The title refers to a bird that got into the cornmeal. “Tico-Tico”’s catchy, syncopated rhythm is irresistible; the critical challenge is to capture that elusive rhythm – with that perfect tempo. This arrangement uses the 1942 English text of Ervin Drake popularized by the Andrew Sisters. it is arranged for 4-part SATB ensemble with piano accompaniment. It starts with a slow seductive Samba tempo and accelerates to a Prestissimo finish. Performance time: 2:45.
