Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.866288 Composed by Geoffrey Cottrell. Children,Christian,Christmas,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 18 pages. Geoffrey Cottrell #5881. Published by Geoffrey Cottrell (A0.866288). This traditional carol is normally known set to the tune of 'Greensleeves'. But here is a new, catchy and effective setting, intended for performance by a medium to large amateur SATB chorus with organ. There is an optional innocent-sounding part for a children's chorus, but if this is not available, the part an be sung by a group of sopranos (A). Starting quietly over a repeating ground-like organ figure, the question of the title is asked by a solitary line of high voices and then answered in harmony by the chorus. The texture gradually enriches and the intensity builds. The final verse features a descant part, ending the carol with a rousing climax! This carol works very effectively in a Christmas carol concert or church service.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.955882 Composed by Traditional 16th century English folk song. Arranged by Scott S. Stewart. Christmas,Contemporary. 14 pages. Scott S. Stewart #6658983. Published by Scott S. Stewart (A0.955882). What Child Is This? is a ‘Christmas carol’ with lyrics written by William Chatterton Dix in 1865, set to the tune of the traditional English folk song ‘Greensleeves’.  The lyrics are taken from his poem The Manger Throne.  The song What Child Is This? was first published in 1871 in Christmas Carols Old and New.  The tune ‘Greensleeves’ association with the festive season can be dated back to 1642; also Shakespeare refers to this popular tune twice in his famous play Merry Wives of Windsor.  This arrangement is scored for a 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment.  Performance time: 3:12. It is arranged with the awe and wonder (and perhaps confusion) the townspeople and shepherds experienced with the birth of ‘this child.’

Choral Choir (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1032581 Composed by Dominic M Wright. Christian,Christmas. Octavo. 10 pages. Dominic M Wright #5009059. Published by Dominic M Wright (A0.1032581). An original setting of the lyrics to the well-known carol 'What Child is This?’ For SABT choir and piano accompaniment. Suitable for any Christmas service or concert. Composers Note This piece was originally composed during my recovery from CFS/ME. I was drawn to these particular words because, like me, William Dix suffered a serious illness which strengthened his faith and inspired him to write not just these lyrics, but many other well-known and beloved hymns and carols. The piece was premiered during the annual 'Carols by Candlelight' service at our local church of St Andrews, Kirk Ella in December 2017. The choir worked extremely hard to prepare for the performance and the piece was very well received by both choir and audience. I am sure that your choir and audience will enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed working on it. Duration approximately 4 minutes. Words: William Chatterton Dix - Public DomainMusic: Original composition by Dominic M Wright - Copyright 2017 Dominic M Wright is an award winning composer based in East Yorkshire, England. He is an experienced singer having sung with the National Youth Choirs of Great Britain, Manchester Cathedral Voluntary Choir and the Hull Choral Union in venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, the Sage Gates-head, Durham Cathedral, Manchester Cathedral, Hull Minster and many more. His compositions have been performed across the region, always to audience acclaim.
