Guitar Ensemble - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1490151 Composed by Nicholas Britell. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Film/TV. Score and Parts. 16 pages. Derek Hasted #1067003. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1490151). SUCCESSION TV THEME - for 4 GUITARS/Large EnsembleDerek Hasted writes Originally set in the key C minor, this quirky, short, TV theme tends to prove something of an ear worm with those who hear it. Perfect to close the first half of a concert, then!I've moved the piece into the key of E minor, partly to make best use of the guitar neck, and partly to allow open string harmonics to recreate effortlessly the octave jumps in the original piano chords.I’ve added fingering where I hope it will help. The main theme moves from player to player, so that no single player has extended runs at speed and the audience will enjoy an amazing stereo effect too. The dynamics show where the tune needs to be brought out.The original is very fast, and you may find, as I do, that it breathes better on guitar if taken 10% slower, with the bonus of making the piece just that little bit longer too.I have also arranged this for guitar duet, in an arrangement that is slightly more demanding - find it from my website below.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Derek's website at www.derek-hasted.co.uk/smp lists all his arrangements by title and by number of instruments, with links to soundclips and sample score.

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1395754 Composed by Derek Hasted. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Baroque,Children,Comedy,Renaissance. 18 pages. Derek Hasted #979126. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1395754). FANTASIA UPON A CABBAGE - GUITAR QUARTET/large ensembleFor Classical or Acoustic GuitarPerfect for School Music Teachers and for adults with a sense of the ridiculous...Derek Hasted writes This really does need a bit of explanation. Well, more than a bit...As a Guitar Teacher I often have to teach beginners how to read music, and of course the seven names of the musical notes can be made to spell words. Like CABBAGE.This, then, is a little piece of kitchen-based nonsense, cooking up a rather unappetising dish comprising cabbage, egg, beef and a lot, lot more cabbage. Iâ??ve arranged it (if that is the word) to include nods to the renaissance and baroque periods. The scores contain mark-ups to show where a particular player has an item of food in their motif. As well as EGG, youâ??ll find some GEG (thatâ??s scrambled egg) and a BAD EGG (and some sad music). Youâ??ll also find that the recipe includes a helping or two of BEEF.Bach comes in for a special mention, as thereâ??s a fugue-like section where the subject comes in a fifth away from the starting key (which Iâ??ve loosely interpreted as being a recipe in a foreign language) and thereâ??s some stretti (well, just about) at the end, when the fugue subjects overlap a tiny, tiny amount. And we also pay homage to the pedal section of an organ, where the CABBAGE subject comes in down low at half the speed of the original. The final, jazzy, chord at the end contains seven notes that collectively spell CABBAGE.Guitar 4 is supplied in treble and bass clefs - either or both will work in a large ensemble. So there are lots of teaching points, lots of things to ask the audience to listen out for, and a lot of mischief in a compact piece. The musical refrain CABBAGE is not the greatest motif to work with, but on reflection, when you have this much cabbage, itâ??s much better to listen to it than have to eat it...I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Guitar quartet - Digital Download SKU: ZZ.DZ-4322 Composed by Fernando Sor. Arranged by Eddie Healy. Score and parts. 49 pages. Les Productions d'OZ - Digital #DZ 4322. Published by Les Productions d'OZ - Digital (ZZ.DZ-4322). When I undertook my arranging project, Fernando Sor: Beneath the Surface, I had not yet conceived of another. Yet, Sor’s works are so charming and rich that I felt compelled to delve deeper. Again, I have taken a number of his works for solo guitar and expanded them here. This has enabled me to furnish each voice, those composed by Sor and those I’ve added, with a degree of independence that enables them to simultaneously behave independently of the others and to interact with and react to them more freely.I hope that this will inspire guitar students and more seasoned players alike to examine the structural underpinnings of his works when crafting their interpretations much as I have in producing these arrangements. Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1085456 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Traditional. Score and parts. 23 pages. Derek Hasted #689606. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1085456). PORTSMOUTH - 4 GUITARS or LARGE ENSEMBLEFor Classical or Acoustic Guitar - sometimes it's erroneously listed here as Electric Guitar.Derek Hasted writes Although this piece was made famous by Mike Oldfield, it first appeared in John Playford’s “The Dancing Master†in 1701, and also found fame in the hands of Ralph Vaughan Williams. My arrangement starts with a slow, teasing, introduction, and introduces the famous melody very slowly and gently. “What Shall We Do With The Drunken Sailor†also makes a few appearances before we let the brakes off and burst into the tune that many people know. The music isn’t hard to play, and each line has some music interest, though only Guitar 1 has to venture up the neck. It’s ideal for a mixed ability ensemble, and runs at nearly five minutes, to make a substantial concert item that builds up and up. This arrangement was a firm favourite with the Hampshire Guitar Orchestra (HAGO) and their audiences. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as HAGO did!

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1322118 By Cyndi Lauper. By Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop. 21 pages. Derek Hasted #910475. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1322118). TRUE COLORS (Cyndi Lauper) - GUITAR QUARTET/large ensemblePrimarily for Classical or Acoustic GuitarDerek Hasted writes This charming and uplifting piece makes a wonderful concert item for all abilities of Guitar players from Early Intermediate upwards. My quartet has parts that increase slightly in complexity from bass to tune, so thereâ??s something for everyone here. The bass line is supplied in both treble and bass clefs, and the two parts are identical, so for a large ensemble, you can have one or the other or both in your performance.Everything is comfortable to play, and my transcription is based on the gentle simplicity found in Cyndi Lauperâ??s official video, and placed in a key that suits the wide range of pitch in this piece. The music rises and falls as the song progresses, making the dynamics happen almost automatically. But there are plenty of opportunities in the phrasing to make this piece absolutely magical.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. A wintry landscape, a miracle, a wondrous season: all these are evoked in this traditional English Christmas carol that's also popular among Celtic music fans.  Arranged as a jubilant guitar quartet, this snowy atmospheric music is recommended for Christmas plays, pageants and programs, holiday recitals and Christmas concerts as well as traditional Christmas church services and other seasonal worship events.  Suggested uses: prelude, postlude, offertory, interlude, Christmas play overture, special music and silent prayer accompaniment.  Key: G major.  14 pages of music (that includes the score and separate two-page parts for guitar 1, guitar 2, guitar 3 and guitar 4)     What can I give Him, poor as I am?     If I were a shepherd, I would give a lamb.     If I were a wise man, I would do my part     But what can I give Him?  Give Him my heart. .

Guitar - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1410591 By Toto. By David Paich and Jeff Porcaro. Arranged by Derek Hasted. Pop,Rock. 23 pages. Derek Hasted #993012. Published by Derek Hasted (A0.1410591). AFRICA (Toto) - GUITAR QUARTET/large ensembleWritten for classical guitar, also suits acoustic or electric guitarDerek Hasted writes I wanted to make this fantastic piece accessible to as many guitarists as I could. To do that, Iâ??ve moved the key down one tone to make the keys in this piece familiar ones. My arrangement will suit a mixed ability ensemble from early intermediate to intermediate. Guitar 4 has the bottom string tuned down to D, and thereâ??s a bass clef version of the same line to suit a normally tuned bass guitar or upright bass. You can have one or both lines in your performance.Iâ??ve deleted a tiny piece of repetition near the end - the words change in the original but the music doesnâ??t - as an instrumental there was too much of the same phrase! The piece finishes with a final chord instead of a fade to nothing, as it works so much better in concert. The resulting piece still runs for four and a half minutes. Thereâ??s a set of repeat marks so that the music will fit on a normal music stand without page turns.I hope you enjoy playing this piece! This is one of a large and growing range of accessible ensembles from experienced arranger Derek Hasted, and is supplied as full score and parts. Guitar Ensemble Guitar - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.928264 Composed by G F Handel, anon. Arranged by Simon James. Baroque,Christmas,Standards. Score and parts. 10 pages. DML #6098171. Published by DML (A0.928264). A popular Christmas carol, the tune usually used today is from an 1848 edition by Lowell Mason for The National Psalmist (Boston, 1848). The name of this tune was given as Antioch, and was attributed as being From Handel.  . Consequently, and with Mason's attribution to Handel, there has long been speculation over how much a part Handel's Messiah had in Joy to the World. However, resemblances between Messiah and Joy to the World, have been dismissed as 'chance resemblance' by Handel scholars today. I have combined Handelian elements with the tune that most people know to create an arrangement that works well for guitar quartet retaining the bounce and vigour of the carol.
