Choral Choir (4-Part) - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792186 Composed by Edward Elgar. Arranged by Malmstrom, Randall. Romantic Period. Octavo. 8 pages. Gordon Cherry #4317851. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792186). Nimrod, the ninth variation from Elgar's masterpiece Op. 36, Enigma Variations is one of the most recognized works in the classical repertoire. There are so many adjectives to describe this piece of genius: stately, majestic, serious, solemn, moving, noble, languid, stoic, enduring and sublime. There are few works in the repertoire that bring forth such strong emotions as this work, which is often performed for funerals and for Memorial Day / Remembrance Day services. Randall Malmstrom's beautiful arrangement for 4-part Tuba Ensemble (2 Euphoniums and 2 Tubas) is appropriate for moderately advanced performers. About 4 minutes in length.

Choral Choir (4-Part) - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.792121 Composed by Johann Pachelbel. Arranged by Terrett, Keith. Baroque,Classical. Octavo. 19 pages. Gordon Cherry #3565739. Published by Gordon Cherry (A0.792121). Pachelbel's grand Chorale Partita with Seven Variations in G is based on the 17th Century Protestant German hymn tune Alle Menschen müssen sterben (All of Mankind is Mortal) by Jakob Hintze. The original form of the work was in C major with eight variations, composed for Organ.  Bach, being greatly influenced by Pachelbel, later took up the melody for use in one of his Cantatas. Keith Terrett has done a great job arranging these elaborate variations of about 6 minutes in length for a Tuba Ensemble quintet of advanced performers.

Choral Choir (Mixed) - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.576492 Composed by various traditional. Arranged by David Warin Solomons. 20th Century,Christian,Christmas. Octavo. 8 pages. David Warin Solomons #27253. Published by David Warin Solomons (A0.576492). It all began with the idea one morning that the other tune for Nahum Tate's carol While shepherds watched is, of course, the Yorkshire ditty On Ilkley moor bar t'hat. Well, as the afternoon progressed, other tunes got added, resulting in a curious potpourri for choir and piano. The choir gets to sing On Ilkla Moor, the Este psalter tune known to all, and also Auld Lang Syne. The second voice, in its madrigalian way, gets a sly English cadence!. Meanwhile, the piano gets some sly references to Sing a song of sixpence and Scotland the brave. I sang it in G on this mp3, to fit my multitrack range, but versions are available on sheetmusicplus in G (ATBB), C (SATB) (fairly high for the sopranos) and Bflat (SATB) (fairly low for the basses) It can also be seen as a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRXrzrSY-Vw === While shepherds watched their flocks by night, All seated on the ground, The angel of the Lord came down, And glory shone around. Fear not! said he, for mighty dread Had seized their troubled mind. Glad tidings of great joy I bring To you and all mankind. To you, in David's town, this day Is born of David's line A Saviour, who is Christ the Lord, And this shall be the sign: The heavenly babe you there shall find To human view displayed, All meanly wrapped in swathing bands, And in a manger laid. Thus spake the seraph and forthwith appeared a shining throng of angels praising God who thus addressed their joyful song All glory be to God on high, And to the Earth be peace; Good will henceforth from heaven to men, Begin and never cease!.
