This is the first of a set of twelve sonatas published in Rome in 1694 for 2 violins and cello or cembalo. This arrangement provides an opportunity for a trio of clarinets of intermediate standard or above to perform music of the Baroque period in authentic style. Additional dynamics have been added in parentheses ( ) and additional slurs are shown with dashed lines. Opportunities to add ornaments such as trills and mordants has been left at the performers' discretion. The four movements, PRELUDIO; Largo; Corrente; Allegro, Adagio and Allemande; Presto, make an enjoyable concert item.
