Everybody Wants to Rule the World was somewhat of an afterthought during the 1985 recording of Songs from the Big Chair.  Initially regarded as not fitting with the rest of the album, the song was written and recorded in two weeks and placed at the end of the track listing.  After its release, however, the song went on to be awarded Best Single at the Brit Awards the following year and was awarded a 2015 BMI award for 6 million radio airplays. Not sure if anyone has an opinion of this song other than it will never get old.  This arrangement for solo vibraphone is an up-tempo shuffle and based on the radio/MTV edit, and endeavors to capture the easy feeling of an enjoyable song from the 1980s.

Alan Duguid #711259. Published by Alan Duguid (A0.1108613). From the hit 1961 film Breakfast at Tiffany's comes this tasteful arrangement of Moon River for Vibraphone and Piano. After a short piano introduction the Vibraphone soloist takes the iconic melody before roles are reversed with a new countermelody over the piano. This arrangement has been used for grade examinations, concerts and recitals, accessible to a range of performance levels.

Bruno Cavalcante #5748927. Published by Bruno Cavalcante (A0.981380). In Baroque music, the key of B minor had a melancholy quality. Bach reserved it for a few of his most impressive works, such as the Kyrie in the Mass in B minor. Bach composed his ‘French’ suites as a young man of thirty, when he was working at the court of Köthen. However, the suites have nothing to do with the court. Bach wrote them for teaching purposes in his own private circle. The first five appear in their original form in the little music book he compiled in 1722 for his second wife Anna Magdalena, possibly as a wedding present. But Bach continued to rework the pieces. The later versions, with the addition of a sixth suite, have survived thanks to the many copies made by his pupils. They are rewarding practice pieces that despite a certain compositional complexity (it is Bach, after all), do not make extreme demands on the player.

Published by Will Alderman Music (A0.1017152). Wheel is the last track off of John Mayer's album, Heavier Things, released on September 9th, 2003. Mayer wrote this song after deleting numbers out of his cell phone that he knew he would, more than likely, never call again. This experience provided the inspiration for the song. This is an arrangement that was started in 2012 while I was in my MM program at Ithaca. I completed the arrangement this year upon starting my DMA program at James Madison University.
