Each verse is progressively based upon an overall narrative:   1. hopes of the parent for the child   2. an easy, natural rhythm to family life, possibly the child is older now, and there is a dream of family continuance   3. uncertainty over who is nurturing who: does the child now sing to comfort the parent?     4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infant III.  The Drummer- An energetic reel,  a combination of Maidin Fhómhair, nó Cailín Péacach (The Harvest Maiden, or Sprouting Maiden) and Cormac Spáinneach, nó An Drumadóir (Cormac Spaineach, or The Drummer), alternating between romantic partners encased by a nostalgic love song, suggesting the passing of a lifetime.Commissioned by Cora Voce; Tacoma, WAMovements available for purchase separately.2017 Choral Contest EntryLaurie Betts Hughes, ASCAP | www.LaurieBettsHughes.com

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1284522 By EAM. By Eduardo Andrés Malachevsky. 21st Century,Christian,Contemporary,Praise & Worship,Spiritual. 22 pages. Eduardo A. Malachevsky #875694. Published by Eduardo A. Malachevsky (A0.1284522). LOVE BADE ME WELCOME Voicing: SATB (Divisis) & Soloists  |  Durata Circa: 5 min 30  |  Language: English  |  Lyrics: Geroge Herbert  |  Score's pages: 16  |  Score's meassures: 71 Score Preview & info  |  YouTube's Composer Channel Choral setting of the exquisite poem by Welsh born XVII century English poet George Herbert. The verses of this Anglican priest who was a contemporary of John Donne describe beautifully a dialog between 'Love’ (the Divine) and the human being.  The score attempts to illustrate the dramatic progression of this spiritual dialogue in which the eternal ´Love´ gives himself up to welcome the human being with merciful insistence as a privileged guest at a mystical meal. To make this dialogue clear while the choir takes the voice of the human nature -full of shame and guilt- while the Trebles assume the voice of the Divine Love -full of mercy and compassion-.  Neither the choosing of trebles nor the number 3 is casual: Childhood evokes naturally ideas of love and purity which are attributes of God himself, thus trebles seemed to me an appropriate choice to represent the voice of “Love†and the fact that there are three, is an intended reference to the Christian doctrine of the Trinity.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.782806 Composed by Nicholas Palmer. Contemporary,Easter,Sacred. Octavo. 8 pages. Nicholas D Palmer #3478497. Published by Nicholas D Palmer (A0.782806). I know that my redeemer lives sets the text of Job 19:23-25.  The motet is scored here for an SATB choir with solos, and optional divisi in tenor or bass.  This comforting and beautiful setting is appropriate for Easter, for funerals, memorials, and and service or concert that focuses on eternal life, resurrection, hope, and trust in God amid persecution.  The original setting, for SATTBB, is available as well, for more adventurous choirs, and was written with a men and trebles choir in mind.

Creative Last Verses are a way of encouraging good congregational singing. The descants add ' the icing on the cake' if you have trebles in the choir. My settings have been recognised for their quality for many years. The late Dr Gerre Hancock, organist at St Thomas Church, New York, said in 1996 that the last verses in my first collection were 'excellent arrangements' and that 'I should keep up the good work'. More recently, Anne Marsden Thomas, noted organist and organ teacher in the UK said that they contained 'inventive harmonies' and are a 'godsend for church organists'.
