In the Hall of the Mountain King (Dovregubbens hall) was originally composed by Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) as incidental music for Peer Gynt - a five-act play by Henrik Ibsen (1828-1906). In the Hall of the Mountain King was later included as the finale in Peer Gynt, Suite No. 1, Op. 46, and has become one of Grieg’s most recognizable works.
