The Brandenburg concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach (BWV 1046–1051) are a collection of six instrumental works presented by Bach to Christian Ludwig, Margrave of Brandenburg-Schwedt, in 1721. They are widely regarded as among the finest musical compositions of the Baroque era. Brandenburg Concerto No. 2 in F major, BWV 1047 was originally scored for a Concertino of natural trumpet in F, recorder, oboe, violin, with a Ripieno of two violins, viola, violone, and basso continuo (including harpsichord). This challenging arrangement has been adapted for a Saxophone Quintet: Soprano, Alto, Tenor, Baritone and Bass. An alternate Baritone part is included that is more saxophone friendly, and a 2nd Baritone part is included as a substitute for the Bass. Arranged for Saxophone Quintet, Don't Get Around Much Anymore is a jazz standard written by composer Duke Ellington. The song was originally entitled Never No Lament and was first recorded by Duke Ellington and his orchestra on May 4, 1940.  Don't Get Around Much Anymore quickly became a hit after Bob Russell wrote its lyrics in 1942.Two different recordings of Don't Get Around Much Anymore, one by The Ink Spots and the other by Ellington's own band, reached No. 1 on the R&B chart in the US in 1943. Both were top-ten pop records, along with a version by Glen Gray. Trombone has some great licks! The solo in the middle is also split amongst the players, giving it a conversational quality.
