SKU: A0.919032

Composed by Anton Bruckner. Arranged by L.C. Harnsberger. Contemporary,Multicultural,Romantic Period,Wedding,World. Score and parts. 31 pages. LCH Music #3516355. Published by LCH Music (A0.919032).

This piece for horn quartet was adapted from three rarely heard pieces by Anton Bruckner. The Praludium and Postlude were originally written for keyboard. Bruckner was probably the finest organ improvisor of his time, but he wrote very few pieces for that instrument. The Chorale is adapted from an early quartet for men's voices c. 1848. Fortunately these three pieces work perfectly together for four horns. Bruckner's unmistakable harmonies, counterpoint, and drama are all present in this work. All attempts were made to create an edition that accurately reflects Bruckner's music as if he had originally written it for horn quartet. Enharmonic spellings were retained, and the articulations and dynamics were adjusted to both reflect Bruckner's intentions while making the music appropriate for live performances. Praludium, Chorale, and Postlude for Four Horns is a perfect piece for recitals, festivals, weddings, and any other ceremony.

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Jörg Richter. Baroque,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 6 pages. Jörg Richter #5349485. Published by Jörg Richter (A0.798693).

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Christmas,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. 7 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #725187. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1124441).

This easy arrangement for horn in F quartet was adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students due to the ease imposed on the piece; however, this does not preclude it from being played by professionals and music teachers. It is also ideal for academic recitals, weddings, student method and ceremonies that are arranged in the same way as the piece contains. The Cantata 156 (BWV 156) was written for the third Sunday after Epiphany in 1729, and was first performed on January 23 of that year. The text is by Picander, one of Bach's favorite librettists. of the four cantatas written by Bach for the feast, it was the last and only one scored for solo voice. This is a choral cantata, employing a choral melody in several movements. Cantata 156, in fact, employs two different choral melodies and texts in the second and sixth movements. A cantata is a sung symphony consisting of several parts, one of which is the Arioso, which is the initial instrumental part.

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Ander. Baroque,Christmas,Easter,Sacred,Wedding. 10 pages. Woods Only, Arrangements #724873. Published by Woods Only, Arrangements (A0.1124116).

This easy arrangement for horn in F quartet has been adapted to be simple to perform and understand the structure of the original work for various levels of musical knowledge. It can be played freely by beginning students because of the ease imposed on the piece. It is often performed at wedding ceremonies slowly and reverently, challenging the effect suggested by Bach in his original score for voices with trumpet, oboes, strings, and continuous bass. This is one of Bach's most beautiful cantatas, made famous by the Jesus the Joy of Men chorus. It was originally composed for Advent 1716 in Weimar. Years later, already in Leipzig, Advent was tempus clausum, there was no music in the churches. Bach then reworked it for the Feast of Mary's Visitation. It is the final chorale of the cantata Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben. Although it is the 32nd cantata composed by Bach, of those that have survived, it was given BWV 147 in the complete catalog of his works.

SKU: A0.919036

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by L.C. Harnsberger. Baroque,Christmas,Concert,Easter,Wedding. Score and parts. 17 pages. LCH Music #6474799. Published by LCH Music (A0.919036).

This set and parts contains TWO VERSIONS: one complete version, and one easier short version (see below)

Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring is a chorale from J. S. Bach’s cantata Herz un Mund und Tat und Leben (Heart and Mouth and Deed and Life), BWV 147. The original scoring was for trumpet, oboes, two violins, basso continuo, and chorus. The melody is instantly recognizable and has been featured in countless films, recordings, and TV shows including Downtown Abbey, The Minority Report, The Muppet Show, the album Switched-On Bach by Moog-synthesizer artist Wendy Carlos, and the song Lady Linda by The Beach Boys. It is also found on most Top-100 lists of All-Time Classical Music Favorites.

Two arrangements are included:

The Complete Version is the entire cantata and is just over four minutes long. This version is perfect for worship services and recitals.

The Short Version is a much simpler arrangement that is ideal for Weddings. It conveniently repeats sixteen measures so it can be as short as one minute (perhaps for a candle lighting ceremony), and may be repeated as needed if the processional takes longer than expected, or for any situation where you need to vamp.

Composed by Johann Sebastian Bach. Arranged by Jörg Richter. Baroque,Praise & Worship,Sacred. 6 pages. Jörg Richter #5349475. Published by Jörg Richter (A0.798692).

The arrangement for French Horn Quartet is based on an arrangement by Johann Sebastian Bach.

Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme (literally: Awake, the voice is calling us) is a Lutheran hymn written in German by Philipp Nicolai, first published in 1599 together with Wie schön leuchtet der Morgenstern. It appears in German hymnals and in several English hymnals in translations such as Wake, Awake, for Night Is Flying (Catherine Winkworth, 1858), Wake, O wake! with tidings thrilling (Francis Crawford Burkitt, 1906), and Up! Awake! From Highest Steeple (George Ratcliffe Woodward, 1908). Johann Sebastian Bach based a chorale cantata on the hymn, Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme, BWV 140, one of its many settings for organ and for voices. (From: Wikipedia.org).
