Mbinji  Zilizopendwa (literally, those which were loved') is a term used in Kenya to refer to early Kenyan popular music, synonymous with the term golden oldies as used in the United States. Kiswahili is the national language of Kenyan.All vowel sounds are pure as in Latin. Bwana Nipe Pesa is a Zilizopendwa song that should be performed with enthusiasm, Dance movement, However expressive accents should be given at appropriate points in the musical and textual phrases.     Literal Transalation Bwana nipe pesa –Father give me money Watoto wana njaa – The children are hungry Lakini mke wako- But your wife anapenda kutangatanga – Is a loose lady, who moves with everyone Majirani wanachoka kumuona –Neighbours are tired of seeing her Fungueni milango anakuja – Close all the doors she is coming. Percussion must never dominate the texture, but rather remain supportive -The piece my be performed a cappella However the effect of the piece will be greatly enhanced by using a variety of improvised percussion instruments like (conga,shakers,claves and rattles) The accompanying ensemble should take care to allow the the choir to be heard. About the Arranger     Evans Obanda Mbinji is a composer,clinician,adjudicator, conductor,music educator and the founding Artistic Director of Jobel Chorale ,Zetech University. 2017 Choral Contest Entry.

Larry Schacher is a multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, arranger and composer. Larry is fluent on piano, sax, clarinet, flute, guitar and bass. While in college, Larry also learned the violin, viola, trumpet, trombone, and bassoon.
Larry taught public school music, and gifted classes in music for high schoolers at Eastern Oregon University, and Montana State; Larry also taught adult classical and folk guitar classes at Mt. Hood Community College.
Larry also developed a rock and roll boot camp for middle schoolers that ran for several years during spring breaks at the Overlake School in Redmond, Wa. Larry was commissioned to to write the Overlake School anthem.
Larry’s students have earned scholarships to the Berkeley School of music; attended the Thornton School of music; New York University and many others.
Larry is a recording studio musician and besides the 5 albums he has published on CDbaby, he has appeared on many other albums, produced jingles for commercials that received air play in the Seattle market, and was the pianist for a syndicated gospel TV show.
Larry has performed from Hawaii to New York city.
One of Larry’s fondest memories is writing and conducting an arrangement of our national anthem that was sung by Seattle Opera at a Sonics/Sun basketball game.

Lost Songs of Ancient Ireland, for Mixed Choir with Treble Descant, Piano or Harp, Bodhran, Irish Flute, and Violin, is a three-movement song cycle that focuses on the shifting relationships over the scope of a lifetime from the differing perspective of each person involved.

I.  Old Beggarman- Two interwoven jigs, It Was an Old Beggarman, Weary and Wet and Ag an mBóithrín Buí (At the Yellow Little Road), of both a young lady's observation of a wandering beggarman and his unrequited, possibly unexpressed, love for her.  They are offered together as alternate perspectives from potential romantic partners, and  features lilting, mouth music, or portaireacht bhéil (port a'bhéil, mouth-singing) as it is known in Irish Gaelic.

II.  I Would Rock My Child to Sleep- A sentimental Irish lullaby Irish lullaby Do Chuirfinnse Féin Mo Leanbh a Chodladh (I Would Put My Own Child to Sleep) highlights the shifting roles of a caregiver: the parent full of hopes of the parent for the child morphing over a lifetime into a blessing from the grown child to the aged parent. Each verse is progressively based upon an overall narrative:
   1. hopes of the parent for the child
   2. an easy, natural rhythm to family life, possibly the child is older now, and there is a dream of family continuance
   3. uncertainty over who is nurturing who: does the child now sing to comfort the parent?  
   4. a closing blessing for peace and rest that hearkens back to the successful sleep of a tired infant

III.  The Drummer- An energetic reel,  a combination of Maidin Fhómhair, nó Cailín Péacach (The Harvest Maiden, or Sprouting Maiden) and Cormac Spáinneach, nó An Drumadóir (Cormac Spaineach, or The Drummer), alternating between romantic partners encased by a nostalgic love song, suggesting the passing of a lifetime.

Come My Way is set to a text of George Herbert (1593-1633), and calls for SATB choir. However, the division of parts is predominantly unison and two-part, with brief four-part in the final descant section. This makes the anthem more accessible for choirs with low numbers. The difficulty level is easy to moderate. Come My Way was written for a Good Friday service at Central Lutheran Church in Yakima, Wa.
