Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.877193 By The Four Tops. By Brian Holland, Edward Holland Jr., and Lamont Dozier. Arranged by Iain Hallam. Contemporary. Octavo. 8 pages. Iain Hallam #4798551. Published by Iain Hallam (A0.877193). This exuberant toe-tapper is an audience favourite, and this arrangement was originally made for a wedding booking. The melody keeps moving among the parts, though mostly in the alto and bass, and the rhythms need to be tight to get the feel of the original. Although the sections build on very similar chords throughout, there's always something new in each verse to keep a group on their toes and delight the listener.Ranges:Soprano = C4 to F#5 (average A4)Alto = G3 to B4 (average E4)Tenor = F3 to G4 (average B3)Bass = G2 to D4 (average D3).

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.912545 Composed by Edgar F Girtain IV. 20th Century,Contemporary,Holiday. 20 pages. Edgar F. Girtain IV #3114117. Published by Edgar F. Girtain IV (A0.912545). Program NotesAs part of an ongoing artistic collaboration between the conductor Hingrid Kujawinski and composer Edgar Girtain, Every Day isThanksgiving is a choral adaptation of a quotation by Gladys Widdis, elder of theWampanoag Native American tribe. As the Wampanoag are reputed to have been the tribe present at the first thanksgiving feast, Widdis's thoughts on the holiday are particularly apt. Her words of wisdom are worthy of meditation by all people:Every day [is] a day of thanksgiving to the Wampanoag...[We] give thanks for the dawn of thenew day, at the end of the day, to the sun, to the moon, for rain for helping crops grow...There [is]always something to be thanksful for...Giving thanks comes naturally for the Wampanoag... About the ComposerEdgar F Girtain IV is an American composer who work has been hailed as immediatley captivating by the NewYork Times. A commanding poly-stylist, his orchestral, chamber, and vocal work has garnered acclaim for its poetic temperment and dramatic scope, with recent performances at the Imperial College in London, the Conservatories of Helsinki and Seville, Northwestern University, and Carnegie Hall. A native of the New Jersey Pine Barrens, he currently lives and teaches in Puerto Montt, Chile. Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1167223 Composed by Sally Whitwell. Classical,Contemporary. Octavo. 13 pages. Sally Whitwell #767600. Published by Sally Whitwell (A0.1167223). As a composer, I feel I always need to be working on somethinng. Even if it's not for a commission, I like to work on my skills, on my composing craft, on keepng the creative ideas flowing. So occasionally, I set myself assignments of a sort, which is how this song cycle Spectrum came to be. I set myself the task of interpreting the colours of the rainbow pride flag. Because I am so gay. The cycle is not actually LGBTQIA+ themed in its subject matter as such, the flag was just a kind of framework for my creativity. In thje intervening years since the cycle was first conceived, the LGBTQIA+ community has embraced a new flag, the Progress Pride FLag, which will give me a few more colours to interpret and add to the original cycle.Thie song Yellow Rain is a setting of a joyous poem by Monique Duval about getting caught in a sun shower on the beach.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Digital Download SKU: A0.1295477 Composed by Isaac Cohen. 21st Century,A Cappella,Classical,Contemporary,Jewish. 15 pages. Isaac Cohen Music #885765. Published by Isaac Cohen Music (A0.1295477). I wrote Oseh Shalom, wanting to connect my Jewish heritage to my own contemporary classical style of writing. While not very religious, I've always loved Jewish music. To that end, I sought out to write something that wasn't an arrangement of an already existing tune but wasn't also a more obscure prayer that only the more religious people would know, both of which I've done before. In addition, I wanted to write something oriented more toward a concert rather than a religious setting.Oseh Shalom comes from the last part of the Mourner's Kaddish, a longer prayer recited in memory of the dead. It is not only said in sadness, however. Many settings of the prayer, including Debbie Friedman's and Nurit Hirsh's, which are the settings I grew up singing, are very festive. As such, when Oseh Shalom, I tried to encapsulate mournful and festive feelings and give it a more classical touch.Questions? Feel free to reach out to me at isaacwilliamcohen23@gmail.com.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.796807 By Des'ree. By Ashley Ingram and Des'ree. Arranged by Eric Hagmann. A Cappella,Contemporary. Octavo. 9 pages. Eric Hagmann #3689701. Published by Eric Hagmann (A0.796807). An SATB + solo contemporary a cappella arrangement of You Gotta Be by Des'Ree.  If you're a fan of the 90's, then you certainly remember this song.  Released as a single in 1994 and 1995, this tune was a top-40 success around the world and even reached #2 on the US Adult Contemporary charts.  This arrangement grooves along with engaging three-part supporting harmonies that blossom into four or five-part harmony when the tune naturally calls for some color.  Each chorus always adds something new to the mix to keep your listeners engaged and excited to hear what will happen next.  Straying from the original harmony, the post-bridge chorus plays with the flavor of the song and creates something unique that will certainly stand out from your traditional a cappella arrangement.A challenging tune that will reward your advancing high school or college a cappella ensemble.

SATB chorus a cappella - Digital Download SKU: BJ.1444 Composed by Henrik Dahlgren. Christian. Octavo. 8 pages. Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital #1444. Published by Bo Ejeby Forlag - Digital (BJ.1444). 8.27 x 11.7 inches. The single word alleluia is used as the basis for harmonic exploration as the slowly moving pulsed a cappella harmonies build and diminish. Feature a soprano soloist or the section on an ethereal descant that elevates the texture to sublime heights. This piece came about for two different reasons. The initial musical idea evolved while I was working on a short study for piano, so the piece was strictly instrumental. The other idea stemmed from a discussion with my friend and mentor Dr Phillip Cooke, about why the word “Alleluia is so commonly used in choral music. Apart from the obvious reasons – “Alleluia being a significant word in the sacred music tradition, and so on – we discussed the multiple possibilities a composer has with a word like that, in the sense that different syllables can be stressed, such as alleluia, alleluia or alleluia. This was something I used as the other structural building block in the composition, and I added “Alleluia as the only word, but with the emphasis moving to different syllables throughout the piece. For me, the setting of a single word like “Alleluia is far from any texts I usually set. The word, however, has a strong anchorage in musical tradition and composers have always set this word in all kinds of different ways.In this composition, I am interested in the word itself, the build-up of the word, the structure of the music, and adding something to the musical tradition of setting this famous word to music. This piece was premiered by the University of Aberdeen Chapel Choir at King’s College Chapel in Aberdeen, Scotland. The performance was conducted by their Director of Chapel and Ceremonial Music, Stuart Muir. – Henrik Dahlgren.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.535388 Composed by Carson Cooman. Baroque,Contemporary,Sacred. Octavo. 82 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #3043975. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.535388). I. SinfoniaII. To Mary on the vigil of her AssumptionIII. A Votive SongIV. The Heliotrope-the mind of man turned to GodAscensions (2009) for SATB chorus, traverso, baroque violin, viola da gamba, and organ was commissioned by and isdedicated to the Cornell University Chamber Singers, Holland J. Jancaitis, director. The work is a cantata consisting of an instrumental sinfonia followed by choral settings of three poems by neo-Latin poetJakob Balde, S.J. (1604–68), hailed as the Horace of Germany and considered one of the greatest Latin poets of any era.In the case of the three poems selected, Balde’s vivid imagery and mastery of Latin poetics are put in service of religiousexpression. The poems are filled with countless allusions to the classical poetic tradition; notably, he creates a strongcorrelation between the Virgin Mary of his Christian tradition (Balde was a Jesuit priest) and the goddesses invoked inclassical Latin poetry. Thus, Balde uses the older forms to express something that was, for him, contemporary andrelevant. (An analogue to this use of language is the idea of creating new music to be played on period instruments.)The opening sinfonia begins with an ascending pattern of triads, which returns throughout the work. The forwardmomentum is interrupted several times before the movement settles tonally. The first choral movement employs abouncy momentum to set the celebratory poem on the Virgin’s assumption. The second movement is a prayerful song onthe acceptance of death; it is spare and meditative, unfolding as a series of sectional canons over several drones. The finalmovement returns to the celebratory spirit of the opening; this time, instead of the Virgin’s journey, the poem describesthe speaker’s journey and compares a purposeful sea voyage to a directed life.Balde’s poems are provided in their original Latin and in two translations. One is a free translation in rhyming poeticEnglish created by James J. Mertz, S.J., longtime professor at Loyola University. The other is a newly-created literaltranslation by Edward J. Vodoklys, S.J., Senior Lecturer in Classics at the College of the Holy Cross.Carson P. Cooman, January 2009, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USAPERFORMANCE NOTES: The composer prefers a classically-informed Italianate pronunciation of the Latin(church Latin is acceptable). (It is important that V always be pronounced as V, not as the W soundoften used by classical Latinists.)The work is conceived for a chamber choir, as a larger choir would not balance the timbres of the baroqueinstruments. It is suggested that 16–24 singers be employed (no fewer than 12).As with much early repertoire, dynamic and expressive markings are kept to a minimum. It is expected thatdirector and performers will inflect lines expressively and naturally. The organ part is notated for a small portatiforgan with pull-down pedal (with no independent pedal stops). If played on a larger instrument, this smallerregistration plan should be kept in mind so as to create balance with the instruments and choir.

Hales. I often wonder if I’d been there On the shores of Galilee, Would I have stopped and listened toA stranger I happened to see,A man called Jesus, from Nazareth,Whose words right from the startMight come to my ears as something sweet’Would I have had a believing heart?Chorus:A believing heart, a special giftOf faith that I might seeEternal truths from God above,That I might say and do and beA willing servant committed toThe Master’s work below;A believing heart, a willing mind,To Him I’d like to show.I often wonder if I’d been thereIn another time and place,Would I have listened to Alma’s words:Or with a multitude seen the faceAnd touched the feet of Jesus Christ,Of His people been a part? From pages of Book of MormonI learn of those with believing hearts.I often wonder if I’d been thereIn Ohio or Missouri,Would I have listened to Joseph Smith,Or a jeering scorner beBecause of tradition or fear of men,Would I have quickly turned apart?Or would I have stayed and heard his words?Would I have had a believing heart? And now I live in the latter daysGod’s message I have always knownThroughout my days of mortal life,Gospel truths from parents at home,Or from missionaries bold and strong,Yet I must still choose to testify.

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.500704 By Vampire Weekend. By Ezra Koenig and Rostam Batmanglij. Arranged by G. M. Morley. A Cappella,Contemporary. Octavo. 10 pages. G. M. Morley #5044269. Published by G. M. Morley (A0.500704). This fun little love song comes from Vampire Weekend's fourth album, Father of the Bride, released in early 2019. The original is a duet featuring the female vocals of Danielle Haim.Writer, Ezra Koenig has said of the song I always wanted to do a song that was insanely simple, that was just listing things that go together... It's probably the most wholesome Vampire Weekend song.Although the simplicity of the original song remains, there are some challenging arpeggio's and runs for soprano and alto parts in the latter half of the piece. This version is suitable for weddings and pop or community choir performances. If you would like to contact me about this arrangement or would like to request something specific, please message me via my page: https://www.facebook.com/GMMorleyMusic/ If you perform this piece, I'd love to hear from you.

Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1308086 By Jay Jordan. By Jay Jordan. Arranged by Jay Jordan. Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Praise & Worship,Traditional. 13 pages. Pro Creations Music #897359. Published by Pro Creations Music (A0.1308086). In early summer 2014 I attended the funeral of Marc Baires, a former student.  Always a sad affair, his passing was unusual for me in that it marked the first time I had “witnessed” the illness and eventual passing of a former student via social media.  Though heavily involved in music in high school Mark had chosen science as his career path and was a successful scientist at a prominent, local biotech firm.  Mark approached his cancer diagnosis with a matter-of-fact, analytical attitude and posted frequent updates about his condition, culminating with a posthumous message from his loved ones.   The prayer card handed out at Marc’s funeral featured the Afterglow poem by Helen Lowry Marshall (1904 - 1975).  It moved me greatly, as the message of love and comfort for those left behind was totally consistent with Marc’s generous spirit, something that was confirmed in the eulogies of his colleagues.  I decided that I would attempt to set the poem in a treatment that, hopefully, conveyed the intent of Afterglow, and that honored a man who had brought smiles to many with his somewhat goofy personality and his many unselfish deeds.Musical noteConductors should try to honor the metronomic markings to create the feeling steady forward motion.  The leaps in the main theme should be sung as delicately as possible.

Published by Marilena Zlatanou (A0.1343535). BYZANTINE HYMN: TI IPERMAHO (To the defender army leader) arranged for SATB choir and pianoDuring a siege of Constantinople in the 6th cent., and while the regular army was engaged in fighting elsewhere, the city was attacked by Avars. The women, children and seniors left there fought as best they could, but finally realized that they had to give up. As a last resort, they carried the icon of Panayia (St. Mary, always referred to as all-holy in Greek), alongside the city walls, something that produced an unexpected effect: The besiegers left! For three days the citizens participated in liturgies addressed to Her, in a hymn called AKATHISTOS YMNOS (=Non-sitting Hymn), where this tropation is central, as it is most actively still used in the Greek Orthodox Church at many other relevant services. The first part is the original, in unison, or sung by a soloist. The piano part and the following choir arrangement are my contribution.duration: 3'33'' Phonetic transcription in the Latin alphabet is notated right below the original Greek text, English translation, and a key to Greek Pronunciation are provided on the title page. The mp3 file provided is exported from the sibelius file. For more information on the arranger, (member of TONO, the Norwegian copyright org.), please visit website www.zlatanou.netAs a Greek living in Norway for most of my adult life, and in my many years’ work as a conductor of a Norwegian choir specializing in Greek music (!), I have experienced the need to enrich the choir’s repertoire with both folk song- as well as other -arrangements of Greek music: This gave me the opportunity to share with our audiences some of the centuries-long musical heritage, as well as helping me make known to them some of the History behind the music of a country of such international historical influence in the past, and such a tourist magnet in our times.

Christian,Contest,Festival,Religious,Sacred,Traditional. 45 pages. Artist of Note, Inc. #998390. Published by Artist of Note, Inc. (A0.1416727). Praise the Lord Who Reigns AboveCharles Wesley-AMSTERDAM, Foundry Collection, 1742SATB Choir, Organ/Keyboard, Opt. Brass & PercussionLooking for something just a bit different/reduced from the concertato form, and even easier to learn to kick off the choir season?Based on Praise the Lord Who Reigns Above this arrangement, entitled Let All Things Praise the Lord is faithful to the original including a stanza omitted in most hymnals that speaks of the choir as a battle-worthy leadership unit in worship. The text, based on Psalm 150 by English pastor Charles Wesley, was originally published in his brother, John Wesley’s Founder Collection of 1742 in conjunction the tune AMSTERDAM (which carried annotations and adaptations from a German tune). Immediately following the choir, brass, percussion and organ/keyboard fanfare, opportunity is given to the congregation to participate in the liturgy. The middle section is original music that wings the emotion/meaning of the text to a more meditative stream and back again—via a reprise of the opening fanfare—to the rousing finale with a creative descant that appears not only in Soprano/Tenor, but also (for a change) in Alto and Bass. And, with a little attention from the conductor and choir the congregation can stay in it until the final release!Included are parts for: Choir, Organ/Keyboard, Bb Trumpets, F Horn, Trombones, Bass Trombone/Tuba and Percussion: Mallets/Tympani (2 players) as well as alternate parts for Baritone B.C., Baritone T.C., Eb Alto Saxophone, Bb Tenor Saxophone and Eb Baritone Saxophone.Available where you go for the best in downloadable resources, including:Sheet Music DirectSheet Music PlusComing soon! And via your local music dealer. Also
