Vibraphone Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1436071 Composed by Adam Lenhart. 21st Century,Contemporary,Contest,Early Music,Festival,Instructional. Individual part. 9 pages. Adam Lenhart #1016230. Published by Adam Lenhart (A0.1436071). “I grew up in the small town of Ottawa Lake, Michigan. My perspective of life in the rural midwest of the United States was quite pastoral, peaceful and quiet, but in 2020 I moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan and suddenly had opportunities as well as challenges I had never experienced before. However, many other new music students I spoke to stated how much smaller the city felt to them than their hometown. It was so interesting to see how the places we were raised impacted our view of how we live and communicate as a human race. I began imagining all the places in the universe where my small town would appear to be booming with life from its perspective–a lone farmhouse, the depths of the ocean, the edges of outer space, etc. One incredible thing about perspectives is that they are always changing, just as we are. The unfamiliar can always become familiar, and the familiar can always become unfamiliar.”-Adam Lenhart, 2024---------------------------Adam Lenhart (b. 2002) is a University of Michigan student of music theory, composition, voice and organ from Ottawa Lake, Michigan. Vibraphone Solo - Level 3 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1324185 By Dave Kemp. By Dave Kemp. 21st Century. Individual part. 15 pages. Simpatico Music #912380. Published by Simpatico Music (A0.1324185). This work is an adaptation of a longer piece composed for the selection rounds of the Sydney International Piano Competition. It was originally scored for five pianos playing simultaneously, hence the derby idea whereby each piano was pitted against the other in a rambunctious race till the very end ! It explores the less common use of the vibraphone for extended passages with the pedal kept up to create a staccato effect, intricate weaving melodic lines using unconventional scales and sophisticated rhythmic interplay between the vibraphone and piano parts. It is included in the Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) Syllabus for Percussion from Grade 7.

Vibraphone Solo - Level 5 - Digital Download SKU: A0.1201734 Composed by Brandon Nelson. 20th Century,Chamber,Classical,Contemporary,Multicultural,World. Individual part. 6 pages. Brandon Nelson #800350. Published by Brandon Nelson (A0.1201734). The Dhammapada (or “Path to Virtueâ€) is a compilation of concise yet profound teachings on the basic values and ethics of Buddhism. Often using down-to-earth imagery to illustrate its points, these ancient texts transcend the limitations of time, tradition, and culture to express the great wisdom and compassion that Gautama Buddha himself originally taught. The five movements of this piece are musical paintings of particularly vivid teachings found in the Dhamapada. Each is a meditation on both the literal image and the underlying philosophy of the chosen verse. In the Buddhist tradition of detaching from one’s ego, I chose to apply chance techniques to assist in making many important musical decisions, including rhythm and form.Namaste.

Vibraphone Solo - Level 4 - Digital Download SKU: A0.998880 Composed by Robert A. Howard. 21st Century,Blues,Contemporary,Standards. Individual part. 4 pages. Robert A. Howard #6480949. Published by Robert A. Howard (A0.998880). This fifth piece in the series of 'Mosaic' works is written for solo vibraphone. As in the other Mosaic works, a series of early, unrelated sketches were reworked to create this piece. Mosaic V features a range of contrasting material, juxtaposed with a refrain-like ascending scale figure. Some ideas refer to the jazz context of the vibraphone, such as in the use of syncopation, off-beat accents, swinging irregular time signatures, tremolos, and the use of the blues scale. The work primarily explores the melodic potential of the vibraphone, with occasional harmonies produced by adding pedal points, added-note chords, and harmonisation in parallel sixths. The piece is highly accessible and is appropriate for more advanced vibraphone players, including students and professionals.
