Woodwind Ensemble,Woodwind Quintet Bassoon,Clarinet,Flute,Oboe - Digital Download SKU: A0.502627 Composed by Piae Cantiones. Arranged by Ray Thompson. Christmas,Classical,Sacred. 10 pages. Published by RayThompsonMusic (A0.502627). Also known as Unto us a boy is born Puer nobis nascitur, usually translated as Unto Us Is Born a Son, is a medieval Christmas carol found in a number of manuscript sources—the 14th-century German Moosburg Gradual and a 15th-century Trier manuscript. The book became well known in Britain after a rare original copy of Piae Cantiones owned by Peter of Nyland was given as a gift to the British Minister in Stockholm. He subsequently gave it to John Mason Neale in 1852, and it was from this copy that Neale, in collaboration with Thomas Helmore published songs in two collections in 1853 and 1854 respectively, although this carol was not included in either. The carol became popular as a processional hymn following a translation by George Ratcliffe Woodward first published in 1902.[7] Percy Dearmer also translated the hymn for inclusion in The Oxford Book of Carols (1928) as Unto Us a Boy Is Born. Both translations are commonly used. 5 verses, all differnt instrumentation Arranged standard wind quintet.

Soprano solo, SS, and organ or piano - Moderately Easy - Digital Download SKU: MQ.56-0105-E Composed by Howard Goodall. Christmas, Lessons and Carols. 7 pages. Duration 4 minutes, 9 seconds. MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music #56-0105-E. Published by MorningStar Music Publishers - Digital Sheet Music (MQ.56-0105-E). Latin.Originally conceived for the ensemble Enchanted Voices, these carols for SSA voices and organ (or piano) represent the composer’s desire for the tunes and texts to be heard in a new and fresh way. Largely contemplative, sometimes set against a gently-undulating foundation, these work well for concert and church use. Sometimes ethereal, sometimes other-worldly, the pieces succeed in bringing together the ancient purity of the medieval past and the here and now. Duration 4:09.

Piano Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.828262 Composed by Anonymous. Arranged by Paul Thurmond. 20th Century,Baroque,Christian,Christmas,Sacred. Score. 5 pages. Paul Thurmond #4969093. Published by Paul Thurmond (A0.828262). Tune: PUER NOBIS NASCITURUse: Prelude, PostludeThis is an Epiphany hymn that I set in the style of Handel's harpsichord variations. I recorded it on harpsichord, but it also works great on a piano. The theme is stated plainly. The first variation adds running eighth notes in the right hand. The second variations switches the eighth notes to the left hand, and changes the harmony a bit.The third variation adds triplets in the right hand, while the left hand plays the same pattern over and over, a technique known as a ground bass. In the recording, I play it using the lute stop. The fourth variation is a sarabande, a slow dance in triple meter with frequent emphasis on the second beat of the measure. The fifth and final variation states the melody in octaves in the left hand, while the right hand goes crazy with sixteenth notes. The first eight measures of the right hand are inverted and modified to form the second eight measures.I had a lot of fun writing this. I hope you have as much fun playing it.
