Choral Choir (SATB divisi) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.841250 Composed by Chris Gordon. Contemporary. Octavo. 18 pages. Cool Wind Music Digital #3029087. Published by Cool Wind Music Digital (A0.841250). A setting of a very powerful poem by English poet, Ted Hughes, about the onset of autumn in an English (Yorkshire) garden and the surrounding countryside.  It is full of pathos and passion, harmony and dissonance, chaos and peace - just like English weather! This is a very individual and innovative choral setting of Hughes' poem which is, itself, rich in 'meaty' metaphor and colour - and the composer is a vegetarian! It evokes a savage Nature within a savage landscape where humans and animals compete for space and for food. It is October, the fields and woods and gardens of rural Yorkshire are readying themselves for the cold and desolation (and despair) of winter which isn't far away in time. 'A glass, half-filled with wine, left out(side) To the dark heaven all night, by dawn Has dreamed a premonition of ice across its eye as if the ice-age had begun its heave.'   That is only two and a half stanzas but you see from these lines that there are veiled threats of (Nature's) violence in the heavy tread of the poet's slowly-building angst over what is happening in the surrounding countryside - and his fear grows, and his awe grows, with every line. There is even fear underlining the very last line: 'And now it is about to start.' Winter is creeping closer and closer towards the house and it will not be pleasant to experience!I have tried to instil a little of this in the music which keeps skidding from consonance to dissonance and back to consonance. Sometimes the dissonance piles up, like snow driven by the wind piles up into deep banks; sometimes the music relaxes into stillness and calm (painted in tonal music) like a crisp, mild late autumn or early winter's day when the sun warms the landscape and life appears bearable, tolerable. I hope this adds to the song's 'charm'. It wasn't easy to write: sometimes the right music was elusive. The music ends with the word 'October' repeated three times, with voices overlapping in a little canon. This conjures up the wistful feelings of the poet as he looks out onto a peaceful scene, soon to be filled with all manner of 'natural violence', while his inner peace will soon be shattered by the mayhem about to be unleashed around him.Setting Ted Hughes is no easy task. It is for choirs and choirmasters to judge if I have succeeded in conveying the 'sense and sensibility' of a classic 20th century English poem. The price is for one copy: please purchase a sufficient number of scores if you intend to perform this work. Choral Choir,Choral (SATB) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1298286 By Cascada. By Maggie Reilly, Peter Risavy, and Stuart Mackillop. Arranged by Lukas C Jaeger. 21st Century,A Cappella,Contemporary,Contest,Festival,Pop. 13 pages. Lukas C Jaeger #888255. Published by Lukas C Jaeger (A0.1298286). In honor of the iconic 90's club scene here and overseas, I created this arrangement of 'Everytime We Touch' by CASCADA. Incorporating thematic snippits from another memorable tune by alice deejay (Better Off Alone), this piece is sure to get any large mixed group dancing and grooving. While vocal percussion adds a lot to this particular arrangementy, it isn't necessary due to the driving patternic nature of the supporting voice parts... This is not an easy piece... But nailing the rhythm changes and emmersing yourself in the vibe of this piece will reward you with a showstopper sure to make a splash at any concert or competition. Challenging to learn, but EPIC once you get it. A great number to throw at any advanced acappella group looking for their next big thing!

Choral Choir (SATB) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.821201 Composed by Gordon Thornett. Christian,Christmas,Praise & Worship,Sacred. Octavo. 14 pages. Gordon John Thornett #3861793. Published by Gordon John Thornett (A0.821201). Prelude and Cherubic Hymn was commissioned by the John F. Kennedy School in Berlin, to mark the 25th anniversary of their annual Advent services held in Berlin Cathedral. It was performed by joint choirs, drawn from students, parents and faculty, and choir members of the American Church in Berlin on 29 November 2017.The piece is built around the ancient hymn, Let all mortal flesh keep silence. I was asked to write an organ prelude, to serve as a processional as the choirs assembled. This may be ordered separately through SwirlyMusic.org - and now also through SheetMusicPlus.After an opening fanfare-like section, the hymn setting starts gently, with sopranos singing in unison, with successive verses using contrasting choral forces to reflect the words, and the music builds to a big climax, with a return of the fanfare opening, for the final verse, At his feet the six-winged seraph, ending with joyful Alleluias. Although originally conceived for a large chorus with orchestral accompaniment, the setting may be performed with just organ or piano. There's a youtube video at https://youtu.be/HQwYDJRdmcc - this is an extract from the first performance in the magnificent setting of Berlin Cathedral, which was packed to capacity. The quality of both sound and picture isn't great, but it will provide you with an idea of the atmosphere and impact of the piece.  The sound recording covers the whole piece, using Sibelius sounds. (You may also like to hear a computer generated recording of the whole piece.)Dr. Joseph R. Curtis, Choral Director at the JFK School, writes:Prelude and Cherubic Hymn is a grand arrangement of the timeless carol 'Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence'. Utilizing choir, full orchestra and organ, it is sure to please and impress performers and audience alike. At a recent performance in the Berlin Cathedral, the piece received spontaneous applause (which was a first for this kind of event).NOTE - Although originally scored for orchestra, the piece would work well with just choir and organ - in which case the fanfare sections at the beginning and the first 6 measures at letter F could be omitted. If orchestral score and parts are needed, please go to https://www.swirlymusic.org/music/choral-music/gordon-thornett-cherubic-hymn/.]

Broadway,Children,Contest,Festival,Film/TV,Holiday,Musical/Show. Octavo. 7 pages. Red Tape Productions #862591. Published by Red Tape Productions (A0.1270162). SATB with piano accompaniment.  This is an intermediate arrangement great for high school and community choirs.  It starts off with simple 2-part harmonies, and as the song grows up, so do the harmonies until we get to lush 4-part arrangements at the end.  The center section features a unique choral tick-tock accompaniment over the piano's melody.  A beautiful version of the Disney favorite!
