He came from something of a musical dynasty, with his father and son (both called Karl) being musicians and composers. Originally intended for string quartet, this arrangement for four horns would make an ideal short item in a recital or perhaps as a calm, and tuneful encore piece. The set comprises full score and parts; note that the horn 4 part is in bass clef (modern notation). Difficulty level : Intermediate/Advanced.

The lyrics were written by Georg Weissel in 1623, for the inauguration of the Altroßgärter Kirche in Königsberg.
