Instrumental Duet Instrumental Duet,Tenor Saxophone,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.589001 Composed by Traditional. Arranged by David McKeown. Folk,Hanukkah,Jewish,World. Score and parts. 6 pages. David McKeown #6017121. Published by David McKeown (A0.589001). 7.40pm is a traditional Russian Jewish tune, often performed by Klezmer musicians. This version is arranged as a duet for one Trumpet and one Tenor Saxophone. It isn’t completely clear where the title 7.40pm comes from. One interpretation is that 7.40pm was the time the Odessa tram conductors finished work and danced to this tune. But there are versions titled 7.40am which may refer to the time of Jewish early morning prayers. Whatever the origin, there are several Russian recordings of 7.40pm that predate the 1917 revolution.7.40pm is simply arranged in a key and range best suited to the instruments. After a slow and expressively beginning, the melody switches to dance tempo.  7.40pm is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above. With a performance time of a little over three minutes, this version of 7.40pm is perfect for recital and concert performances, both formal and informal. Instrumental Duet Alto Saxophone,Instrumental Duet,Trumpet - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.591160 Composed by David McKeown. Easter,Folk,Jazz,Ragtime,Traditional. Score and parts. 4 pages. David McKeown #6285009. Published by David McKeown (A0.591160). The Candy Cakewalk is a fun and original duet written by David McKeown for one Trumpet and one Alto Saxophone. The Candy Cakewalk is one in a series of ten Easter-themed duets each written in a different American dance style. The Cakewalk was popular in the early twentieth century but its origins go back to slave plantations in the nineteenth century where dancers would often compete for a prize of cake. The music was a marriage of European March and African-American syncopation and was a forerunner of Ragtime. The Candy Cakewalk is suitable for players at an intermediate level and above, with the accessible key and range balanced by the fast tempo, some syncopated rhythms and accidentals. The playing-time is around one and a half minutes, but can be lengthened by adding repeats at the performer’s discretion. The Candy Cakewalk is a perfect upbeat addition to any performance program, formal or informal. Click on the link above to hear a full YouTube performance played on the clarinet version of this duet. There are many more top quality arrangements and compositions by David McKeown for you to browse at http://www.sheetmusicplus.com/publishers/david-mckeown/6203
