Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Oboe,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.533214 Composed by Traditional Welsh Lullaby. Arranged by Jean-Thierry Boisseau. Concert,Folk,Standards,World. Score and parts. 13 pages. Musik Fabrik Music Publishing #2059803. Published by Musik Fabrik Music Publishing (A0.533214). This is an arrangement of the famous Welsh lullaby. This work for oboe and piano is not at all a set of variations on a theme, because the oboe always plays, without embellishment, the same sixteen-measure sequence four times. The four first measure of the this theme are played once as an intro- duction. The piano, however, is asked to create a different atmosphere each time the theme returns, replacing the meaning of the words. It is therefore the job of the oboist to find a different way of presenting the same theme, sequence by sequence, which is not entirely the easiest thing to do!

Published by jmsgu3 (A0.548743). Very strong arrangement for Easter. Duration: 2:48. 84 ms. Score: 7 pg. Solo part 1 pg. piano part 3 pg. Morning Has Broken is a popular and well-known Christian hymn first published in 1931. It has words by English author Eleanor Farjeon and was inspired by the village of Alfriston in East Sussex, then set to a traditional Scottish Gaelic tune known as Bunessan [1] (it shares this tune with the 19th century Christmas Carol Child in the Manger[2]). It is often sung in children's services and in Funeral services.[3] English pop musician and folk singer Cat Stevens included a version on his 1971 album Teaser and the Firecat. The song became identified with Stevens due to the popularity of this recording. It reached number six on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, number one on the U.S. easy listening chartin 1972,[4] and number four on the Canadian RPM Magazine charts. The hymn originally appeared in the second edition of Songs of Praise (published in 1931), to the tune Bunessan, composed in the Scottish Islands. In Songs of Praise Discussed, the editor, Percy Dearmer, explains that as there was need for a hymn to give thanks for each day, English poet and children's author Eleanor Farjeon had been asked to make a poem to fit the lovely Scottish tune. A slight variation on the original hymn, also written by Eleanor Farjeon, can be found in the form of a poem contributed to the anthology Children's Bells, under Farjeon's new title, A Morning Song (For the First Day of Spring), published by Oxford University Press in 1957. The song is noted in 9/4 time but with a 3/4 feel. Bunessan had been found in L. McBean's Songs and Hymns of the Gael, published in 1900.[5] Before Farjeon's words, the tune was used as a Christmas carol, which began Child in the manger, Infant of Mary, translated from the Scottish Gaelic lyrics written by Mary MacDonald. The English-language Roman Catholic hymnal also uses the tune for the James Quinn hymns, Christ Be Beside Me and This Day God Gives Me, both of which were adapted from the traditional Irish hymn St. Patrick's Breastplate. Another Christian hymn, Baptized In Water, borrows the tune. -Wikipedia

Small Ensemble Oboe,Piano - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.823184 Composed by Traditional Irish Carol. Arranged by Brian Buda. Christmas,Holiday,Sacred,Traditional. Score and part. 13 pages. Budaful music #6716993. Published by budaful music (A0.823184). The haunting, melodic beauty in this arrangement of Wexford Carol is full of lush harmonies and imitative countermelodies making it a great piece to perform in Christmas concerts and in church services. There are two performance options in this arrangement. One option is to, obviously, perform the piece as written all the way through. (approx. 3:50) The other (less recommended) option would be to omit one of the 3 verses which cuts over a minute of performance time. (approx. 2:40)Both Oboe & Soprano Sax. parts are included at the end of the PDF.The words of the final verse is only part of what makes this carol so powerful:With thankful heart and joyful mind,The shepherds went the babe to find,And as God’s angel has foretold,They did our Savior Christ behold.Within a manger He was laid,And by His side the virgin maidAttending to the Lord of Life,Who came on earth to end all strife.

Oboe,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.571911 Composed by Traditional Melody. Arranged by James Michael Stevens. 20th Century,Contemporary,Folk,Sacred. Score and part. 5 pages. James M Stevens Music ASCAP #1984529. Published by James M Stevens Music ASCAP (A0.571911). Written on March 16, 2016, this is an original arrangement of the classic early American folk song, Oh Shenandoah for Oboe and Piano. There is somewhat of a mystery of the song's origins and meaning and there are many versions of the lyrics. But the song conveys a deep longing for a distant land and love that is too deep to express in ordinary words and must be expressed through song. There is a separate oboe part in the score and the track is available at SMP under Oh Shenandoah PIANO TRACK. The oboe part is at an intermediate level while the piano part is a little more challenging. This piece could also be played as a piano solo. James Michael Stevens is a prolific composer residing in Nashville, TN.
