-part SATB ensemble and keyboard (piano or organ) accompaniment.  Performance time: 5:22+-

Published by Sara Garrard (A0.1100317). A new Christmas carol, in a traditional style, including a soprano descant for the last verse. The words are an early 20th century English translation of a much older Polish lyric W Żłobie Leży, and the melody lightly echoes a more famous version of a translation Infant Holy, Infant Lowly. Tell, O shepherds, tell the story Of the wonders ye have seen; Of the King of grace and glory Cradled in a manger mean; Of th'incarnate Word most holy, Lying In the stall so lowly. Cum Maria Virgine. How ye heard the angels singing Canticles of holy mirth; Ev'ry hill and vale a-ringing With the chorus 'Peace on earth Peace and love end full salvation Now is come to all creation. Christus natus hodie. He whom Seer and Prophet hoary, Long fortold in time afore, Lo, is here in fullest glory, To abide for evermore. Holy Babe we bow before Thee. And on bended knee adore Thee. Reddens laudes Domino.
