Diego Marani #717652. Published by Diego Marani (A0.1115928). A barcarolle (from French, also barcarole; originally, Italian barcarola or barcaruola, from barca 'boat') is a traditional folk song sung by Venetian gondoliers, or a piece of music composed in that style. It is characterized by a rhythm reminiscent of the gondolier's stroke, almost invariably in 6/8 meter at a moderate tempo. In classical music, the most famous barcarolle is Jacques Offenbach's Belle nuit, ô nuit d'amour from his opera The Tales of Hoffmann. This easy arrangement for bassoon with piano accompaniment is suitable for classroom, repertoire and recital.

Bassoon,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1303402 Composed by Gabriel Faure. Arranged by Harry Walker. 19th Century,Romantic Period. Score and part. 8 pages. SCORE EDITIONS #892976. Published by SCORE EDITIONS (A0.1303402). This mélodie is the first in a set of three songs, opus 7, which also comprises Hymne and Barcarolle respectively. All three were composed between 1870 and 1877, then collected and published in 1878 under the title Trois Mélodies. Not originally conceived as a song cycle, these three songs acquired this opus number much later, in the 1890s. The poem for Après un rêve was loosely adapted from an anonymous Italian text by Romain Bussine. It describes, in the form of a dream, the imaginary flight of two lovers who are head over heels in love, although the last verse brings the dreamer inexorably back to harsh reality as dawn is breaking. In this version, the composition was arranged for Bassoon and Piano by Harry Walker.

Published by Imagine Music - Digital (IZ.PDP049). 9 x 12 inches. The Variations on Im tiefen Keller by Vaas consists of an introduction played by the accompaniment that leads to a brief cadenza for the bassoon. A short cadenza connects this Variation to the Finale, a rollicking treatment of Im tiefen Keller in 6 I 8 meter. This is the longest portion of the work and contains two tutti sections which employ a variety of rhythmic patterns Vaas employs before bring the work to its conclusion.
