All Through the Night (Ar Hyd Y Nos): to some it’s a lullaby, to others it’s a hymn and yet to others still, it’s a Christmas carol. Originally a Welsh harp tune (pre 1700), this melody has evolved through many forms. Welsh Poet John Ceiriog Hughes contributed verses to the tune, as did the English poet Sir Harold Edwin Boulton.  This arrangement is scored for 4-part SATB ensemble and keyboard (piano or organ) accompaniment.  Performance time: 5:22+-

Ar Lan y Môr is a popular tradtional Welsh folk song, and as with many folk songs, there are various versions. My personal preference is for this version; it paints a seashore picture that I can imagine, and I'm completely convinced by the romantic element!
Musically speaking, I love the alternating 3 and 4 beat bars; they make me think of waves coming irregularly to the shore.
Pronunciation notes: slight roll on all 'r' sounds; rye - 'ye' as in bye-bye; 'ch' as in loch, back of throat; 'll' is said H L - run them together 'hl'. Everything else is written phonetically.
Translation: 1. Beside the sea grow red roses, and white lilies, and there lives my true love, sleeping all night and rising in the morning.
2. Down where the sea laps at the flat rock, we walked together, and spoke words of love; lilies grow there, and branches of rosemary.
3. By the sea are blue pebbles, golden flowers, everything that's beautiful - and also my dearest sweetheart.

El roble y el ombú (The Oak and Embú Evergreen) is a traditional zortziko (5/8 dance rhythm of the Basque country) vidalita (a sad, romantic, popular song usually accompanied by the guitar), sung by choirs on both sides of the Atlantic, in which freedom is sung and the nostalgia for Basque emigration in those lands are recounted. The lyrics were penned by Bilboa-born journalist Felix Bilboa Garci-Arcélus (himself an emigrant to Argentina).  This arrangement is for 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment.  Performance time: 2:32. The lyrics are in Spanish.
