Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1265521 Composed by Luigi Boccherini. Arranged by Ander. 19th Century,Classical,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 9 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #858322. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1265521). This Trombone Trio arrangement was created to preserve the characteristics of the original work, inspiring and significant to Beethoven’s well-known choral symphony. It is suitable for young music students and professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations, and didactic material. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one key change, maintaining the essence of the striking melody. Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony Op. 125 incorporates part of the poem An die Freude (“To Joyâ€), a hymn written by Friedrich Schiller, with the text sung by soloists and a choir in its last movement. It was the first example of a major composer using the human voice as prominently as instruments in a symphony, creating a far-reaching work that set the tone for the symphonic form adopted by Romantic composers. This is Ludwig van Beethoven’s last complete symphony. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best-known works in the Western repertoire, considered an icon and predecessor of Romantic music and one of Beethoven’s great masterpieces. It was first performed on May 7, 1824 at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria.

Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270948 Composed by Solage. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Medieval. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #863333. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1270948). Sources suggest that the song is a love ballad that praises the beauty and virtues of a woman named Calextone, who was a lady from the town of Arouse. The lyrics describe her as having great value and worth, and her beauty and grace are compared to smoke and mist. The composer of the song, Solage, also refers to himself in the refrain with a double meaning, using the spelling soulage. The song is considered a representative example of French secular music from the late fourteenth century. It is not known whether Calextone was a real person or a fictional character created by the composer. Some sources suggest that the song may have been composed for a wedding, possibly that of Jeanne de Boulogne, and that Solage may have been in the service of Gaston Fébus, compte de Foix, who had a financial interest in the marriage. The composer of the song, Solage, was a prominent figure in the Ars subtilior movement, which was characterized by complex rhythms, intricate melodies, and highly stylized notation. The song is considered a representative example of this musical style, which flourished in France during the late medieval period. The song's use of acrostics and double meanings in the lyrics, as well as its intricate musical structure, demonstrate the sophistication and complexity of the Ars subtilior style. Overall, Calextone qui fut dame d'Arouse is an important example of medieval French music and its evolution over time.

Trombone - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1271003 Composed by Solage. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Medieval. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #863388. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1271003). INSTRUMENTATION: 1 Tenor Trombone, 2 Bass TrombonesSolage's Fumeux fume is a three-voice rondeau that is considered significant in music history for several reasons:Experimental style: Fumeux fume is an example of Solage's experimental style, which linked text and music together in terms of form or meaning. The piece is known for its extravagantly chromatic sound, which was unusual for the time. It also contains some of the lowest tessitura vocal writing in any music of the period. Cultural significance: Fumeux fume is about a Parisian literary coterie known as the Society of Fumeurs, or 'smokers'. The lyrics describe a smoker who smokes smoke and steeps his thoughts in smoke. The piece is significant because it provides insight into the cultural practices of the time and the role of smoking in society.Musical subtilitas: Fumeux fume is also significant because it demonstrates Solage's musical subtilitas, or subtlety, in his tonal language. The piece is complex and requires careful analysis to fully understand its structure and meaning.Overall, Solage's Fumeux fume is an important piece of music history because of its experimental style, cultural significance, and demonstration of Solage's musical subtilitas.

Brass Ensemble Trombone - Digital Download SKU: A0.928144 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by P. F. Strohm. Baroque,Contest,Festival,Instructional,Standards. Score and parts. 76 pages. Pete Strohm Music #5041137. Published by Pete Strohm Music (A0.928144). Volume II of this series, containing five J.S. Bach keyboard works from Inventions and Sinfonias, expertly arranged for three Trombones (2 Tenor 1 Bass). This edition contains tempos, ornamentation, articulation and dynamics to help guide players with less experience performing baroque music. Ornaments are authentic, either from Bach or his immediate students. Tempos, dynamics, and most articulations are my recommendations. The first trombone part is provided in both tenor and bass clef. There are also two sets of first and second parts, one with original ornaments and one with the ornaments realized in suggested notation, as well as a guide to interpreting ornaments. The Bass Trombone has no ornaments added. Performers are, of course, free to devise their own interpretations. Each volume of Bach for Trombone Trio is carefully compiled to work as a single, compatible set with a playing time under ten minutes, excellent for use in both contest and recital. Medium-Advanced level of difficulty. Performance time for all five works is 8:17. Member, ASCAP.
