Bassoon,Piano - Level 2 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1273342 By Billie Eilish. By Billie Eilish O'Connell and Finneas O'Connell. Arranged by Milanov. Film/TV,Singer/Songwriter. Score and part. 6 pages. Milanov #865495. Published by Milanov (A0.1273342). What Was I Made For? From Barbie by Billie Eilish for bassoon and piano accompaniment. Easy intermediate. What Was I Made For from Barbie by Billie Eilish is a melancholic ballad about feeling lost and uncertain about one's identity. The lyrics explore themes of existentialism, anxiety, and depression. The song's production is sparse and atmospheric, with Eilish's vocals taking center stage. The overall effect is a haunting and introspective track that will resonate with anyone who has ever felt lost or alone. The song ends with a sense of resignation, as Eilish sings, I guess I'll just keep on floating. However, the song's message is ultimately one of hope, as it suggests that even in the midst of uncertainty, there is still beauty to be found.

Bassoon,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1316569 Composed by Angela Salvaggione. Classical,Contest,Festival,Instructional. Score and part. 8 pages. Angela Salvaggione #905294. Published by Angela Salvaggione (A0.1316569). This piece should be fast and exciting, with very precise counting and rhythm. Imagine an old-time steam locomotive chugging down the tracks. Listen for the train whistles in the piano part. By the very end, the ride is over and the train is pulling into its final stop at the station. This piece is very much influenced by the piano piece Le Chemin de Fer, by Charles-Valentin Alkan. I highly recommend you find a recording of this piano piece to listen to. Don’t try to play Train Ride that fast though! My recording of the bassoon piece is at quarter note at 164. You need not play it that fast. So long as your playing has energy, very solid steady beat, and tongued notes are clear, that will carry the feel of the piece. Time: ca. 2:00-3:00, depending on tempo choiceKey: D minorRange: D2-Eb4I would use this piece with my second or third year students. Younger students should play it on the slower side. More advances students can aim for a faster tempo and use this as a great opportunity to work on keeping fast eighth note passages even.Once the student has purchased this piece, an adjudicator’s copy may be made. Teachers may purchase individual copies for each student’s use. Studio licensing is not available.

Bassoon,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.549346 By Barry Manilow. By Bruce Johnston. Arranged by James M. Guthrie, ASCAP. Contemporary,Rock. Score and part. 8 pages. Jmsgu3 #3486719. Published by jmsgu3 (A0.549346). Duration: ca. 3:00, score: 5 pages, solo part: 1 page, piano part: 2 pages.Very famous song suitable for church, recital or nightclub. I Write the Songs is a popular song written by Bruce Johnston in 1975 and made famous by Barry Manilow. Manilow's version reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in January 1976[2] after spending two weeks atop the Billboard adult contemporary chart in December 1975.[3] It won a Grammy Award for Song of the Year and was nominated for Record of the Year in 1977.[3] Billboard ranked it as the No. 13 song of 1976.[4]The original version was recorded by The Captain & Tennille, who worked with Johnston in the early 1970s with The Beach Boys. It appears on their 1975 album, Love Will Keep Us Together. The first release of I Write the Songs as a single was by then teen-idol David Cassidy from his 1975 solo album The Higher They Climb, which was also produced by Bruce Johnston. Cassidy's version reached #11 on the UK Singles Chart in August of that year.[5]Johnston has stated that, for him, the I in the song is God,[2] and that songs come from the spirit of creativity in all of us. He has said that the song is not about his Beach Boys bandmate Brian Wilson.[6]Manilow was initially reluctant to record the song, stating in his autobiography Sweet Life: The problem with the song was that if you didn't listen carefully to the lyric, you would think that the singer was singing about himself. It could be misinterpreted as a monumental ego trip.[3] After persuasion by Clive Davis, then president of Arista Records, Manilow recorded the song, and his version of I Write the Songs was the first single taken from the album Tryin' to Get the Feeling. It first charted on the Billboard Hot 100 on November 15, 1975, reaching the top of the chart nine weeks later, on January 17, 1976. Wikipedia

Bassoon,Piano - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.791244 By Neil Diamond. By Bob Russell and Bobby Scott. Arranged by Kevin P Holdgate. Pop. Score and part. 8 pages. Kevin P Holdgate #5772007. Published by Kevin P Holdgate (A0.791244). KPHMS 'Solo' CollectionHe Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother is a ballad written by Bobby Scott and Bob Russell. Originally recorded by Kelly Gordon in 1969, the song became a worldwide hit for The Hollies later that year and a minor hit for Neil Diamond in 1970. It has been recorded by many artists in subsequent years.Scott and Russell were introduced to each other by Johnny Mercer, at a California nightclub. Although Russell was dying of lymphoma and the pair met only three times, they managed to collaborate on the song. This is an arrangement as a solo with piano accompaniment that I would judge to be around Grade 5/6 standard for most instruments.
