Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797723 By Carrie Underwood. By Gloria Shayne and Noel Regney. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Christmas,Pop. Score and parts. 15 pages. Derek Hasted #3868249. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797723). DO YOU HEAR WHAT I HEAR? - 4 GUITARS/LARGE ENSEMBLE For Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes This is a lovely piece for guitar quartet or for a larger ensemble. This arrangement starts off in the key of A, with a deep, dark tune (as you'll hear on the soundfile). As each of the 4 verses enters, the texture thickens a little, and between verses two and three there is a big and uplifting key change and the tune climbs over an octave higher. With lots of imitation and a gentle flowing rhythm, this piece has something for each of the players to make their own. In the final verse, big flowing Spanish-sounding chords generate a massive wall of sound and the piece concludes with a slowed down end to the tune. This arrangement has featured in concerts in the UK for many years and it's become a real favorite with the audiences.I hope you enjoy playing it!

Guitar quartet - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4322 Composed by Fernando Sor. Arranged by Eddie Healy. Score and parts. 49 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4322. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4322). When I undertook my arranging project, Fernando Sor: Beneath the Surface, I had not yet conceived of another. Yet, Sor’s works are so charming and rich that I felt compelled to delve deeper. Again, I have taken a number of his works for solo guitar and expanded them here. This has enabled me to furnish each voice, those composed by Sor and those I’ve added, with a degree of independence that enables them to simultaneously behave independently of the others and to interact with and react to them more freely.I hope that this will inspire guitar students and more seasoned players alike to examine the structural underpinnings of his works when crafting their interpretations much as I have in producing these arrangements. Guitar Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1490151 Composed by Nicholas Britell. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Film/TV. Score and Parts. 16 pages. Derek Hasted #1067003. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1490151). SUCCESSION TV THEME - for 4 GUITARS/Large EnsembleDerek Hasted writes Originally set in the key C minor, this quirky, short, TV theme tends to prove something of an ear worm with those who hear it. Perfect to close the first half of a concert, then!I've moved the piece into the key of E minor, partly to make best use of the guitar neck, and partly to allow open string harmonics to recreate effortlessly the octave jumps in the original piano chords.I’ve added fingering where I hope it will help. The main theme moves from player to player, so that no single player has extended runs at speed and the audience will enjoy an amazing stereo effect too. The dynamics show where the tune needs to be brought out.The original is very fast, and you may find, as I do, that it breathes better on guitar if taken 10% slower, with the bonus of making the piece just that little bit longer too.I have also arranged this for guitar duet, in an arrangement that is slightly more demanding - find it from my website below.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1410591 By Toto. By David Paich and Jeff Porcaro. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop,Rock. 23 pages. Derek Hasted #993012. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1410591). AFRICA (Toto) - GUITAR QUARTET/large ensembleWritten for classical guitar, also suits acoustic or electric guitarDerek Hasted writes I wanted to make this fantastic piece accessible to as many guitarists as I could. To do that, Iâ??ve moved the key down one tone to make the keys in this piece familiar ones. My arrangement will suit a mixed ability ensemble from early intermediate to intermediate. Guitar 4 has the bottom string tuned down to D, and thereâ??s a bass clef version of the same line to suit a normally tuned bass guitar or upright bass. You can have one or both lines in your performance.Iâ??ve deleted a tiny piece of repetition near the end - the words change in the original but the music doesnâ??t - as an instrumental there was too much of the same phrase! The piece finishes with a final chord instead of a fade to nothing, as it works so much better in concert. The resulting piece still runs for four and a half minutes. Thereâ??s a set of repeat marks so that the music will fit on a normal music stand without page turns.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1395754 Composed by Derek Hasted. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Baroque,Children,Comedy,Renaissance. 18 pages. Derek Hasted #979126. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1395754). FANTASIA UPON A CABBAGE - GUITAR QUARTET/large ensembleFor Classical or Acoustic GuitarPerfect for School Music Teachers and for adults with a sense of the ridiculous...Derek Hasted writes This really does need a bit of explanation. Well, more than a bit...As a Guitar Teacher I often have to teach beginners how to read music, and of course the seven names of the musical notes can be made to spell words. Like CABBAGE.This, then, is a little piece of kitchen-based nonsense, cooking up a rather unappetising dish comprising cabbage, egg, beef and a lot, lot more cabbage. Iâ??ve arranged it (if that is the word) to include nods to the renaissance and baroque periods. The scores contain mark-ups to show where a particular player has an item of food in their motif. As well as EGG, youâ??ll find some GEG (thatâ??s scrambled egg) and a BAD EGG (and some sad music). Youâ??ll also find that the recipe includes a helping or two of BEEF.Bach comes in for a special mention, as thereâ??s a fugue-like section where the subject comes in a fifth away from the starting key (which Iâ??ve loosely interpreted as being a recipe in a foreign language) and thereâ??s some stretti (well, just about) at the end, when the fugue subjects overlap a tiny, tiny amount. And we also pay homage to the pedal section of an organ, where the CABBAGE subject comes in down low at half the speed of the original. The final, jazzy, chord at the end contains seven notes that collectively spell CABBAGE.Guitar 4 is supplied in treble and bass clefs - either or both will work in a large ensemble. So there are lots of teaching points, lots of things to ask the audience to listen out for, and a lot of mischief in a compact piece. The musical refrain CABBAGE is not the greatest motif to work with, but on reflection, when you have this much cabbage, itâ??s much better to listen to it than have to eat it...I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Guitar Ensemble - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1463461 Composed by John Dowland (1563-1626). Arranged by Clive Lane. Classical,Renaissance. Score and Parts. 31 pages. Clive Lane #1042183. Published by Clive Lane (A0.1463461). ‘Lachrimæ or Seven Tears figured in Seven passionate pavans, with divers other pavans, galliards and allemands, set forth for the lute, viols, or violons, in five parts’ is a collection of instrumental music composed by John Dowland and published in 1604. Apart from the sheer quality of the music, it is notable as the first publication of English music scored specifically for strings and for lute, and the first to have used the table layout for consort music. There are seven Lachrimae pavans, which are variations on the theme that Dowland had already made famous as a lute solo and a song (“Flow my tears”).The “divers other” compositions are: two almans (“almands”), nine lively galliards (“galiards”), two sombre pavans, and a “funerall.” There are 21 pieces in all and I have divided them into three books, retaining the original ordering of the pieces. This is Book Three - five galliards and two almans:15.  Mr Giles Hoby, his Galliard16.  Mr Nicholas Gryffith, his Galliard17.  Mr Thomas Collier, his Galliard18.  Captain Piper, his Galliard19.  Mr Bucton, his Galliard20.  Mistress Nichol’s Alman21.  Mr George Whitehead, his Alman(For the other pieces, see Books One and Two) For this arrangement for guitar quartet*, I have combined two of the parts (part three and part five) to make guitar 4 (with some minor adjustments). Time values have been halved, and in several cases (Nos. 9,12,15,16,17,20,21), I have transposed the key to a more guitar-friendly key. Clive Lane 2024*Also see my arrangement for guitar quintet.

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.797829 By Elton John. By Elton John. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop,Rock. 16 pages. Derek Hasted #6496541. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.797829). CAN YOU FEEL THE LOVE TONIGHT - 4 GUITARS or LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes I first arranged this lovely tune for The Hampshire Guitar Orchestra, and my arrangement here produces the same big sound from an intermediate guitar quartet or large ensemble. School teachers will find this is an ideal piece for an end of semester concert, and adult ensembles will find it makes a restful interlude piece in a full-length concert. My arrangement comprises two verses and a Coda, but either verse could be repeated to make an even longer performance piece. There are no page turns.Guitar 1 suits the seventh position, and guitar 4 (which is in two voices) is all in the first and second position. The middle parts could be taken in a variety of positions, and I have left the fingering for you to choose. There are many places where the faster notes can be slurred, and this does make a positive difference to the overall fluidity of the piece. There are suggested dynamics which make the piece come alive.I hope you enjoy playing this piece!
