Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Clarinet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1270529 Composed by Solage. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Medieval. 10 pages. Jmsgu3 #862904. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1270529). Sources suggest that the song is a love ballad that praises the beauty and virtues of a woman named Calextone, who was a lady from the town of Arouse. The lyrics describe her as having great value and worth, and her beauty and grace are compared to smoke and mist. The composer of the song, Solage, also refers to himself in the refrain with a double meaning, using the spelling soulage. The song is considered a representative example of French secular music from the late fourteenth century. It is not known whether Calextone was a real person or a fictional character created by the composer. Some sources suggest that the song may have been composed for a wedding, possibly that of Jeanne de Boulogne, and that Solage may have been in the service of Gaston Fébus, compte de Foix, who had a financial interest in the marriage. The composer of the song, Solage, was a prominent figure in the Ars subtilior movement, which was characterized by complex rhythms, intricate melodies, and highly stylized notation. The song is considered a representative example of this musical style, which flourished in France during the late medieval period. The song's use of acrostics and double meanings in the lyrics, as well as its intricate musical structure, demonstrate the sophistication and complexity of the Ars subtilior style. Overall, Calextone qui fut dame d'Arouse is an important example of medieval French music and its evolution over time.

Clarinet Trio,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1148910 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Instructional,March,Opera,Romantic Period. 10 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #749043. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1148910). This arrangement adapted for clarinet trio was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, that is, inspiring and significant to the already known choral symphony by Beethoven, indicated to be performed by young music students, who want to enter the symphonic music, moreover, it can also be used by professional musicians, for recitals, repertoire, academic presentations and didactic material. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change in key, so that it is comfortable for all instruments in the formation, thus maintaining the essence of the striking melody, as well as using it for ensemble practice among musicians of different traditions. Beethoven's Ninth Symphony Op. 125 incorporates part of the poem An die Freude (To Joy), a hymn written by Friedrich Schiller, with the text sung by soloists and a choir in its last movement. It was the first example of a major composer using the human voice as prominently as the instruments in a symphony, thus creating a far-reaching work that set the tone for the symphonic form that was to be adopted by Romantic composers. This is the last complete symphony composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. The choral symphony, better known as the Ninth Symphony or The Ninth, is one of the best known works in the Western repertoire, considered both an icon and predecessor of Romantic music, and one of Beethoven's great masterpieces, where it was first performed on May 7, 1824, the same year it was completed, at the Kärntnertortheater in Vienna, Austria. The conductor was Michael Umlauf, the theater's music director, and Beethoven - dissuaded from conducting by the advanced stage of his deafness - was given a special place on the stage next to the conductor. It was later rearranged by Herbert von Karajan to become the anthem of the European Union in 1972, the national anthem of Rhodesia from 1974 until 1979, Rise, O Voices of Rhodesia, used the tune Ode to Joy..

Stephen Wood Music #3060723. Published by Stephen Wood Music (A0.1011113). Drosera: the morning dew of the sun is a fun piece for clarinet trio (2 Bb and bass cl).  The music is a wonderful example of music inspired by nature with the intention of connecting with an audience to tell a story. The Drosera spatulata is a small elusive carnivorous plant in the swamp.  I happened upon a small Drosera one afternoon while floating freely in my canoe and stopped to observe it’s existence.  Composed for the Okefenokee Wildlife Refuge in honor of the 50th Anniversary of the Wilderness Act in completion of the 2014 Composer-in-Residence collaboration for the Wilderness Act Performance Series.  The performance time is around 6 minutes.

Clarinet Trio,Woodwind Ensemble - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1147409 Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven. Arranged by Ander. Classical,Film/TV,Instructional,March,Romantic Period. 10 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #747617. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1147409). This arrangement adapted for clarinet trio was written keeping the characteristics of the original work, in order to be performed by young music students who want to enter the symphonic music. As much as it is a funeral march, it is well suited for any musical performance occasion. The transcription is faithful to the structure, with only one change of key, so that it is comfortable for all the instruments in the formation, as well as for use in ensemble practice between musicians of different traditions. Ludwig van Beethoven began concentrated work on his Symphony No. 7 in A major Op. 92 in 1811, it was completed in 1812, and was dedicated to Count Moritz von Fries, and premiered in Vienna on December 8, 1813. It is considered a remarkable example of the more ebullient side of Beethoven's compositional personality and evidence that even after the onset of deafness, he still found cause for musical optimism. The second movement Allegretto is a funeral march in everything but name. Often several contrasting melodic ideas are made to coexist, as if Beethoven were imagining several processions converging on the cemetery at the same time. As he was working on this symphony during the years of the Napoleonic Wars, this experience was probably within his experience. It was also used as the soundtrack to the film Knowing, by director Alex Proyas and starring Nicolas Cage, where it is used in the final scene of the film. Beethoven called Symphony No. 7 his most excellent symphony, and a music critic of the time reported, this symphony is the most melodically rich and the most pleasing and comprehensible of all Beethoven's symphonies..

Clarinet Trio,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.953438 By The Beatles. By John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Pop. 6 pages. RayThompsonMusic #559177. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.953438). Arranged standard clarinet trio.3rd part cold be played by bass clarinet to give more depth to the music. Eleanor Rigby is a song by the English rock band the Beatles from their 1966 album Revolver. It was also issued on a double A-side single, paired with Yellow Submarine. The song was written primarily by Paul McCartney and credited to Lennon–McCartney. The song continued the transformation of the Beatles from a mainly rock and roll- and pop-oriented act to a more experimental, studio-based band. With a double string quartet arrangement by George Martin and lyrics providing a narrative on loneliness, Eleanor Rigby broke sharply with popular music conventions, both musically and lyrically. Richie Unterberger of AllMusic cites the band's singing about the neglected concerns and fates of the elderly on the song as just one example of why the Beatles' appeal reached so far beyond the traditional rock audience. YouTube Link is clt quintet version.

Clarinet Trio,Woodwind Ensemble Bass Clarinet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1443913 Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Baroque,Chamber,Contest,Festival,Historic,Standards. 35 pages. Jmsgu3 #1023874. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1443913). J.S. Bach's Trio Sonata No. 1 in E-flat Major, BWV 525, is a significant work in his oeuvre for organ. Here are some key points about this composition: It is one of Bach's six trio sonatas for organ, composed around 1727-1730 during his time in Leipzig. The sonata has three movements: Allegro moderato, Adagio, and Allegro. It showcases Bach's mastery of counterpoint, with the three melodic lines expertly woven together in the trio texture. The sonata is written for two manuals and pedal, allowing for a rich contrapuntal interplay between the three voices. The opening Allegro moderato movement features lively imitative entries. The Adagio slow movement is expressive and songlike, with the three voices engaging in an intimate musical dialogue. The final Allegro is a spirited gigue with intricate contrapuntal writing and virtuosic passagework.BWV 525 exemplifies Bach's ability to create complex polyphonic works of great artistic merit for a single instrument like the organ. So, in summary, this trio sonata stands out as a prime example of Bach's contrapuntal genius and innovative writing for the organ, combining intellectual rigor with profound musical expression.

Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Trio Bass Clarinet - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1271286 Composed by Solage. Arranged by James M. Guthrie. Chamber,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Historic,Medieval. 12 pages. Jmsgu3 #863684. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.1271286). Solage's Fumeux fume is a three-voice rondeau that is considered significant in music history for several reasons:Experimental style: Fumeux fume is an example of Solage's experimental style, which linked text and music together in terms of form or meaning. The piece is known for its extravagantly chromatic sound, which was unusual for the time. It also contains some of the lowest tessitura vocal writing in any music of the period. Cultural significance: Fumeux fume is about a Parisian literary coterie known as the Society of Fumeurs, or 'smokers'. The lyrics describe a smoker who smokes smoke and steeps his thoughts in smoke. The piece is significant because it provides insight into the cultural practices of the time and the role of smoking in society.Musical subtilitas: Fumeux fume is also significant because it demonstrates Solage's musical subtilitas, or subtlety, in his tonal language. The piece is complex and requires careful analysis to fully understand its structure and meaning.Overall, Solage's Fumeux fume is an important piece of music history because of its experimental style, cultural significance, and demonstration of Solage's musical subtilitas.
