This work is New Haven Memories For Guitar Quartet by Neal Fitzpatrick. It was composed in 2021. This eight movement work was inspired but the composer's time as a student at the Yale School of Music in New Haven, CT and is dedicated to Benjamin Verdery-chair of the guitar Department at the Yale school of Music.

Guitarist Neal Fitzpatrick has a B.M. from the Hartt School where he studied with Alan Spriestersbach and his M.M. from The Yale School of Music where he studied with Benjamin Verdery. He also studied  extensively with Sharon Isbin and Sal Salvador. Based in Connecticut, he is active as a soloist and in the chamber music scene. This waltz, originally for solo guitar, shows the sentimental and romantic side of Barrios. The opening melody (Guitar 3 and later Guitar 4) should be played on the bass strings as much as possible, with lots of vibrato. The 'B' section pits Guitar 1 'in 2' against the rest of the group, still 'in 3', for an interesting rhythmic effect. Enjoy!
